Kashmir- Bangla Victory message to Mithila
Last night I listened to BBC about Kashmir polls and Bangladesh polls and this noon I saw results of Karnataka’s BJP’s victory plus to already it had power there and usually people vote for the bye elections to the party which is in power and BJP should not be jubilant on that.
Some persons were critical of Congress joining any Govt. at J & K and some critics were of the view that the National conference should join Congress.
To me both are one and J & K should be renamed as Jammu-Kashmir- laddakh as L. is lost when letters J & K come as usual to alphabetical order. In fact J is submerged into K. and for the rest of the world K stands bold.
Congress had lost and PDF had gained ground their as if some attorney of Hurriat they have received.
Not BJP bit Hindus representing BJP had done well in J. and is no where in power equation. Unless J. is separated Jammu will not have any say in provincial autonomy how so far aloud may be

I agree with the writer that Hindus are dwindling not by nature but by a systematic plan (in 1947 16 per cent of Muslim population seceded from India on the name of Islamic nation and they got 33 per cent of Indian territory but only 9 per cent of them remained in Pakistan east and West---their should have been population exchange if country was divided on the name of religion or that division should be discarded by all as that was a British diplomacy to make India weak).
Further Hindus were weeded out from Pakistan and are being done so in Bangladesh, the Bangladeshis are infiltrating in the Mithila region of Bihar where West Bengal has only a chicken neck connecting rest of seven(rather eight including Sikkim and also Bhutan though a sovereign country) which is losing its Sanatan identity. We are of the view that Mithila needs bifurcation from Bihar and Mithila with its first language Maithili and second language Sanskrit( a simplified form, omitting dwivachan and with only three tenses present, past and future which can be learnt in five days only) will be able to halt the cultural and demographic changes in this greatest seat of Sanatan cultural to which India boasts world over.
Bangladeshis should know that Farakka agreement of water was against the interests of Mithila state of India and Mithila will fight for its due share. Mithila has floods but it has draught too and Mithila is not flooded by rainwaters but by sismic changes in Upper Himalayan belts. Mithila needs water for its agrarian life.
Whoever wins or lose in Bangaldesh they should be aware of the Islamic militancy against India through their soil.
Now Gorakha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) has also staked claim for separate statehood on the grounds of Bangadeshi infiltration( GJM team off to delhi for Gorkha talks, HT 28.12.2008, I read only yesterday).
I am of the view that Second State reorganization Committee should be set up in India and it should try to include the portions till Assam (Sikkim, Bodo districts, north Bengal’s Bagla and Nepali speaking areas) to one state MITHILA which symbolizes more than merely Maithili speakers as Mother Janaki is Jagajjanani.
And I assure each and everyone non-Maithili speaker in this region that their interests will be better protected than at present wherever they are. Change Maithils mind set local to universal not the vice versa..
Probably a time has come when collective efforts can put Mithila on Indian Map though it is not so easy but also not that much difficult if coming few months are used with skill.
We need many more types of support but that can be delegated or taken if somebody is willing to spare.
We toured Simariyaghat-Khagaria-Katihar-Purnea- Kishanganj-Arariya-Forbesganj-Bhagalpur during Dec.25-28. We(Ratneshwar Jha and I) was added Pramod Kumar Jha on 25th evening and then we were- Pramod and I.
I was more worker concerned , as presidency of Party was given to a person with whom I had barely one meeting merely 20 days back of Dec.13th the D-day for a 42 yeared Pramod Jha.
Ratneshwar Jha too had talked me only twice before only but had a Mithila pang in his heart since 22 years of this 47 yeared paerson when he saw me a printed memorundum of Mithila Lok manch ,printed 22 years back. There were many points and jargons I was using without reading that any time. When I asked what you did for in past decades he could not due to family problems now he can do some thing. At Khagaria Dharmendra arranged the meet meet immediately and then Pramodji also joined. We stayed at a hospital and Nursing College, Dharmendra’s brother Dr. S.Vivekanand my old follower since DMCH days, is evolving gradually.
That night a laxmi was born in a first Ceaser held there by Dr.TWINKLE(yes that is her name!) who very cleverly repliedme that she was a housewife and doctor both! And that is the essence of Hindu family life for any wife- Alas if so would have been my Dolly!
The providence for Ratneshwar Jha came when President of Mithila Vikas Party could not reach Khagaria at Image center the specified place (though he was standing near since 90 minutes, at front building, “Macchali Ghar,” for almost 90 minutes and his mobile discharged he did not call us till Ratneshwar took over as the organizing secetary of Party and he spoke well and I hope he will work well too as his normal business demands tours to different cities of country and he is rooted to Madhubani the district he wanted to be given to coordinate.
I only said, “one should not decide about any post himself/herself,” let it remain other’s prerogative. If I am a spokesman of the AMP it was because others had nominated me so- I was not even aware of spokespersonsip in AMP’s constitution as registered though in future this post may be off the record.
To me every member is spokesman of the organization and he/she should speak the views of all others to outsiders, maybe in his own language in which he should speak to insiders as and when time comes and if mood is affirmative he should be assertive of the points.
And similarly I told to Pramodji also that had he not been to Patna on Dec.13 then too MVP would have come up as it was a conscious decision by a group of workers of the AMP. In fact on his repeated incidental absence(at Delhi and Simariaghat and then at Khagaria) was a bearing on my mind and surely I am not one who can compromise on any person’s bargain for any post for himself! If I know it from before I will not accept(and I did not accept a present MLA’s support today if he wanted to remain aloof and independent..to me even any independent has to depend on a group and that is the essense of any organization!
When Pramodji asked me my opinion on his working after 3 days,I told him though he might have worked elsewhere for Mithila-Maithili he will have to learn while working and also the Rajas view of work will gradually change to sattwik…
Having tamas and rajas is not altogether bad as only Tamas can do cration and so rajas development but that is a way to find Sat..
It also holds good for me too- when Swami Chidatmananadji at Simariyaghat seeing me asked there the persons, his devotees (from near Barauni Panchyat to Champaran).”will I suit as CM of Mithila?”, my mind repulsed probably .”not a cup of tea,” for me. And I thought even for PM-ship I could have imagined and strive but what I choose to work as a simple worker was most satisfying as I know anything which has a beginning has ends too!

I could not get last minute reservation on account of that Anand mela at Pundag near Bokaro steel city in west Bengal in way to Ranchi and had a hard time but was fortunate enough to get space for sitting on a corner when five rural women were on my side sitting..They all had a badge of ANGIKA SAMAJ…might be a pass like that of rally to attend without tickets. An old Marwari women sitting on her attaché was commenting like typical Manthra or Sasu to her young daughter in law who was totally opposite in her behaviour taking so sweet with other sweet little girl of class V of saraswati Vidya Mandir of Jharia – I was surprised to know that her Saraswati Vidya Mandir had an English Prayer not Sanskrit .
I took some sips of water from her Pirpainti hills and ate very fine chura-eelaicheedana given three fours fistfuls to me while taking off from swami Sadchitamanji Mahatmaji at simariaghat (he told me to add Ghat after Simaria which I was not doing) Seeing posters of Mithila he had embarked,”This I was searching.. and knowing for MVP was pleased too much and invited us to join 10 days Mithila Parikrama which can augment Mithila movement and he has infrastructure- vechiles and everything- I saw one ambulance too-if I can work something apart from giving lectures!)..
Maybe that little girl,( DOLLY!) of Saraswati Vidya Mandir of Jharia had an English Prayer not Sanskrit but not only I consented for Pramod Jha’s advice Second Language of Mithila State as Sanskrit, I even told it to the press persons at Araiya.. Probably it will be way to revive cultural Mithila as even Hindi is a for of Urdu which had divided country on the name of language and culture-not only in 1947 but even Pakistani Urdu fanatics had harkiri of Islamic nation made on the slogan of two nations theory!
Pramod Jha is right to that extent that cultural topography of Mithila was changing sharply and chicken neck of Siliguri-Kishanganj is only neck- I always make a point to visit Kishanganj where elderly professor Dr. Mayakant Jha is always in a welcoming mood and this time though he was at gaya, his son Gopalji managed the press which always supports me the best in Mithila and has supported so once again though we were late they came and again came when we reached late! We saw Nursery of Gopalji which has over 1500 varietie4s of plants.
We need to work hard if we want our progeny can have free air we need Mithila, agreed Lait Mohan Thakur, erstwhile BSP district president now General Secretary, MVP and so many more. Lait Mohan Thakur was overwhelmed as to how I could have belief on him in mere one visit!
I am not a politician and I do not want politicians should work like their other peers are doing. There can be some arithmetical calculation of caste and creed but that is not all. Bihar has now parties made of castes and that was by the disciples of great Lohiya, I said thus to Prof. Aggarwal , a Lohiyite who had come to Purnea to distribute blankets to Koshi flood victims. He had also stayed on 26th night at jounalist Tarun Vinay’s residence that night when I accepted Tarun’s sister Pinky’s invitation after the press conference she had coordinated at Purnea.. We took wrong way and were 20 minutes late than 630 PM fixed by Kripanand Jha, General secretary, AMP with her when my classmate, Dr.Amrendra jha showed his inability to spare time but gave me her name in the 26th morning when I contacted Delhi. And rightly Hindustan had closed the reports with her name as District coordinator of MVP though Pramodji was targeting her as Youth Wing leader of MVP!
It is not that AMP, Purnea has dearth of workers but the main of them Dr. Gaurikant Jha had been to Madhepura for University senate meeting and maybe he could not find any person to delegate the work.
So is the veteran maithili worker Naraynji at Katihar but we need to inculcate LOKSANGRAH effectively at all plces which we need for any democratic move! Even Press will help only then.
We were amazed to find Pinky’s dutifulness and activeness contrast to her health could indicate anyone! And when she guided our car on her bike, in that cold dark evening, I could only imagine Mithila was changing. Her brother Vinay does not want to take any job, out of Bihar. Love to own earth and root can only change the scenario we are contemplating.
Vinay had a long discussion with me on Gandhism(which I said was nothing but Indianism and any specification to that was aberration not in the help of Indian people), nationalism and many more things which are wrongly inscribed on pure minds on the name of Aryan Colonisation, Brahminical Hinduism, RSS, etc. and the dining table was a discussion table- being main speaker and ‘main’ eater, it took Pramodji to take up so that I may finish the dishes Pinky had prepared- not seeing their mother I had queried his father and was stunned to know she died of diabetic kidney well under 50! Mithila needed AIIMS, not Patna I cry in every meeting)
I am not so much press concerned though press gave due attention – Rastriya Sahara’s 4 columns to Jagaran’s photos, Hindustan’s good coverage and yet to see though reported big reporting from Kisangaj’s Rastriya Sahara on 28th. Yes sahara was first o flash MVP on 14th December(I have not seen but reported so) and I exclaimed on that at Araiya that Subroto ray sahara himself was born at Araiya. A newspaper hawker offered me Urdu Sahara when I asked for a copy of sahara –might be it too had that news! By that time Hindi sahara had not reached the town and I could not get that in way at Purnea.
I was born in Purnea district and can write indefinitely but let me close that by adding that Pramodji too was exclaimed by seeing cows going to Bangladesh way for slaughtering which I had seen in my childhood mornings.
After Araiya I could go to my birth place Forbesganj. Shri SM Mishra of Rami was with us. To guide and we met a leader who supported Mithila cause. Visit to my dilapidated house was only for five minutes and we took road to Purnea where Pionki was waiting with her cooked food but fog was competitive of her and fog won the drivring mind of Pramod..I could have loved to reach there even late but surely a 30 km way took 2 hours and I thought we missed Arariya way which even Arariite Lalit Mohan agreed , “we maybe at Jalagarh,” when I suggested for Garh banaili.. It sparked in my mind and I made on my mobile..it was showing Arariya..Yes, we were only nearing Araiya..while Lait Mohan was happy I was sorry to miss Pinki’s meals and adventure to Purnea journey in midnight fog where even a cycleman ran way when we wwere intending to ask the place we were- some other person had also missed the place!
28th morinig too it was fog till late and we could reach directly Bhagalpur by 1 pm( one hour late for meeting at Baba Burahanath Mahadev)…Again, in short meeting XIX International Maithili Conference was finalized there during April 11-12 with jayprakash jha as Convenor and President, AMP, Bhagalpur. I could get my train but again missed one lunch appointment with Dr.Rekha Jha I had taken many years back9and had reconfirmed on 25th December) when for the time I had predicted ,”Lalu will loose as he will not get Muslim votes..”
Lalu lost and then gained..Lalu was to come Bhagalpur to announce Yashvantpura express..that evening in a big pandal at railway station..
Leaderes will win and loose but nation and region should not with them. It should rise. Mithila will rise and a risen Mithila can only make India risen. Mithila work has no contradiction with India’s work I told Pramodji time and again.

A newspaper hawker offered me Urdu Sahara when I asked for a copy of sahara –might be it too had that news! By that time Hindi sahara had not reached the town and I could not get that in way at Purnea.
I was born in Purnea district and can write indefinitely but let me close that by adding that Pramodji too was exclaimed by seeing cows going to Bangladesh way for slaughtering which I had seen in my childhood mornings.
After Araiya I could go to my birth place Forbesganj. Shri SM Mishra of Rami was with us. To guide and we met a leader who supported Mithila cause. Visit to my dilapidated house was only for five minutes and we took road to Purnea where Pionki was waiting with her cooked food but fog was competitive of her and fog won the drivring mind of Pramod..I could have loved to reach there even late but surely a 30 km way took 2 hours and I thought we missed Arariya way which even Arariite Lalit Mohan agreed , “we maybe at Jalagarh,” when I suggested for Garh banaili.. It sparked in my mind and I made on my mobile..it was showing Arariya..Yes, we were only nearing Araiya..while Lait Mohan was happy I was sorry to miss Pinki’s meals and adventure to Purnea journey in midnight fog where even a cycleman ran way when we wwere intending to ask the place we were- some other person had also missed the place!
28th morinig too it was fog till late and we could reach directly Bhagalpur by 1 pm( one hour late for meeting at Baba Burahanath Mahadev)…Again, in short meeting XIX International Maithili Conference was finalized there during April 11-12 with jayprakash jha as Convenor and President, AMP, Bhagalpur. I could get my train but again missed one lunch appointment with Dr.Rekha Jha I had taken many years back9and had reconfirmed on 25th December) when for the time I had predicted ,”Lalu will loose as he will not get Muslim votes..”
Lalu lost and then gained..Lalu was to come Bhagalpur to announce Yashvantpura express..that evening in a big pandal at railway station..
Leaderes will win and loose but nation and region should not with them. It should rise. Mithila will rise and a risen Mithila can only make India risen. Mithila work has no contradiction with India’s work I told Pramodji time and again.
I am not a politician and my uttarance to press, “AMP will support any party or parties who will pledge for Mithila’s statehood,” made him some thoughtful but that is exactly the stand AND ISSUE WHERE WE ARE.We want Mithila state in India and let MVP be a joran in Indian polity of milk to make it DAHI, Mithila is known for.
We need to go villages- in this journey we touched Bhramarpur and villagers were overwhelmed. From there I talked to Dr Prajapati jha at Bagalore- the village has scores of high ups including SC Jha, advisor to PM and little Jaya Jhar, the prodigal daughter of Mithila an IIT,IIM.. Our almost all Mithila villages are same and talk of Ang though comes in way but Bhramarpur is alos in Bhagalpur and we regard all as Mithila shown in Grierson’s map..
Dr Jha told me of Vidaypati parva at bagalore by one new made title , the AMP I formed there was changed to local..the need is to change Maithil mind set local to universal not the vice versa..

Mithila Vikas Party, Book Fair, Cultural terrorism
I had been for two days at Patna Book Fair(on 13th and 14th December 2008).
Taking a train on 12th night was a good exercise as I had some nine packets of good weight of posters and Maithili Sandesh for me for distributing them to Maithili workers who were to assemble at Patna.
Two young students- one doctor doing MD in Pharmacolology at RIIMS,Ranchi who had his MBBS from Shivajee Medical College, Thane could not understand that I was a doctor when I pleaded that rural compulsory posting for new medical graduates should not be done as that is time of learning near if not under seniors. The other young engineering student from Raigarha(Orissa) could not be convinced that medical students need to read several times voluminous book than of other streams.
Though Pramod Jha started late than me from Dhanbad his train Ganga-damodar crossed ours at Gomoh.
At Patna he took care to take packets through a coolie and then auto which we left before Book Fair thinking some trade exhibition as Book Fair and so again a rickshaw to put packets with security guards of book fair.
We went to Lohanipur near Pramodji’s briother and had daily rituals and food.
At Gandhi maidan, it was a grand meeting of Maithils – almost every expected person came and they founded Mithila Vikas Party (MVP) to which I finally commented historic it was and AMP members would support any Party named Mithila if that was non-violent and non compromising to national ideals and hence MVP deserves our all support.
There were persons from Arariya, Purnea, Khagaria, Saharsa, Samastipur, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi districts and there was optimism amongst them that they would provide a political solution to Mithila’s pending problems. Rightly Pramod Jha, young (born 1966 whom I know for barely a fortnight) President of MVP said that MVP was born of the persons who had neither millions of rupees nor any body as history sheeter who usually make a cauldron of political party. Narendra Jha the organizer of Book fair said he would provide MVP office at Purnea.
He spoke in the end and all were convinced that MVP had a future. It was also a meeting where no food or tea was served, first time in a Maithili meeting and als every expected turned up.
I spoke on Economic downfall of Mithila on 13th and as a tribute to great philosopher Dr.Uma Charna Jha on 14th I spoke on “Philosophical contribution of Mithila to Indian Philosophy.
Press did not mention (except Rastriya Sahara I was informed last night) but surely people and leaders are in surprise. When incidentally I reached with PK Chaoudhary, Secetary, AMP, Bihar to Mithila Colony, danapur in the Vidyapati Parva I was given unique honour while on dais was my old ABVP activist friend Ashwini Choubey, Mibister, PHED, Govt. of Bihar. I could meet him after 26 years.
In my brief 3 minutes speech I used the term ‘Cultural Terrorism,” which was stated around 13.12.1325 when Raja Shiv Singh. King of Mithila ( where Vidaypati was Rajkavi ) had to flee to Nepal in that cold night…
We want our that Mithila which was lost in an imaginary state of Bihar due to Muslim invaders that night !
Purvpttar Maithili’s recent issue was distributed on dais which Ashwiniji read on the cover and seeing map of Mithila was disturned.
I assured Choubeyjee that Mithila state will not be anti-national and the demand is not fissiparous in my brief talk after though he was not convinced but the Mithils there who had loud voice on Jai Mthila only some children repeated jai Bihar when choubeyji gave that slogan.
I am not anti-Bihari but minus Mithila that was great Magadh and Bhojpur, never a cultural Bihar. Magahi and Bhojpuri too will develop if Mithila is separated.(And also the areas as they will get more central attention).
I could purchased some rare books from stalls which I am reading now.

After Nepal became a Secular Democracy it has for the first time Eid and bakrid holidays have been declared. Yesterday on 9th December 2008 I listened to that on the BBC in night sevice of news.(after coming from the house of a colleague doctor where due to Gita ekadashi and being vegetarian I had taken only fruit salad and fruits).
There were happy reactions on radio from Muslim Nepalis that they were feeling good . However, no reaction of Hindu public was asked.
Nepal had an identity of Sole Hindu nation so far. Indian Hindus too used to take pride in that. Surprisingly Janki Navami(Baishakh Shukla 9, a month after Ram Navami)has not been declared a national holiday in Nepal though famous Jankpur, the house of maharshi Janak is there!
Muslims are in utter minority in Nepal and if optional holidays to them would have been accorded that would have been more appropriate but they followed indian government in this regard.
In India too the holidays related to festivals should be given to the communities concerned rater than making public holidays to all which hampers normal working.
In the days of Ramzans Muslims even otherwise leave office earlier for which no one objects.
In fact, optional holidays to be given to religion specefic days to all.
If national holidays are to be given to all- the days should be in prorortion to the percentage of poulation and should not be equal on the name of religion. It means out of 16 days- barring for 3(15th Aug.,26th jan. and 2nd October)inj the rest 13 days- 85 per cent (or 10 days)on Hindu Festivals and in 15 per cent i.e. 3 to others on rotation as per their population percent who want to declare themselves Non_Hindus(if Sikh, Baidhs and Jainis want themselve to be treated separately though they are by and large Hindus.
In Nepal weekly holidays are on Saturday-le us see whether they follow Indian Sunday pattern in practice since 1843..
My view is that in India(and all over the world it should be on Saturday as it is the last day of week, Sunday is the first day of week and any weekly TV progrmme on Sunday like Prannoy Roy's in past "The world this week,"should has been "The World Last Week," and Airlines and railways should mark 1 for Sunday not for Monday for their shedule).
A Holiday on the first day is just a joke and even against the Bibilic sayings that God created universe in six days and took rest on seventh(probably Seventh day adventiss sect has Church on saturday.
Otherwise,in India Thursday would be secular as India was free on a Thursday night(night of 14th August- Hindu the majority tradition has day change from morning- Pakistan as per moon seeing too can observe 13th august evening as Thursday and incidentally Bangaldesh liberation was also on 16th dec 1971, a Thursday!
In Chhotangpur, farmers observe do not plough on Thursday !

"I do not think any word you used in oration or written was unacceptable though any point may be discussed again anad again if not perceived properly- that is the essence of Hindu philosophy.
I was not busy in Mumbai attack but with other task centred on Mithila an dits problem for a 4-day Wokers training camp here at Ranchi and hence could not reply.
(you have seen me and were with me that during my scjeduled pravas to Nagpur on 6.12. 1992 when Ayodhya demolition was taking place then too we had a meeting with medicos in Govt. Medical College with a simple logic, if I had not been there, I should work my task rather viewing TV though historical that might have been..).
However, as you know I have some perception other than commonly perceived, you may be amazed to note that I liked much better 'proxy PM's' non-interference to security personnels than our beloved PM's esteemed colleague escorting the grand terrorist.
Further more as this time target was elite person hardly cvommon men of India had much interest than to just knowing the outcome for curiosity. One may not agree but ask how many people did not take food that there entrapped were many of our countrymen.
The sensitivity has been lost for general at the value of increament for kith and kin.
Though you are a born Mumbite, I would have liked to distribute share market money to different centres in India rather centralizing them at Mumbai or for that matter anywhere that poor countrymen flock there for livelihood and become target of internal terrorists(Thakres) and or external ones like we have faced.

I was called by Indrakant of Tengraha village for his mother’s barshi..first I thought it was Irafan, a boy from Jhanajharpur who had appeared in merit examination and had left the camp despite my hint at Baira Parsa where I was about to announce a monthly scholarship for him.
At Indrakant’s house Mahidharji was present whose father Raghvacharya was a revolutionary poet of Mithila.. After bhoj, he came to my house and I started for his house just to walk. In the way I went to NN Jha and DN Jha’s house to invite them for my father’s chhaya on 26th. Then we went to Forest colony for meeting Dinesh Jha son of Dr. L.N. Jha, a senior worker of AMP at Saharsa. We were returning and Mahidharji had to attend a marriage for which he needed an envelop with a coin. We went to side shop and as we were talking in Maithili the shopkeeper also interrupted us in Maithili. He was Sunil Rai and I guessed he was from Samastipur that he was indeed. He was interested to attend any Maithili meeting and expressed his view that until we speak Maithili with our children they will not! I invited him for next day’s meeting(though he could not come- I will see he attends a nearby meeting) was not this introduction for Mahidharji and I was talking in Maithili.

Voter I card, Marriage anniversary,etc.
A week has passed since I wrote something not because I had no topic but was wandering among topics- on 12th night I took a train to Varanasi with sacs of Aayurvigyan Pragati with me. A fellow young passenger was a research scholar at the IIT, Kanpur(I find a news on 21.11.2008 that IITs considering medical courses which for limited bio-technical subjects with nearby medical college hospital support may do wonderful research) on a medical topic,” Super hygiene related childhood bronchial asthma.” When I enquired something and suggested my own hypothesis, ”Lovely child syndrome,” I have written in my autobiography, it was essential to me that I should give him my introduction as a doctor though he was thinking me a professor and I had initially told him that I was an editor which too was correct but I was a clinician and sitting in the Nair Hospital Library had written a synopsis on the ” New frontiers of managing bronchial asthma,” as a precondition to my service to the Cipla Ltd. at Mumbai in 1989 which though they offered me I rather loved to work in Cardiac Cath lab. Of the J. J. Hospital when I met Dr.Anil Kumar there who was an alumnus of my Alma Mater, the Darbhanga Medical College and was 5 years senior to me.
At Mugalsarai, I dropped a bag of the journals in the RMS box and at Varanasi my younger brother came and he took away rest of the bags. I went for a Ganga sanan to Dashaswmedh Ghat which I had. I had to take Ganga snan within a year of my father’s death and that I could there. There was a rush of Kartik poornima there which I had also seen at Kashi station before the junction, the Cant station. People had thronged there from all corners of the country and I saw many south Indians. Even Devegowda, the ex-PM had been for the darshan of Baba Vishwanath and naturally there was a long queue of devotees and when I reached there what people sad I assumed that if I stay I would miss my train 1550 and hence, putting Gangajal to a sideway Shiva temple, I returned back to station.
Before Allahabad too there is a suburban station Prayag where too Ganga had many pilgrims assembled for Ganga snan where during Kumbh in 2001, I had taken a holy dip amongst the largest congregate of human beings in the world.
I reached Bhopal and met Dr. Madhup in the same guest house at the GMC where we had met previous time also. In fact, my life had taken a turn and though I could have pursued my D.M. at Mumbai even without which I became a part of angioplasty, pace maker implantation etc. done there so cheap on a nominal rate. I had come back to Ranchi to save my marriage which I could not and still I am hovering out on the fall out of that as if a loneliness like the big depression in the Sensex of market all over.
My wife had left me for the NMO and in a way later the NMO too left me but for a dedicated worker, Dr. Madhup Kumar who stood firmly for the principles NMO stood which was primarily an organization of medical students dedicated to the social service. We had thus conferences at Indore, Katihar anf Goa and now at Bhopal on Nov.15-16,2008. Though old guards did not attend there were many young faces which promise a positive turnout in coming years.
The NMO conference had problem that the lady Director, of the medical college demanded Rs.50,000 per day for the auditorium and we had to shift the venue to a nearby hotel which though had flags of BJP(the owner of the hotel was an active member), they too blackmailed us to the maximum possible and the young doctor organiser could not bargain and some 6,000 Rs. were given to him. Usually such party workers of any party are not social workers but businessmen and in fact politics has become a good business as I could witness from the news and views of Bhopal in full election swings.
Many would have thought about me that I too was there for the same purpose but not only I was there simply because it was not known to us when the conference dates were fixed that those will be election days. We only had checked marriage dates should not clash but election is a great marriage of wealth and hypocrisy though in a democracy you cannot remain aloof.
Despite that election fever at least four newspapers , Nav duniya, HT, Nav Bharat, Sandhya Prakash, Good night published NMOCON’s news- the Nav Duniya and HT published both days’ release. Dr. Sajeev Kelkar listening to all developments said that he returned back after many years to the NMO conference at a critical juncture when it was needed most.
I told him that happenings are merely showing that even good persons can mistake.
I think I should have said in stead of ”Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely,” the scenario here was ,”People want power even without working and such persons cannot tolerate any working even if done honestly.”

Young student of Hospital Pharmacy, Raman Patidar, was much enthusiastic for a conference at the GMC again and I thought my planning of a series of national organizations of Medicos, Ayurveda, Homeo, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Biotechnology, Nursing, Agriculture, Veterinary, Forestry, Management, Accountancy, Software and other branches of engineering and in fact in every disciplines we need them which are bereft of partisan politics to reconstruct the nation.
I wanted to make NMO, one such though I am not averse to politics however I never intended to make NMO, a vehicle of that which many friends of mine did like. Am I like a Janak who though in politics wanted to remain aloof of that..Will MVP(Mithila Vikas Party) will be same- might be PP. Guruji might have thought for the BJS too in the same vein but he was absolutely correct,” in big programmes workers are separated while in small workers are developed,” and so NMO lost many after the grandeur of the Silver Jubilee and is getting younger like Naveen in smaller conferences. “The Small is beautiful.”
I am tethered between politics and social service and have strong reservations for many who are not accountable and do not speak in diatribe and so have no quality for a politician. Yet, I am trying to get voter id card though that I had but I do not find my name in the electoral list. Hardly people may like persons like me wedded to principles as I cannot help many out of turn. Some body was seeking a vehicle and some one some drugs which I had not. At times, I am pessimistic and see very few years of life ahead and some times with full vigour to restart my life again. Am I a broken man? I do not know. I simply know to work whichever is before me and will do so. The aim of healthy India and prosperous Mithila will remain my twin goals, if nothing personal in life. And hence, I wrote the aims of MSP (Mithila Seva Parishad) and may write for MVP (Mithila Vikas Party). My senior friend Govindacharya is again in active politics. Let me see if we can ever meet again.

Last two days I have been busy in getting my voter ID card which is a difficult work in India for frequent check ups. I feel a single card, made on the permanent address, should be valid through out India even if person changes residence and on line voting be allowed from any corner of the country in this IT age otherwise colossal man power loss will continue of enumerators as well as electors who should be allowed to change constituency themselves on changing their address as per present address’s constituency and in any cast they may vote for only one candidate.
My sister’s marriage anniversary is today and brother in law came yesterday. They started getting calls as soon as in the midnight date changed. The matter of fact is that in fact their marriage must have crossed other date in the marriage night. After all Puja and others if done should have been on Hindu calendar and Tithi unless we adopt Solar Calendar in practice though lunar calendar with Malmas every third year has geo-astrological better correlation.

A week has passed since I wrote something not because I had no topic but was wandering among topics- on 12th night I took a train to Varanasi with sacs of Aayurvigyan Pragati with me. A fellow young passenger was a research scholar at the IIT, Kanpur(I find a news on 21.11.2008 that IITs considering medical courses which for limited bio-technical subjects with nearby medical college hospital support may do wonderful research) on a medical topic,” Super hygiene related childhood bronchial asthma.” When I enquired something and suggested my own hypothesis, ”Lovely child syndrome,” I have written in my autobiography, it was essential to me that I should give him my introduction as a doctor though he was thinking me a professor and I had initially told him that I was an editor which too was correct but I was a clinician and sitting in the Nair Hospital Library had written a synopsis on the ” New frontiers of managing bronchial asthma,” as a precondition to my service to the Cipla Ltd. at Mumbai in 1989 which though they offered me I rather loved to work in Cardiac Cath lab. Of the J. J. Hospital when I met Dr.Anil Kumar there who was an alumnus of my Alma Mater, the Darbhanga Medical College and was 5 years senior to me.
At Mugalsarai, I dropped a bag of the journals in the RMS box and at Varanasi my younger brother came and he took away rest of the bags. I went for a Ganga sanan to Dashaswmedh Ghat which I had. I had to take Ganga snan within a year of my father’s death and that I could there. There was a rush of Kartik poornima there which I had also seen at Kashi station before the junction, the Cant station. People had thronged there from all corners of the country and I saw many south Indians. Even Devegowda, the ex-PM had been for the darshan of Baba Vishwanath and naturally there was a long queue of devotees and when I reached there what people sad I assumed that if I stay I would miss my train 1550 and hence, putting Gangajal to a sideway Shiva temple, I returned back to station.
Before Allahabad too there is a suburban station Prayag where too Ganga had many pilgrims assembled for Ganga snan where during Kumbh in 2001, I had taken a holy dip amongst the largest congregate of human beings in the world.
I reached Bhopal and met Dr. Madhup in the same guest house at the GMC where we had met previous time also. In fact, my life had taken a turn and though I could have pursued my D.M. at Mumbai even without which I became a part of angioplasty, pace maker implantation etc. done there so cheap on a nominal rate. I had come back to Ranchi to save my marriage which I could not and still I am hovering out on the fall out of that as if a loneliness like the big depression in the Sensex of market all over.
My wife had left me for the NMO and in a way later the NMO too left me but for a dedicated worker, Dr. Madhup Kumar who stood firmly for the principles NMO stood which was primarily an organization of medical students dedicated to the social service. We had thus conferences at Indore, Katihar anf Goa and now at Bhopal on Nov.15-16,2008. Though old guards did not attend there were many young faces which promise a positive turnout in coming years.
The NMO conference had problem that the lady Director, of the medical college demanded Rs.50,000 per day for the auditorium and we had to shift the venue to a nearby hotel which though had flags of BJP(the owner of the hotel was an active member), they too blackmailed us to the maximum possible and the young doctor organiser could not bargain and some 6,000 Rs. were given to him. Usually such party workers of any party are not social workers but businessmen and in fact politics has become a good business as I could witness from the news and views of Bhopal in full election swings.
Many would have thought about me that I too was there for the same purpose but not only I was there simply because it was not known to us when the conference dates were fixed that those will be election days. We only had checked marriage dates should not clash but election is a great marriage of wealth and hypocrisy though in a democracy you cannot remain aloof.
Despite that election fever at least four newspapers , Nav duniya, HT, Nav Bharat, Sandhya Prakash, Good night published NMOCON’s news- the Nav Duniya and HT published both days’ release. Dr. Sajeev Kelkar listening to all developments said that he returned back after many years to the NMO conference at a critical juncture when it was needed most.
I told him that happenings are merely showing that even good persons can mistake.
I think I should have said in stead of ”Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely,” the scenario here was ,”People want power even without working and such persons cannot tolerate any working even if done honestly.”

again few minutes to leave.I have taken my meals. I had gone to election booths where electoral rolls were to be displayed and corrected but for three days no one had come. I talked to deputy election secretary of the Jharkhand state and may take his help on during 18th to 24th when I return from Bhopal to renter my name though I have a voting card I did not find name in roll when I had gone for councils polls.
Well in India, it is a difficult process , most of the cards issued have misprint and when I got other corrected one my name was deleted.
I need it as I may even contest resigning from service though I have a bigger issue before and that issue is before all I talked to many workers. Maithils feel neglected by all parties and if such a new venture comes many miracles may happen.
Though basically I am a non political man and want to be in social cocoon amy be some change needed to rectify process, I told Premchand Jha of Jharkhand Maithil Manch when he phoned me to invite for Sama Chakeba festival this evening which I cannot attend because I have to catch my train.
And having scan of Ma. Abaji’s last line I mentioned yesterday let me correctly put that:
“Uttung dheya ke liye Pagal bane vyaktiyon ko “Vishram” ye teen akshar kaheen khoj kar bhee nahee milte. Unhe Vishram lene ke liye, badhya karne, thapthapa kar sulane kee kshamata keval ek he eke hathon me hoti hai aaur uska nam hai ‘MRITYU,”
Dr, Abajee Thatte( 24.11.1918-27.11.1995) wrote thus in Marathi in fact in his diary before he slept for good.
He was MBBS(Mumbai.1943) who dedicated himself to the service of the nation instead of choosing the glamour of medical practice and had been a source of inspiration to me whom I regard as NEO-DADHICHI. My father was also born in 1918 and he was thus a father figure to me.
I talked Mithileshjee Dhanbad for long and many others for future action which is in the time-womb!
Now I should leave.
Let me remind my Bhauji (whether I write Bhabhi or Bhuji, Dr. jaykant mishra had suggested to me to write in maithili Chhati in stead of Chhat in my autobiography when I was writing non-English word), Kusum who phoned me last night for knowing who Achyutanand Thakur was? He was known as santu babu and was her uncke- in law but what I wrote yesterday was wrong that her number might have changed- no I was unnecessary dialluing with nine numbers –tenth was missing.

Also at Muri, Amp will have small function and many Maihtili oirganisations will have so at numerous places.
We usually celebrate birthday but we do not know of Vidayaptai’s and hence Punya Tithi…
Today Achytanand Thakur, one of the oldest man of my village, expired at Ranchi. He had been as if officiating president at AMP, Jharkhand new office. Some days back I had talked to him and noted many points about my village, samaul..
Such old persons are every where- please collect their memory. when they will go we do not know like PAKAL AAM. Please record their experience..
On Sunday I cold attend Dwadasha bhoj of Dinesh Chandra Jha who was a ‘hard core honest’ chief engineer Bihar could ever produce!
A generation is going – learn something from them..

Dr. Bhavnath Choudhouri, Dr. sarsawati Mishra(Prof. Jha’s philosopher daughter with whom I crossed on many philosophical aspects of Mithila , Buddhism and Prof. Jha), Dr. CD Mishra and Dr. kashi Nath Jha spoke high of a man, higher than time and at the level of every man…
The whole dialogue is taped and video recorded.. though local press did not give place to give news, it was one of the AMP’s best programme.
The whole matter will be in book shaped to be released on 14th December when at Book fair Patna,AMP, Bihar will also meet(and I will deliver a lecture on Contribution of Mithila in Indian pgilosophy: The philosophic basis of Mithila state—on 13th I will talk there on economic basis of Mithila state..
Yesterady I delivered a tlk on female infanticide at Town Hall, Ranchi after which one youngmanShantanu Chatterjjee came to me impressed by my speech and some other persons working with NGOs.
I go these days to attend Gita VI Chapter by Chinmay Mission and had been on Saturday at Lalit Colony listening to Bhagwata by Swami Bhaskarananda of Chinmay Mission..
I do not know my own Mission but want just ot work with no aspiration of result, I wrote so to Dr. Neelkamal Joshi of Ahmedabad whom I liked much while he worked in the NMO with me.
Squeezed between AMP and NMO, just could release draft resolutions for the NMO, Bhopal Conference, Nov.15-16 and will start tomorrow for that. Dr. Sajiv Kelkar, Nagpur asked for last page of Dr. Abaji- who wrote in his diary,” Those who strive for something.. they can be slept thapthapakar .. by three words only,”MRITYU,”
And who is afraid of that…??

Great teachers of Mishthila: Rajbanshi Babu, AK Dutta ,etc.
Last evening I went to meet Dr. Kashi Nath Jha, retd. GM,SAIL whom I could not get on phone despite calling several times. I wanted to remind him for his article on Prof. Uma Charna Jha, a retid prof. of philosophy who expired recently.
Personally I do not believe much on phone and prefer to meet personally if at all possible. Dr.K,N Jha’s residence is quite near to my work place and in fact on 5th Nov. I had gone to his quarters also but did not step on stairs thinking that I will have to eat again something after abdomen full Chhati parna.
That dose of sweets I had yesterday but weightier were the talks I had with him on Prof. UC Jha and then many teachers of his days in Madhubani’s Benipatti area with which I am also emotionally attached as of my ancestral district and more so the place of my ex-sasur and many others who were brilliant students and now a shining name in their respective fields.
Let me say that Kashi Babu is a noble soul who has anchorage to ancient Maithil tradition. Though a brilliant student(Ninth in Bihar, including present Jharkhand in 1963 batch of matriculation from a village school of Benipatti; he had BTch from BIT, Sindri but also famous in our locality of Ranchi for an expert horoscopist.
The talk started with Dr. Manikant Thakur of USA and Kashi Babu said that his elder brother Roopkant babu was a teacher in his school who had a free mind and had equally literary flair like Manikantji. He had written a book of poetry in Hindi, “Motikan,” where he had commented on his headmaster Rajbanshi Babu:
“Sitpitatee Gilhari kee doom see
Apaki munchhen kavayad kar rahee..”
At other place n the book lines were:
“Pet kya 5 number balloon hai
Kesh chhati me jahan sailoon hai..”
But Rajbanshi was a teacher par excellent, a strict disciplinarian, who in fact uplift the area( uddhar kay delathi elaka ke).
I was surprised how a teacher can do uddhar of any area?
Kashi Babu said that in present era no one could believe that a teacher in winter season standing on the grass of ground would teach( English and mathematics) boys till 9 am and that too without any money and then will go to house(nearby Behta or Benipatti) and being ready will be again in the school by exact 10 am!
He was an ideal teacher and knowing it I mentally saluted him who were really nation builders not the leaders! In his time some 20 students in a batch from his school used to get first division, even third divisioner of his time are hoisting flags in their area today! His students include many stalwarts of today in various fields(like my ex-father in law who later topped in the Indian School of Mines and retired as CMD from Coal Inda Ltd.).
Rajbanshi babu’s son Nunuji is a dentist and eldest son, Narendra, an engineer, retired from Coal India, his son-in law, Vashishtha, from nearby Sarisab village(recently I crossed during cycle March in October 2008) is on a senior post in Bharat Alumunium.
Rajbanshi babu was elder brother of Dr. Baidyanath Jha, the great socialist leader who also became a Minister in Janta regimen. I had taken his blessings for Mithila work when I was on my first padyatra of Mithila in 1993,
Rajbanshi babu was a great teacher, he excelled some great teachers of his time like Ramkrishna Jha, Jhingur Kunwar (incidentally I saw both of them- Ramkrishnababu was once traveling on a side seat of me in a Darbhanga bound bus and with Jhigur Kunwar I had strolled at Laheriasarai when someone told me that who he was!).
I asked Kashi Babu who were 2.5 teachers in the then Darbhanga district in which one was Siddhinath Mishra of Gonouli whose Golden English Grammar was famous. Kashi Babu said Rajbanshi babu must be one of them and maybe Radhakant Mishra of Kamtaul whose English grammar was also famous and Sundar Babu of Belaunja.
Then I asked him about Arun Kumar Dutta , Principal, RK College. Kashi babu said he exactly remembered the date 20.6.1963 when Kashi babu had gone to him for his admission with an application for freeship he had asked his marks and knowing that he was a board IX ranker with 778/900 marks - immediately wrote on the application,” full freeship and half mess charge free in Heera Hostel and all books from poor boys’ library!”
He was a great teacher who had bent back but was teaching mathematical topics like progression superb in PUC classes..during examination time he used to teach some 300 sums one by one, telling how to approach if that was asked and he used to be a setter and 90 % questions must be from there). He was a great human with a kind heart!

In his time there were some famous school- Watson was of course one where Chandranarayan babu was famous headmaster. Madhubani’s other JMSS(famous as Suri on caste name of Suris ) though said in ligher vein as Jaral Maral Saral Sarathi School but from there Umesh Naryan Panjiyar of his batch of 1963 stood third in Bihar Board who is now Secretary, GOI. Dyodh school(Ghogadiha) was also famous for results and so Jawahar School of Madhepu(I think sometimes in 1990s I have seen its campus while I was going to Rasiari to meet legendary Laxman Jha) and had gone to Dyodh to meet Jeevkantji who was a school teachr who got Sahitya Akademy award also.

Sometimes I also think as to why I did not read in any village school or lived in village- my town was encircled with villages but that was a business town. While going to village I always use to play and read in schools of Jeebach, Pandaul or Madhubani..and sometimes of Northbrook Jila school, Raj School or Saraswati School (M L Academy which surprisingly npt producing MLAs but was named on Maharani Laxmivati academy)..
I had later known about Shcools of Khirhar and of course my maternal place famous Koilakh’s school . About Loha I knew and saw recently and so many more schools of Mithila where I love to go and even have stayed some nights with students.

Great teachers of Mishthila: Rajbanshi Babu, AK Dutta ,etc.
Last evening I went to meet Dr. Kashi Nath Jha, retd. GM,SAIL whom I could not get on phone despite calling several times. I wanted to remind him for his article on Prof. Uma Charna Jha, a retid prof. of philosophy who expired recently.
Personally I do not believe much on phone and prefer to meet personally if at all possible. Dr.K,N Jha’s residence is quite near to my work place and in fact on 5th Nov. I had gone to his quarters also but did not step on stairs thinking that I will have to eat again something after abdomen full Chhati parna.
That dose of sweets I had yesterday but weightier were the talks I had with him on Prof. UC Jha and then many teachers of his days in Madhubani’s Benipatti area with which I am also emotionally attached as of my ancestral district and more so the place of my ex-sasur and many others who were brilliant students and now a shining name in their respective fields.
Let me say that Kashi Babu is a noble soul who has anchorage to ancient Maithil tradition. Though a brilliant student(Ninth in Bihar, including present Jharkhand in 1963 batch of matriculation from a village school of Benipatti; he had BTch from BIT, Sindri but also famous in our locality of Ranchi for an expert horoscopist.
The talk started with Dr. Manikant Thakur of USA and Kashi Babu said that his elder brother Roopkant babu was a teacher in his school who had a free mind and had equally literary flair like Manikantji. He had written a book of poetry in Hindi, “Motikan,” where he had commented on his headmaster Rajbanshi Babu:
“Sitpitatee Gilhari kee doom see
Apaki munchhen kavayad kar rahee..”
At other place n the book lines were:
“Pet kya 5 number balloon hai
Kesh chhati me jahan sailoon hai..”
But Rajbanshi was a teacher par excellent, a strict disciplinarian, who in fact uplift the area( uddhar kay delathi elaka ke).
I was surprised how a teacher can do uddhar of any area?
Kashi Babu said that in present era no one could believe that a teacher in winter season standing on the grass of ground would teach( English and mathematics) boys till 9 am and that too without any money and then will go to house(nearby Behta or Benipatti) and being ready will be again in the school by exact 10 am!
He was an ideal teacher and knowing it I mentally saluted him who were really nation builders not the leaders! In his time some 20 students in a batch from his school used to get first division, even third divisioner of his time are hoisting flags in their area today! His students include many stalwarts of today in various fields(like my ex-father in law who later topped in the Indian School of Mines and retired as CMD from Coal Inda Ltd.).
Rajbanshi babu’s son Nunuji is a dentist and eldest son, Narendra, an engineer, retired from Coal India, his son-in law, Vashishtha, from nearby Sarisab village(recently I crossed during cycle March in October 2008) is on a senior post in Bharat Alumunium.
Rajbanshi babu was elder brother of Dr. Baidyanath Jha, the great socialist leader who also became a Minister in Janta regimen. I had taken his blessings for Mithila work when I was on my first padyatra of Mithila in 1993,
Rajbanshi babu was a great teacher, he excelled some great teachers of his time like Ramkrishna Jha, Jhingur Kunwar (incidentally I saw both of them- Ramkrishnababu was once traveling on a side seat of me in a Darbhanga bound bus and with Jhigur Kunwar I had strolled at Laheriasarai when someone told me that who he was!).
I asked Kashi Babu who were 2.5 teachers in the then Darbhanga district in which one was Siddhinath Mishra of Gonouli whose Golden English Grammar was famous. Kashi Babu said Rajbanshi babu must be one of them and maybe Radhakant Mishra of Kamtaul whose English grammar was also famous and Sundar Babu of Belaunja.
Then I asked him about Arun Kumar Dutta , Principal, RK College. Kashi babu said he exactly remembered the date 20.6.1963 when Kashi babu had gone to him for his admission with an application for freeship he had asked his marks and knowing that he was a board IX ranker with 778/900 marks - immediately wrote on the application,” full freeship and half mess charge free in Heera Hostel and all books from poor boys’ library!”
He was a great teacher who had bent back but was teaching mathematical topics like progression superb in PUC classes..during examination time he used to teach some 300 sums one by one, telling how to approach if that was asked and he used to be a setter and 90 % questions must be from there). He was a great human with a kind heart!

Chhati- the Great Surya festival and Me
I have been a chhathivrati since 1995 when incidentally (I had started it. One of my relatives from ex- sasur had said to bring car, I had purchased that year for going to Ghat. I was doubtful of morning rise and hence had decided to stay at his quarters. He had also requested me for kharna Prasad and then I decided to take fast- I had twin objects and was in advance to Lord Suryadev( that my estranged wife returned to me and I should not go to jail on false and frivolous cases related to her divorce suit which I had contested).
The former was not accepted by Suryadev but later He granted me, anyway a 50:50 case, maybe a pass mark for a medico - and as she was also a medico, god also favoured of fairer sex and she was awarded other husband!. I remember she adored Kunti as a character and today I read that because Kunti was a Shashti (including Karna having six-sons) who had observed this fast, it is observed on SHASHTI.
So many myths and stories for this great fast . My father used to tell us- It is Chhat Pita as is the worship of a male god Surya while people say it more as Chhati mai.
I gave arghya this time to Suryadev ,mostly as “Dinkaray namah,” my father was named thus on Surya as Dinkar who I lost this year!
Why Chhathi mata- In fact in eastern India, we are more Shakti worshipper and Adishakti is supposed to be the Progenitor of the World.
Some of the Puranas narrate thus as was said to me by Kiran Jha while she was enquiring me for preparing her role as CHHATI MATA in a documentary or song.
Well! In this way it is a festival of women empowerment and mostly females do fast. May be, for relieving males from the arduous fast. So some feminists may take it as women-disempowering too.
There are some Sun Temples, notably at Dev in Aurangabad district of Bihar and also at Badgaon in the district of Nalanda 2 km from Nalanda railway station and at Haria, 2 km from Narsaliganj in Navada district. These all are in Magadh area though in Mithila too many Surya idols have been found, one at Parsa in Madhubani is famous.
Konark’s Sun temple was attacked by Muslims and was stopped while in-making and no Pran-Pratishtha was done and hence is merely a tourist spot not a temple.
The Chhathi is now celebrated all over the country and many countries abroad though might have started from Magadh.
It has been politicized by some groups too and leaders are flocking to Puja more to have votes than to worship.
I am not a leader and I want to be conspicuously absent and usually go the the place where people hardly recognize me.
And also I never disturb my organizational schedule and try to adjust my time despite traveling.
NMO’s Silver Jubilee 2002 was held on Chhati day despite my protest executive okayed.
Wife of Dr. Narendra Mohan Singh, Prabha Singh now a BJP Councillor had arranged kharna for me and I had gone to Yamuna Ghat to offer evening arghya despite Ma. Sudarshanjee was on dais.
At Ghat, my friend and one time coworker, Ravishankar Prasad, then a Minister, met me and his security had objected to formal greet and meet as I was in a dhoti. Ravishankarjee prohibited security. The same night I went to Agra with Dr. Yogesh Goyal who escorted me to Ghat on his motorbike and from there I went straight to Tundla to catch my train to Ranchi which I would have missed at Delhi in early morning!
Today (Nov.5) is NMO’s Foundation day and I remember Dr. Goswami of Indore whose wife once fed me on kharna though not knowing what to give or not- she had a lot of fruits and milk and something from Haldiram’s too which I should not have taken having salt. The Chhati I had at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre’s Anushaktinagar where Biharis had dug an artificial pond.
I have seen so many ghats and have introduction with many in the Chhati connection. In 2006, I had kharna at Bangalore at the house of Sanjiv working in software. He hailed from Muzaffarpur and his mother used to have Chhati. The same night I went to Hyderabad where I was advised by Firan Jha to go to Ameerpeth. I reached there by bus and had evening arghya but returning again to the same ghat was not possible and I was asked by a CRPF personnel Sawaria of Muzaffarpur to go to his quarters where in the night I could read a very old version of Ramacharitmanas (Sawariya’s father had that copy) where in the introductory pages I learnt many things eg. 16 shringars include sindoor..and Ayurveda is upveda of Rig-Veda(I was thus far knowing as Upveda of Atharvaveda)..Sawariya insisted that I must have parna at his quarters and after that he provided me a seat to the vehicle going to the Nizam institute of Medicine where I met one person of Veda Bharati (who also confirmed about Ayurveda).
In 2007 I was posted at Bangalore and had kharna again at Sanjeev’s house in Suncity. For evening arghya, the next day I reached Sanky Tank from my office and as I was in tank, I overheard some rumblings. People told me that police had strongly objected and in the morning tank gates may not open.
I went to Sadashivnagar Police station and on behalf of the Antarrarshtriya Maihtili parishad lodged a petition for permission of chhatvratis from the appropriate authorities on urgent level. At last, the SHO permitted for 70-80 persons. As I had also reported the incident to Jeevanedra of the Rajasthan Patrika, it had a wide coverage and when I reached Bihar Bhavan, Opp.RT Nagar PO, the President of Siddhartha Sanskritik Parishad congratulated me as they all had read that news. There on the terrace, artificial water was made available for vratis and all were given parna food.
I feel this tendency of having Chhati in artificial water need discouraged as Chhati is a community festival where cooperation to each other is the mool mantra.
Rather pond cleaning should be done by voluntary efforts.
I had once Chhati at Charoda near Bhilai where my eldest bhauji resides. Rest of 9 times I had chhati at Ranchi’s ponds- button tank or near Shahid Maidan of HEC Sector II. Kharna always I had with some one else who was observing Chhati vrat but this time I had to cook kheer myself as Mrs. Rajnikant Choudhuri had gone to her daughter’s place-Guwahati.
It was a good experience and I fould my stomach was rather better tolerated with self cooked kheer and bananas and apples.
After the day OPD, I restd in my chamber and in the evening went straight to Ghat. Sanjesh Mohan Thakur could not reach there and again I was alone in the city where I am not so unknown. I put my mobile in the bag and asked a person of SAIL to watch my bag and I entered the pond. That man after some time left the place but my bag was safe.
I came out and thought to go to Laxman Raout (of Bhit Bhagwanpur whom I could know throw his son Nirmal, a student of RMC in 1980s while I was residing there and later had intense familial relations before I joined Maithuili movement) who had shown his inability to go to my residence to take milk kept for kharna when I had enquired him whether I could have kharna with his wife’s.
While I was in way, it came in my mind that Dr. Madan Jha ( a senior engineer of HEC hailing from village Gonouli which I had visited once) had his residence nearby the tank and went to his quarters just as atithi- a tithi(a guest- who has no fixed date) and they were happy. His wife too was observing fast and so it was easier to rise up in the morning and I offered arghya in the pond not that I did not have asked for humanly desires but also I prayed for my brothers’ and sisters’ families well being and also prayed for fulfillment of NMO’s objectives as well as Mithila state apart from universal bliss from the god, Suryadeva.
I was not committal as to stop doing Chhati fast from next year as my sister Bindu had asked me who enquired from Delhi on phone as to completion of each step but I do not know whether I can have this next year which only He knows and yes on return I had also Parna at the house of Dr. Madan Jha who had cooked early in the morning himself for me and his better half( who incidentally is from village Panchobh from where comes my one of the Bhaujis, daughter of Madan Choudhary) and I had the remembrance of the unknown house of Sanwaria of Hyderabad whom I will probably never meet again!

A Deepawali without Deepas
Hardly many choose to go out on Deepawali but I have to for saving my leaves and doing some organizational work for which Delhi is a favouritedestination as on Kali Puja there use to be meetings with cultural programme at sarita vihar organized by Bihar Sahyog Samiti(though predominantly done by Maithils) and at Faridabad by Mithila Navyuvak Sangh, Raman Jha is key organizer at Sarita vihar where I use to inaugurate the function for 4-5 years till last year when I had forgotten the date and had reached Delhi a day late after a car journey from Bangalore to Ranchi.
At Faridabad mostly local and one national leader is being invited every year and they give me full honour and a few minutes to speak also.

I would have loved to say that time that Mother Maithili has attracted him also in Her folds as the same Devendra had not signed a petition to Vajpayee for inclusion of Maithili in the VIII Schedule when I had gone to him with GuruMaitajee and Kamalkant jee. I had rebutted Devendra that his concern for unemployment and inflation and for Vajpayee had if any value that was lower to purs and true he had left NDA and not persons like us who though were non-political had appreciation for Vajpayee for his bold decision to give Maithili its due including it in the VIII Schedule.
The politicians have chameleon colours and that I saw in him advoicating for Maithili at Nagloi and Faridabad. True he could understand the power of Maithili as he had lost the same election held after the episode I narrated. Sometime I say(rather boast) that lalu lost due to me amking me an enemy by removing Maithili frm the BPSC that I entered in Maithili field from the NMO and Lalu had merely lowered 0.2 % ov his vote share- could it not be accounted to Maithili-lovers unity to which I was a significant contributor. I recall Dr. LN Jha from saharsa had told me on phone,”Ekota Lalten nahee jarlay, saharsa Commissanory me,” yes Saharsa had given him lesson bitter than Darbhangias did give!
I was not knowing who will be guest this year at Faridabad but the guest , Ram Chandra Khubtia, MP(Rajya Sabha from Orissa and Secretary, AICC) on getting poster for Mithila and Maithili Sandesh on dais said,” Every language should have its own area(state) and our fight for Maithili(Mithila) state should continue..(The exact version by Kripanand Jha’s referral of video)..
Though he had left for a meeting with Soniya Gandhi had he been there during my speech I would have added Vjapayee won hearts of Maithils by recognizing Maithili, Sonia too would get laurels if she gave us Mithila State.
My one liner however in his absence was directed to other leaders of Congress on dais that we Maithils thank Haryanavis for their appreciation of ours (and not criticizing us like Thakre) in making wealthy Haryana and I also warned that if any body dared to humiliate us they will loose as Maithils are decisive in 94 parliamentary constituencies- apart from 28 in Mithila, 64 others, including Faridabad. The 15-20 thousand crowd there cheered me. Of course I was not so strong in my criticism as young Bhardwaj of Youth Congress was criticizing Thakre.
In fact I am sorry that anyone from the state of Chhatrapati Shivaji can say like that. He should be ashamed on his wrong lessons in History and more so I am surprised over the reply of Manohar Joshi, former Speaker, in defense of Raj. I use to regard him a learned person but probably he needed a teacher who could slap him like my teacher slapped a friend of mine in geopgraphy class of IX

On listening to reply ‘Araiya’ he had slapped and said that it was ‘Kabala Datta( a destrt like place,’ after the court population started assembling, he said.

And for finding such opportunities I had decided to loose my Deepawali festival in journey to Delhi.
This journey to Delhi on 27th October 2008 night was not much different from others except that my luggage was packed with Aayurvigyan Pragati’s individual postal pack to some 1000 members and 400 medical and dental colleges of the country who needed information before ensuing Nov.15-16, 2008 XXXII National Conference of the NMO for which I am incessantly working since 14.8.1977.
I know the pain and pangs of any organizational process but it is still difficult at its 32nd year as many had forgotten that any organization is an action of karmyogis who many times are taken to be otherwise even if done with utmost detachment.
Anyway postal packs were made by my sister Bindu and maid, Punam, who had nothing to do with NMO. The full sacks and bags were loaded in the compartment at Ranchi railway station by Sanjesh Mohan Thakur, a teacher and organizing secretary of the AMP, Jharkhand, who got a cut by the sharp lace of the bundle of the Maithili Sandesh delivered just that evening. My sister Bindu was also with me.
On 28th morning, at Mugalsarai I took big bag on my shoulders to drop(maybe first medical editor for such endeavour) on the next plaftform at the RMS. It was a Deepawali holiday and I had to drop in the letter box maybe some 10 at a time. The box was mouthful, maybe for the first time in its existence which is opened many times a day otherwise.
After few ours at Kanpur, Prekant Jha, a teacher and member of the AMP came and I gave him Maithili Sandesh, posters for Mithila state and membership forms and went with him on the RMS on the same platform to drop magazines which was easy there .
I saw Deepawali at many places from the train, Etawah, Shikohabad, Hathras, etc. and notably at Aligarh, I remarked the houses not Deepawali were as if were of Muslims.
I remembered at Aligarh Dr. jagdish goyal’s family where I used to break my jouney or he used t come at platform but though our goals were same paths were different.
Most pf the houises had electic bulbs not earthen deeps as if Deepawali without Deepas!
I got a phone from a number I guessed from USA but Bindu after seeing 91 said from India’s but it was from Dr. Mahesh Dutta Jha’s from USA who advised me to write in the Organiser and Panchjanya on Mithila state.
Other missed call was from Dr. Ravindra Chaudhary, Jamshedpur whether having a separate flag for Mithila was not anti-national. No, I said that Karnataka and Tamilnadu have state flags and they were not less nationalists than anybody else.
At Tundla too some 30 magazines were dropped in a short time of 2 minutes and the rest I dropped at New Delhi RMS going there with Kripanand Jha, G Secy., AMP where separate box was also for local mail. I saw one address was slipped of Dr. Vinay Aggarwal whose Pushpanjali Hospital though I crossed after 2 days I had dropped the other journal at the JNU box I visited on 30th October.
It was too much late but Bindu’s husband, Vivekanand and Kripanand were waiting for us. I chose to go with Kripanand to his Mayur Vihar residence, adjacent to Lal Chandra’s which was my abode till he was happy there with Ritambhara.
I do not know future but usually those who are very close to me have hardly peaceful family life and I do not know why they learn this negative aspect from me and at times have negative behaviour with their wives when I had abundant love to my wife despite her saying me, Sayonara(Good Bye!).
It was too much late and going to my niece Gungun at NOIDA for giving a Deepawali surprise or to my cousin Gamnesh in nearby Phase III was not possible and we slept after having dinner around 130 am.
On 29t morning I called Hitendra Gupta who had expressed his desire to meet me. He was also in NOIDA and finally said that he would accompany us to Sarita Vihar.
First we went to MECON Towers(near Fortius Hospital) where BK Jha’Manpaur’ ,my old neighbour and JP Movement activist discussed and planned with Kripananad for supplying milk powder to Koshi victim children and filing PIL against Government for mishandling Koshi affairs. He is of the view that whole project be limited to India and we should work for distributing water not collecting that by making dams for hydoelecticity. I do not know much about the engineering implications of that and wish matter is discussed in depth.
I went to meet my Bhauji and niece for them my personal endeavor was needed I felt. Though and MBA from Indian School of Foreign Trade for her height 5’ 7.5” it has been difficult to find a suitable groom and my cousin, a great Hindi poet, Padmakar’s death in a railway accident has naturally this responsibility is on us and I was only ashamed to meet my niece without fulfilling my duties to her.
Kripanand and I went to Sarita Vihar and there was initially a small gathering but later joned by Balendu Arun Jha, my friend of JP movement days it was a good meeting. With him amny seniors and youngers had came for the meeting notably one Ratneshwar Jha who had seen Mithila posters somewhere in the train near Varanasi and was full of energy to suggest we need 1 crore such Mithili photo in every house and so Mithila Pag.
I feel even one lakh will do a dramatic change in Mithila psyche.
Balenduji appreciated my efforts more than I deserved and Kripanand said on the mention of reveared leader Bhogendra Jha that had his party won he might have been a Minister only but if had starteda Mihtila Party and got Mithila state destiny would have remembered him or anyone.
The same thing I told to one of the aspirant candidates for MP from JD(U) at Jhanjharpur, Dr.BK Jha who was introduced to me in the evening programme and had adviced Kiran Jha a candidate aspirant from the BSP . I told Dr. Jha that we would support the candidate who supports our demand of Mithila State, He was non committal.
I was surprised that he did not know NMO though passed from RMCH, Ranchi. It seems he had no extra curricular activity and now parties opt for such candidates who have no ideological past but green present..
And they choose one who had not worked for the area as if one worked might have some opponents but if not no opponent and only propositions and conjectures.
Kripanand said that Chankya had said that a politician should only say the thing which he could twist the other way in future.
I am not so and so I may be a Chankya and am searching for a Chandragupta.
But Kripanand said Gandhi(and later JP) had done wrong by not leading himself the country and we cannot leave Mithila at others’ mecry..We will have to take responsibility by entering in the political domain.
I did not say anything and was thinking – was I a true politician?
Probably not I am so. Sometimes back I had said Kiran if Mayawati choses me to oppose Manmohan or New Delhi constituency I may think for resigning my job!
Even at Faridabad I was introduced more as a Maithili worker than a doctor in service though only some persons know that I was trained by eminent medical teachers of the country!
She caught hold of that later that I was a politician that I do not know the truth.
The meeting at Sarita Vihar was concluded with Yatri’s song and oath as AMP worker. I hope much from the members who attended that. Some were amazed Yatri Nagarjuna had written for Mithila State.
Particular mention should be of one teacher who pointed several questions on inclusion of non-Nrahmins in the struggle to which I replied that is already there and more non-Brahmins had written their mother tongue as Maithili than Brahmins in 2001 cesus as it was almost trebled to the number of Brahmins in Mithila. However, we want workers on their quality and not on quota and that is in the AMP already.
Hitendra Gupta who was a silent spectator and a true Maithili blogger must have made up his mind as to what I say I mean and has given his report on blog which I will read on Monday.
He had reached the venue independently after we reached there.
The journey to and from Faridabad was on a speed natural for Kripanand unnatural for me but I remember my senior friend Govindacharya who once said to me that he never objects the speed of bike driver who knows his limits best but while returning I had Mother Kali’s big portrait framed in glasses and I had to take every caution that it reached safely and it reached so to its destination to my house at Ranchi .

Bhusar children

Bhusar children
I everyday pass a small river bridge to go to my duty place and thousands of vechiles do pass that but hardly people know that the river was named BHUSAR which I could know from a guide map located at the Shymali Colony enrance gate at North Office Para which is an accepted Hinglish (likewise South Office para named nrth and south of previous AG, Bihar which is now AG, Jharkhand and in fact there are so many offices there or anywhere in the caoital town that it was ifficult to say north or south of Office and that too of hich office you belonged to and rightly once my nationalst Maithili coworker Sajesh Mohan Thakur(hailing from Motia-Dumaria of Santhal Pargana’s Godda district) had oce told me that call those as DKHIN PARA and UTTAR PARA. In fact these names will be loved by a sizable Bengali community there though there is no famous Dakhinpara, Uttarpara is a famous place related to the Great Aurobindo who had given there memorable historical speech after coming out of Jail. Once I had gone there to see the plaque commemorating that historical incident in a library but being a Dashmi day of Durga Puja that was closed. Of course I saw the Bengali ladies rubbbg Colours(Gulal) to each others’ faces making them more beautiful!
Anyway I was talking for Bhusar which I crss daily- in fact crossing ‘Bhu’ eart daily not only ‘sar’ or river! I had taken nirmal(the withered flowers and other puja materials as well cut photographs of gods from newspapers and marriage invitation cards etc. which I usually do Jal pravah for keeping their honour intact.
When I threw the plastic pack this morning in the river water it was swayed away a little and I was thinking a day my body or panda will be swayed in water just like I saw my parents’ in the river Swarnrekha of which surely Bhusar tributary will meet somewhere. I saw rag pickers caught it out of water and found nothing of their use. I asked them to throw that in river water and they did.
I had two coins in my pocket (which I had thought to give to shared auto while going to Argora-Ashoknagar for a work in the SBI there) and I wanted to give them one
those. I threw one coin on the delta like sand below and the little girl found that. I asked the boy to come and shouted ,”Catch,” and lo! the nephew of Dhoni caught that so well!(Yes, that is the point exactly where Indian skipper would have been muttering while like a child them and the famous sanjay Sweet was there nearby who is his friend!
I as a doctor of the company where Dhoni’s father worked in the water station( just nearby my old quarter) have proud in him. However, I think whether Dhoni was also not a Bhusar boy like I saw both . Yes, there face was excited even with that one coin- one may tell me miser that inflated coin will bring hardly anything even in the just came era of recession but still a coin has some meaning for many children of BHUSAR. Long live my Bhusar boys! Have you a good Deepawali! Though I am going to Delhi today I recall a very poor family at NOIDA’s roadside where once I had seen a Deep in a hut, worshipping Laxmi. I did that worship yesterday and also worshipped Lord Dhanwantari’s photo after a pradosh fast(though took sweet and juice at a house visited first time) . My sister told me to immerse the little idols of Ganesha and Laxmi after I return from Delhi. Immersion is postponed not pre-poned she said. I will see whether little BHUSAR boys will be again there to take a catch of coins…

Of course I saw the Bengali ladies rubbbg Colours(Gulal) to each others’ faces making them more beautiful!
Anyway I was talking for Bhusar which I crss daily- in fact crossing ‘Bhu’ eart daily not only ‘sar’ or river! I had taken nirmal(the withered flowers and other puja materials as well cut photographs of gods from newspapers and marriage invitation cards etc. which I usually do Jal pravah for keeping their honour intact.
When I threw the plastic pack this morning in the river water it was swayed away a little and I was thinking a day my body or panda will be swayed in water just like I saw my parents’ in the river Swarnrekha of which surely Bhusar tributary will meet somewhere. I saw rag pickers caught it out of water and found nothing of their use. I asked them to throw that in river water and they did.
I had two coins in my pocket (which I had thought to give to shared auto while going to Argora-Ashoknagar for a work in the SBI there) and I wanted to give them one
those. I threw one coin on the delta like sand below and the little girl found that. I asked the boy to come and shouted ,”Catch,” and lo! the nephew of Dhoni caught that so well!(Yes, that is the point exactly where Indian skipper would have been muttering while like a child them and the famous sanjay Sweet was there nearby who is his friend!
I as a doctor of the company where Dhoni’s father worked in the water station( just nearby my old quarter) have proud in him. However, I think whether Dhoni was also not a Bhusar boy like I saw both . Yes, there face was excited even with that one coin- one may tell me miser that inflated coin will bring hardly anything even in the just came era of recession but still a coin has some meaning for many children of BHUSAR. Long live my Bhusar boys! Have you a good Deepawali! Though I am going to Delhi today I recall a very poor family at NOIDA’s roadside where once I had seen a Deep in a hut, worshipping Laxmi. I did that worship yesterday and also worshipped Lord Dhanwantari’s photo after a pradosh fast(though took sweet and juice at a house visited first time) . My sister told me to immerse the little idols of Ganesha and Laxmi after I return from Delhi. Immersion is postponed not pre-poned she said. I will see whether little BHUSAR boys will be again there to take a catch of coins…

Thakre's arrest(who now hardly needs writing Raj and his one point programme for popularizing himself is achieved at the cost of the life of a young student who incidentally was from the state of Bihar).
To me there is nothing as BIHARI or Marathi- the nationality of India is one which was originally as BHARATI called in Vishnupuran..
"Uttarm yat samdudrasya, Himadraischaiv dakshinam
Varsham tad Bharatam nam, BHARATI ysay Santatih.."
(North of ocean, south of Himalayas is the land called Bharat the offspring of which is BHARATI.)
In fact, Bharati and Hindu is interchangeable and hence Bharat was later called as Hindustan which became more so after deducting a PAKISTAN on the name of religion.
This BHARATI probably with Yavan factor( i.e. = Y) became Bhartiya..and that is our nationality.
Rightly somebody has commented Indian states are for administrative reasons though fact is that this administration should be cohesive as well and hence, language was taken a major yardstick for rearranging states and that is subject to revision as per democratic way and people like me had supported creation of Jharkhand and are demanding Mithila state which though has a Vedic and epical history and geography was merged in so called Bihar in 1329 after a Muslim onslaught by Gia -Suddin Tuglaque.
I feel Bihar like other bigger states needs bifurcation rather trifurcation creation of Mithila(adding some districts from Jharkhand too), Magadh and Bhojpur(adding Purvanchal area of UP).
Bihar had no history of antiquity and hence calling People of Bihar origin seems ridiculous- then why not People of Bengal origin(till 1912 even Orissa was part of Bengal presidency which had present Bengladesh too)..
Looking at the history from a biased angle will result confrontation only which should be seen scientifically.
People like Raj Thakre needed to be ignored who has no knowledge of culture of India though Shiv Sena pleaded for Hinduism..
Minus present Bihar's Mithila where will stand Hinduism?

Even among the atheist six Hindu philosophies( three of Buddhas, born of a Lichhavi father and one of Mahavir Jain of Vaishali ; both from southern parts of Mithila - Maithili(and its daughter language Bangla starts from Budhha's Chryapad( Gan o doha) sang by Vikramshila's Buddhist Monks of Mithila and equally it was debated and uprooted in the land by Vartiks and Teekas of Kumaril and Meemansa of Prabhakar, Murai Mishra and Mandan-Bharati who had historical debate with Adi shankaracharya.
Vachaspati I (of Andhra Thadhi)'s Bhamati ( an immortal treatise on the name of his wife) is uniquely preserved in the Sarswati Mahal(Library)at Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu.
Udayanacharya of Kariyan(Samastipur) was one who challenged Lord Jagannath that only he could save Him from Buddhist onslaughts and that he did so by non-violent debates that today no native of Mithila is a traditional Buddhist.
Jyotirishwa's Varnrtanakar written in 1330 AD is the first prose(and encyclopedia) in any north Indian language. Mithila's Panji(marriage registration records) is unique.
Vidyapati's (1380-1460) songs are immortal.
Vachaspati II from my ancestral village Samaul had 41 books and hence highest degree (D.Litt/ D.Sc./MD) are conferred on his name Vidya Vachaspati/ VIjnan Vachaspati/ AAyurvigyan Vachaspati.
Navy-Nyay(New Law) system of Mithila had Gangesh Upadhyay, Pakshdhar Mishra, Pt. Bhavnath Mishra(who never asked anything hence called Ayachi) and his son Shankar Mishra(whose famous Balaoham Jagdanandah name bala saraswati, apurne Panchame Varshe, Varnayami jagatrayam..Though I am a child, not even completed five years, my intellect is not so, I can decrine three Lokas)..and then Varddhman, Laxmidhar, Halayudh, Shreedutta, Chadeshwar's wisdome have no parrellel.
Even in British period Mithila's Umapati's Parijat Haran, Goboinddas's Music and Chanda Jha's Mithila Bhasha Ramayan are superb.
If any Maithil has today to got to Mumbai(a dowered island for a Portuguese princess to English Prince) it is merely mismanagement.
In spite of the added glory of Ashoka of Magadh and valor of Bhojpur –the land of Kunwar Singh and JP , I do not feel to call myself a Bihari which technically I am (that word is also from Vihar and has Maithili's stump to call Bihar like Bikramshila for Vikramshila), I feel Thakre's bias are unwarranted and any person supporting him need introspection whether he/she is fit to call offspring of great Shivaji or Tukaram.
I am not against any area or language as I know all sing glory of Bharat Mata.
Let us isolate such from the mainstream thinking of India.

My Paper -cuttings
My Paper -cuttings
I was awake till midnight last night for sorting out the newspapers piled up for long both from which I had cut some information and yet to.
I do not since when this habit I have but surely was reinforced after I read Md. Ali Jinnah had this quality. Once I met one advocate activist for Human Rights who said that he us to cut newspapers every night but for me it is a task done after weeks or even months.
I had classified them well in various categories medical and non-medical information, science, astrology, spiritual, history, politics(developmental only otherwise one will have to keep all papers as they are usually filled with that), persons(of eminence), management, arts, sports, archeology, history, astronomy, Bihar, Nepal , literature, Sanskrit, and some more which also depicts my areas of interest.
And my room is filled with such cuttings mostly of the Times of India and that is for over decades might be and have many rare things there as why 108 japas(because sun’s and moon’s diameter is around 108 times of the distance from earth).

I saw a Bhojpuri channel Mahua only two days back while I was at someone’s house. Usually I do not watch TV. I was surprised that a Punjabin (looking like so) was reading news in chaste Bhojpuri and even my friend Ravi Shankar Prasad, former Minister, GOI, was addressing the media in chaste Bhojpuri.
I liked it as Bhojpuri is spoken by a vast community in our country and abroad and I wish them all success.
However, an imagination came to my mind whether any Maithili Channel will come, named as MAKHAN which was so important for that festive Kojagra days. Let us hope some persons come up with it.
While on Indo_Nepal border in Mithila region, I saw persons fan of FM Channels like Hello Mithila, Janakpur Mithila etc. where Ramaulibali and Raghopurbali were famous serials where their roles as putohu or bhaujis must have been marvelous which has popularized Maithili without any pen or paper. Some words in Nepali FM’s had peculiar words like Pakrau gel chhaik for got arrested.

It is a wish which I do not know when would be fulfilled to connect Jharkhand with the interiors of Mithila.
I was busy in signature campaign for regularizing Jaynagar- Ranchi train till I reached Barauni on 12th – say for six hours to have some 400 signatures. Probably the mobile number will help me to talk the persons of various villages for any organizational/personal need.
We had to submit the signatures to the Railway Minister, GOI through the DRM, Hatia and by the time formalities were over I was again late for my health centre and had to skip lunch though I had taken two guavas and few biscuits at Maheshwar Shji’s house while our learned State president Dr. Guneshwar Jha was explaining the various avtars in one’s life time and also the significance of those and I was on net there. I had commented listening to him partly that sounded like Heckle’s famous saying, “ontogeny repeats phylogeny,”meaning a person repeats in his/her life the evolutionary cycle of man.
Since I could not pay attention to him I have just asked him on phone- his analogy sounds interesting:
Matsyavatar=While a foetus in the mother’s abdomen
Kacchapavatar= when a baby crawls with 4 limbs(2 hands and two legs)
Varahavatara= till baby has no sense of distinction between faeces or food
Narsinghavatara= when a bay is a bit grown and scrubs others or picks up glasses of elders if taken in arms
Vamanavatara= when baby starts asking for something
Parshuramavatara= when baby shows anger
These all stages till aged 5 after which comes
Ramavatara= needing two gurus one for Shaastra/Brahmjnan (like Vashishtha) and the other for Shastra(weapon) jnan(like Vishwamitra)
The whole teaching of Hindu philosophy is:
Matridevo Bhav
Pitridevo Bhav
Acharyadevo Bhav= Jnan
Atithidevo Bhav= Socialization
Ramavatara signifies tyag, achar, sadachar(sacrifice and good conduct) which had made Ram as Maryadapurushottam
While Krishnavatara signifies prem, karuna, daya( love, compassion and empathy) and hence, is called Krishnam Vande Jagadguru.
These both Avatars are till age 55 (or retirement from service) after which
Buddhavatara supervenes in life which is meant for introspection.
After age 75 is Kalki avatara in life when senses (indriyas) do not work and person has only sense of rights.
It seems while on computer I forgot that Dr. Jha was describing the Jivan (Life) Express and its various stations as avatars while I busy for the Maithili Express in my mind.
In fact in the afternoon, I had anger on non-availability of DRM, and I had anger on his PS Henry(who in fact did not inform us to wait to meet him and thougy we were till late there he did not give importance even seeing such a delegation of dignitaries of the town) for which I had lodged a complain too but when in the evening I had a telephonic talk with the DRM Sri A. K.Dutta(as had been suggested by Dr. Jha) I felt he was sympathetic to our petition to the Railway Minister and informed me that around 200 had congratulated him on phone for the train and he himself belonged to Samastipur and was also anxious for Jogbani. I told him that I belonged to Forbesganj and in fact after 11 years I could visit my ancestral village in Madhubani, due to Puja special for which we were thankful ti railways. Whenever I recall the sonorous Maithili in every compartment of that train on 12th October, I feel Maithili Express would be the fittest name for such a regular train though e have not mentioned that in our memorandum.
There are so many persons are anti-Maithli while Maithili is mother of all- jagajjanani, the Universal Mother!
In the evening I took my lunch and went out to meet Dr. Ashok Jha of Ghoghardiha. I saw news in the papers ours mixed with other Maihtil group which too had gone to the DRM the same day maybe in the afternoon. Wile there demand for Diwali and Chhath special we did not raise (as it was known to me from some sources that it was on the anvil seeing the success of Puja special), we had asked for regular train to Jaynagar may be half of that goes to Jogbani as well.

We had to submit the signatures to the Railway Minister, GOI through the DRM, Hatia and by the time formalities were over I was again late for my health centre and had to skip lunch though I had taken two guavas and few biscuits at Maheshwar Shji’s house while our learned State president Dr. Guneshwar Jha was explaining the various avtars in one’s life time and also the significance of those and I was on net there. I had commented listening to him partly that sounded like Heckle’s famous saying, “ontogeny repeats phylogeny,”meaning a person repeats in his/her life the evolutionary cycle of man.
Since I could not pay attention to him I have just asked him on phone- his analogy sounds interesting:
Matsyavatar=While a foetus in the mother’s abdomen
Kacchapavatar= when a baby crawls with 4 limbs(2 hands and two legs)
Varahavatara= till baby has no sense of distinction between faeces or food
Narsinghavatara= when a bay is a bit grown and scrubs others or picks up glasses of elders if taken in arms
Vamanavatara= when baby starts asking for something
Parshuramavatara= when baby shows anger
These all stages till aged 5 after which comes
Ramavatara= needing two gurus one for Shaastra/Brahmjnan (like Vashishtha) and the other for Shastra(weapon) jnan(like Vishwamitra)
The whole teaching of Hindu philosophy is:
Matridevo Bhav
Pitridevo Bhav
Acharyadevo Bhav= Jnan
Atithidevo Bhav= Socialization
Ramavatara signifies tyag, achar, sadachar(sacrifice and good conduct) which had made Ram as Maryadapurushottam
While Krishnavatara signifies prem, karuna, daya( love, compassion and empathy) and hence, is called Krishnam Vande Jagadguru.
These both Avatars are till age 55 (or retirement from service) after which
Buddhavatara supervenes in life which is meant for introspection.
After age 75 is Kalki avatara in life when senses (indriyas) do not work and person has only sense of rights.
It seems while on computer I forgot that Dr. Jha was describing the Jivan (Life) Express and its various stations as avatars while I busy for the Maithili Express in my mind.
In fact in the afternoon, I had anger on non-availability of DRM, and I had anger on his PS Henry(who in fact did not inform us to wait to meet him and thougy we were till late there he did not give importance even seeing such a delegation of dignitaries of the town) for which I had lodged a complain too but when in the evening I had a telephonic talk with the DRM Sri A. K.Dutta(as had been suggested by Dr. Jha) I felt he was sympathetic to our petition to the Railway Minister and informed me that around 200 had congratulated him on phone for the train and he himself belonged to Samastipur and was also anxious for Jogbani. I told him that I belonged to Forbesganj and in fact after 11 years I could visit my ancestral village in Madhubani, due to Puja special for which we were thankful ti railways. Whenever I recall the sonorous Maithili in every compartment of that train on 12th October, I feel Maithili Express would be the fittest name for such a regular train though e have not mentioned that in our memorandum.
There are so many persons are anti-Maithli while Maithili is mother of all- jagajjanani, the Universal Mother!
In the evening I took my lunch and went out to meet Dr. Ashok Jha of Ghoghardiha. I saw news in the papers ours mixed with other Maihtil group which too had gone to the DRM the same day maybe in the afternoon. Wile there demand for Diwali and Chhath special we did not raise (as it was known to me from some sources that it was on the anvil seeing the success of Puja special), we had asked for regular train to Jaynagar may be half of that goes to Jogbani as well.
I think such a train if named MAITHILI Express and goes alternately to Jaynagar, Jogbani, Saharsa and Narkatiaganj in for 2, 2.1 days every day will bind Jharkhandi people with Maithils and what better can be the name of the train than MAITHILI by which Balmiki had addressed j Mother Janki in the Ramayana.
Jivan (Life) Express (avtars in life)forgotten for ‘Maithili Express’
It is a wish which I do not know when would be fulfilled to connect Jharkhand with the interiors of Mithila.
I was busy in signature campaign for regularizing Jaynagar- Ranchi train till I reached Barauni on 12th – say for six hours to have some 400 signatures. Probably the mobile number will help me to talk the persons of various villages for any organizational/personal need.

Inauguration of the office of the AMP, Jharkhand State
On 14.10.2008, around 10 am, teacher Amarnath Jha reminded me for inauguration of the Jharkhand State, AMP, office which I had deferred during Pitripksha on 21st September.
In fact, I had forgotten that and was under the Mithila-trans. I phoned many and expected around 10 in the hurriedly called function. There were a few more than that number. Ramekbal Snbgh ‘Vineet’, former deputy editor, the Ranchi Express, presided over the function crushed the coconut and we sang , ‘Jai Jai Bhairavi Asur Bhayauni…’and then had Makhan, Mithai and Pan on the eve of Kojagra.
He narrated how he had started Mathili Vikash Parishad in 1992 and had stimulated me to join that judging me a selfless person. Maheshwar Sah, VP,AMP, Jharkhand, Satish Chandra Mishra, President,AMP, Ranchi , Janardan Jha and Chandra prakash Jha from Ashoknagar , Ashoknagar, Ajay Kr. Jha, Secretary, AMP, Ranchi, Sanat Kr. Jha, Saharsa Mitra Mandal(AMP),Ranchi and me were persons came out of Harmu.
The room has been provided by Dharmeshwar Jha, a retd. Teacher expected that activities will boom from there.
Dhirendra Mishra, retd. IAS, VP, AMP, Jharkhand, though could not come due to last minute problem wished good work of AMP in his inaugural message on mobile.
Local workers were there like Rajni Kant Choudhary, a senior lawyer, Maharudra Jha who had recently organized my meeting at his village Nagdah ,Pramod Jha, Bhogendra Jha etc. and notably Achutanand Thakur, an old uncle of mine from my village whose daughter in law Kusum Thakur had greeted me in the day on completion of my cycle yatra in Mithila. I mentioned her name to him and he was delighted. He recalled in 1996 when at Madhubani he had seen some activities on my ancestral land where in that evening Jaykant Mishra from Allahabad had said,”without Mithila state Maithili and Maithils have no future,” I read that in this morning while collecting issues of Maithili Sandesh.
Everyone wished a good work of AMP. Advocate Chandra Prakash Jha who has keen interest in books and ancient treasures of Mithila was designated Office secretary who would open office every evening.
The address of office is: Behind D-110, MIG, Arvindnagar, Harmu Housing Colony, Ranchi 834002 (only 3 minutes walk from Sahjanand Chowk).
Hope soon the area will be identified reversely not by the Jangbahadur khatal and no one would have trouble of searching the place like we had.
In the end we took Oath as AMP worker and repeated Mithila Prayer of Baidyanath Mishra ‘Yatri.’

On 14th October 2008, it was Kojagra( Ko jagarti who is awake is watched by Mother Laxmi and for that the doors are kept open to welcome her).
My sister was at kolkata for kojagra function and Rajnikant Choudhari, Satish Mishra , Maheshwar sah and me greeted her and her husband, Vivekanada.
Mrs. Rajnikant Chowdhary had invited me for the fuction’s Prasad but I could not go rather while returning from just opened Antarrashtriya Maithili Parishad, Jharkhand State office we spent a few minutes at the office of the Jharkhand Maithili Manch where Saras was reciting his poem on Kusha breech of Koshi.
On return to my house, I too did open the doors ( and even gate afterwards) ; I had a bath and puja of Mother Laxmi. I was also scared that even if I did not expect money a deprivation of that would not be good for me.
There is no Laxmi in my house- I am a single. My Laxmi had already left me long back and the one other Laxmi whom I phoned last night cut that in 38 seconds and asked in the morning as to why I had phoned. Her condition was unacceptable to me and I said not to phone her again!
It is said if you run to Laxmi , Laxmi will run away from you.

While coming from my chamber to residence I saw no car plying on road ; schools were closed and coming to library looked as if curfew was self-imposed – Advani visiting the town. What a scene for welcoming a person in waiting PM? Advani is not an atanki( a terrorist)!
Had I been on his position and age would have hardly cared even for my life which would have been too short to count even if I would have been of his age. A friend and coworker of my uncle in Rajasthan, Advani commands respect. Vajpayee too but probably he was more acceptable as his tongue was sweet and oratory superb.
I watched Advani’s huge posters and disliked personality projection above ideals and for that matter I never liked Vajpayee’s posters too.
PP Guruji (MS Golwalkar) had written in his last letter no statue/monument be erected after his death. His that simplicity has not been followed in the glare of westernization even by those who are opposed to that from the core of their hearts.
