My longest mobile call(1:26:28)
on 26th December 2011, received a missed call of a youth from Delhi and I confused with his same named worker from Ranchi who had to be explained about some photographs for calendar 2012 by Jharkhand Maihtili manch .
who was insistent on the training of Mithilakshar which we impart one session in the Maithili workers' Training camp.
I explained him it was on our priority as we feel Devnagari was also ok for Maihtili and Mithila was our goal.
As his call had came when I was offering my puja and then was to start for camp I did spoke in not so polite words and when I was searching the number of call of the widow of Markandey Pravasi who had come to reside Ranchi with her journalist daughter. I had some other nuber which could not be saved as sim was already full.
When on 28th evening I tried a number it was from the same energetic youth who had met me some 12-15 years back when I had gone to his father’s place.
We talked a lot on Mithilakshar, Maithili and Mithila and on problems our organization is unduly facing by outsider and insiders .
I advised him to have some membership on which any organization is structured but he was not ready to ask money for that, even as cheque or transfer to bank.
I told him that then he needed deep consideration as any worker cannot have that attitude- he should collect money, spend money and present account(and that is problem AMP is facing with some on which we are very rigid.

When I reached my hose late night (around 9 pm), a worker from Godda was coming out and he said that such long talk was not good from health point(I also remembered about its correlation with brain tumour though before that I was thinking that I would have to pay big bill only and that I took too much of workers’ time, must be his battery exhausted like mine which needed several hours to be full again).
Fearing from tumour and or bill, I decided not to call till jan.1(when unnecessarily I would be greeted when I do not consider my New Near Jan.1.
I had asked workers too be choosy in their words in the training camp but here I was myself at fault

113th Mithila Jagaran yatra- Godda -

On 6th December 2011 morning, I had to take early morning bus for Godda and despite I planned to have puja there I did not sleep much and around 4 am I was awoke and till Pravin was awoke I finished my bath and Puja in a chilly weather.

At bus stop Rupesh left me in High_tech bus which started before Praveen and Ranjeet could come and soon I felt urge of seeing my bag’s mouth to avoid slippage and then again for a shawl that the side seated person objects- resulting my protest that those had sufficient cause to give him inconvenience. Usually the little educated, so-called some developed persons have amazing strokes of the convinences.

Anyway in the most of the way I was sleeping and reached Bhagalpur .

There soon I got other bus for Godda and journey was a convenient one. For sometime in the way I watched and videoed the procession of Muharram like last year I had at Benipatti area.

The chanda collection by youth is same like that of Hindu boys on Saraswati Puja.

Crossing Biha-Jharkhand gate at Panjwara, I felt it should be demolished as both were in Mithila and Mithila Jharkhand boundry needs redrawn.

There was atime in 2004 when JD(U) was offering me a Loksabha Ticket from Godda and I was about to tender VRS that in the precding night the party of Ramdayal Munda and Soorasj mandal meged in JD(U) and my ticket was cancelled in favour of Sooraj mandal- He did not win and Muda sided to Congress later. The socialists do not know the workers and are always loosing grounds. I might have won in htat triangle( with Yadav and a Muslim) I divulged in the Vidyapati Bhavan in that afternoon in a meeting arranged by Sarvjeet Jha who has a large collection of news cuttings of his work in different fields which I suggested a classification.



While going to meeting I was introduced to a freedom fighter Maheshwar Jha and I intervieved him . He had been in 1942 movement and later studied and retired as a govt. servant, rarely such thing is seen.

With him I visited Jagdamba temple before Vidaypati Bhavan where he blessed us for Mithila state and demanded Maithili’s second language status in Jharkhand also.

The meeting decided to have a state level conference on January 24, 2012 for Second language struggle.

I took a bus for Jasidih and seeing Hansdiha and other area in the way was again at Babanagari but crossed that without a stop- you can see Him only if He gives you a chance!

At Jasidih I was for long to take my train Patliputra express where I had no reservation and only at Bokaro I could get space to sleep.

Mithila Jagaran yatra 114_Forbesganj & as Appendix_ Patna



This Yatra was intended primarily for the Vidyapati parv, Biratnagar I described yesterday but going to Patna was for Sagar raati deep jaray(alredy mailed my comments) and for the executive committee of the AMP.

From Biratnagar,with LN Meht, ex-MLA, I had decided to return to Forbesganj . Shri Sukhdeo paswan ex-MP, Araria was also to return and Mehta preferred to return in Sukhdeoji’s car and in Mehta’s car I was with a Sikh Ranjit Singh. I talked about the wrong notion with ,Hindu Muslim Sikh Isaai,’ sab bhai-bhai when Sikhs are Hindus only.

At Subhash Chowk LN Mehta came in his car and went to drop me to my home opposite post office where I had been again 2 minutes just to meet caretaker widow Brahmani and could see the top of the late father’s room was dismantled and needed in fact reconstruction.

Mehtaji was with me and I suggested for the next Antarrashtriy maithili sammelan at my home where a school ran but he said that he would provide sarvajanik Pustakalaya building and campus which will be better. Sudhirnath Mishra also talked him on this issue when I went with him to his house and had bath and puja due since morning. After heavy dahi-rosugullah food was not required but from a Maihtil’s house a guest cannot come without food. Thankfully I had simple food. Mehtaji went in his car to see off me to Forbesganj station. I took a ticket to Patna junction and enquired from the TTE for a berth but chart would have been with the TTE from Jogbani and I preferred to enter the coach and could get upper space to even sleep though there was a rush of migrant labours to Punjab and many young to Patna for various work. After Araria many young persons came and two came to sit near my legs and somehow I could complete my journey. At the evening I had phoned some 5-6 persons for my Patna programme bit surprisingly none replied. Among them two(Shailendra singh and Nagendraji ) replied when at Patna junction I had already my bath and puja. I had just spread my towel and had a premonition that anyone might take that and lo just when I was about to start a Cooley took that. I went chided him for that and took back and then gave it to that with an internal pleasant mood that I would not require to take that wet cloath and somebody would use. However the attachment of a person is with such things that one wants to preserve each and every thing.

I came out and went to Mahavir Temple and had a pooja there.

I took auto and reached Novelty & Co. where Narendra Jha was waiting for me for my write up related to some maithili organization. He is a smoker and I cannot stand by that and when he started smoking I took leave to meet Dr. Narendra Prasad, surgeon and we had a long talk. I presented him a copy of my Gita in Maihtili and gave him a profile of Neha(Chitra’s friend) for forwarding that to his Chitragupt group(finding a groom for 5’8” is diffivcult inm any community).

I came back to narendra babu who left me near to Patliputraputra Club where Dr. samrendra Jha was waiting with Dr. Vishw rattan, 2 years senior to me, a cricket of my college at darbhanga and we had a long talk on general issues.

Samrendra took me to his clinic where I talked with him for long and listened to his memoire how a doctor is not paid for his work and he too has family to rear up. There also came a Maihtil from saharsa but he too did not give him fee.

Samrendra took me to his house where his daughter Smridhhi presented food to us. Samrendra left me to co-operative fFederation Hall, near Museum for story reading night ful session (Sagar Raati Deep Jaray) and was awoke whole night there.



I boycotted that in the last strory when a Jha started abusing Vedas through his hero and derogated the great Mandan Mishra.

I went to the room there meant for us and had my bath and sandhya puja and took rest whole day.

The executive committee of the AMP meeting at Patna was fixed assuming at least 5 such participants in that literary meet but only 2 were present there( President Kamalkantji and me which could not be held due to Sudhirnathji’s son’s sudden illness and Premkantji’s missing of the Patna train. Nor does the organizers at Patna had done ground work despite their assurances. An alternative venue fixed by a new person could be communicated only in the afternoon of 11th. For the AMP it was first such occasion but in a limited membership of the attendees if most of the persons are absent, a meeting could not be held even otherwise.

I was an invitee for evening reception of a Maithil IAS’s son and daughter-in law but because the invitation card was not in maithili I preferred not to go to there and came directly to station to find my berth in the night train to get up neat Ranchi despite whole day rest and some sleep (discontinued due to phone talks with many workers and friends).

I call this as an appendix to Mithila jagaran yatra not only because I was awoke whole night with Maithili story tellers, I feel patna is just like appendix of Mihtila’s body(the capital but of no use to Mithila) and that can be cut off like the useless appendix of the body, a vestigial organ (though some use of that has been recorded but once a panic pain abdomen, it is to be removed and which more than Nithilka can record pain for each thing, a continued story of neglect.

In brief-

Reached Bhagalpur on 9th morning(after 7-8th stopover at Ranchi was in a hanging over mood) –in the way a Barnwal of Jaina More’s .medical profession(a shop) divulged me as a doctor and was impressed by my sukhi roti and saag and invited me to come once Jaina more..

I got a bus for Purnea and reached there, on 6th a retired maithil teacher of Purnea had requested for a copy of my Maithiligita and I had asked him to be at bus stand – and he was there near starting bus for Forbesganj( he took a bundle of 50 to distribute/ sell and made me relieved of heavier luggage to a manageable one- at Ranchi the pressman could not reach to deliver 2000 Mihtila pamphlets needed for 21st December Delhi dharna and was probably to take my convenience).

The bus took 3 hours to cover 68 kilometer and I became angry at Araria on bus conductor and warned him of recommending cancellation of permit for undue waiting to overload bus.

I reached Forbesgan around 11 and in a trecker was for Jogbani.

Previous evening I had requested Putul Mishra for my speech at morning assembly of Mihtila Public school but seeing late had cancelled at 8 am from Purnea.

Jogbani is a border town and has much developed since visited there in 1994. The road and market was full of Nepali ladies in different costumes doing marketing.

In a Nepali bus I reached Biratnagar’s Bhumi Prashanshan Chowk and listened Vidyapati sangeet on loudspeakers and searching the field reached there and after many security check up(I am not a Kalam that anybody can object also) as the HE Vice President Parmanad Jha was to come.

Praveer Narayan Choudhary announced my name with reverence and as I was a well known face of the local workers all were enthused on my coming.

Biratnagar was only 20 kilometer from my home Forbesganj where I was born and had visited many times before including Maithili work and here I had for the forst time on 22nd Decembar 2000 I had spoken loudly for a Mithili state in Nepal in the presence of Jhalanath Khanal who later became Prime Minister of Nepal in recent past. 1960s

Successor of Khanal, Baburam Bhattarai had sent Ramrijhan Yadav, his media advisor with his long welcome speech. Ramrijhan has been AMP’s worker and when he came to me I told him that in AMP it was known to him that secretaries are changed after 2-3 conferences and even if he would have come to jainagar a change was imminent but he remained a core group member. We do not remove any worker(unless one leaves) only we change his working profile.

Rambharosh Kapri, the dioyen of Maihtil work greeted me and so was there Baijuji, my kutumb who gave a long speech (and he is a mass leader of his locality of Darbhanga). It was good that he did not utter there for Sugauli Treaty’s undone as was his habit.

After his long speech, I was asked to say and briefly I said

1. Congratulated VP and Matrika yadav for their stand on oath taking (other than Nepali in Hindi and Maithili)

2. Birat’s place make us reverent alike Nepali Hindus too and hence I wished Maihtil people not to be antagonistic to Nepali speaking Hindus(and there were Nepali speaker like great litterateur Bhanubhankt Pokhrail who thought his luck his book released on Vidaypati’s day and Mahesh Regmi)

3. A separate state of Mithili in Nepal wihout interfering international boundary(I promised the VP saying some splinter group’s dissent not Sugauli need not be taken seriously as the view of the AMP was binding on almost all Maithils).

4. Remembered Vidyapati who had written Debur bhangi Masid Bnadhi and that majority Hindus are making both countries secular be noted.

HE VP parmanad Jha spoke like a great leader of Mithila, a great son of Mithila and said Vidaypati’s birthplace was in India but work place in Nepal’s Banuli state and hence [postal stamp on him, naming of Tarai Highway on him, a corpus of Rs. 10 million on his name and so many things but asked to work for inclusion of Maithili in Nepal Lok Seva Ayog.



Many speakers, including Sukhdev paswan, ex MP from Araria and LN Mehata ex MP from Fornesganj from India spoke in favour of a Mithila state in India and so many gallantries of Nepal- Karuna Jha, loan lady on dais asked Mithila on the geographical map, (to be continued)..



Later I congratulated HE VP , Nepal as he spoke so clearly on many terms which politicians usually avoid and in fact was of useful to be the Maithils of both countries. (I am surprised at many instances of the Indian Maithil leaders who on getting some posts are keeping silence over the issues they had been fighting).

I found Nepal is in turmoil and they are more conscious for their number and position than Indian counterparts who are almost sleeping at the time of censuses.

MP of Nepal Jayshankar Yadav(names I am forgetting) put strong notes on the plight of Mithilavasis.



One of the ex-MP Mandal criticized my view of having amity with Nepali brethrens. I know they have been tortured by them but let me say again that hatred is not the answer to hatred and a divided Nepal (on the name of Madhes/ Hill) will be disastrous for Terai Maithils as well as to India . Let us hope we Maithils are strong enough in both countries that nobody can torture us and in a democratic set up we have numbers provided we are not divided amongst ourselves on the name of castes. We may have many castes we all are sanatani (Hindu) Maihtils. I did not use Hindu word with stress there but reminded that Nepal ’s king had been authourized to enter garbhgrih of Rameshwaram or Jagannathpuri. I also reminded that Golwalkar of RSS had a vow not to go abroad(and when such time came he sent Deen dayal and Atal instead) but used to go to Nepal saying that is not foreign but his home and even his disciple Vajpayee after becoming PM first went to Jankapurdham where temple is renovated by a queen from Madhya Pradesh(probably Teekamgarh but I wrongly named from Holkars’).

I exclaimed if I was born 20 km north of Forbesganj I must have been a Nepali and so what was the difference between us.

In fact I had a long discussion on facebook/ mails with Pravin Narayan Choudhary, the anchor of the function who had been submerged with anti-dowry activities of Mithila and in fact he has the ability of organizing people and invitation to me came through my brother-in law Vivekanand Jha whose anglophilic thoughts I always criticized. Some way Pravin was his fan and being invited I accepted that despite my already fixed schedule for Khagaria and Patna which I changed somehow though that made my tours quite hectic.

The exhibition of Mithila Painting was quite exotic but I was not in a mood after full day fast and without snan and puja. No sooner the inaugural function ended, I went below podium changed my dhoti(as I was feeling chill) and with bag was ready to leave with LN Mehta but he had been in the queue of food. I was requested by many but I was not accustomed to eat without bath- sandhya-tarpan, Siyaram Jha ‘saras’ insisted that curd and Rosugulla I should take- I had taken sweets anf fruits in the past without Puja many days and hence with inmitial hesitation I took as many as 16-18 rosugullas- caloriewise sufficient for the night also(thinking to have puja next day morning in spite of that chilly evening).

In the wake of the proximity from my home, Forbesganj, my journey to Biratnagar has been much less and this was after 7 years, thanks Praveen. I feel he and many more like him are true workers of Mithila though many of them are unaware of the potentiality and scope of Mithila work and the ideological foundation of such any work.

When he had uttered on mobile that workers of divergent views would not be allowed to pull up in different ways, I had difficult times to convince him that if any body or some body feel that their way or leadership is the only anathema of Mithila work how one can press on that.

Many people comment on my differences with Baidyanath Choudhary .Baijuji’ who too was invited by Praveen (was not known to me). We had only few chances to meet or share diases-(for diases it was third,

And chance meetings- at my younger brothers’ marriage in 1985(when I was not a Maihtili worker)

and hand once telephonic talk in 1992 when I was at Delhi in Vijaykantji’s house and had taken his phone to convince Baijuji that all should fight unitedly.(He had differences with Vijaykantji and I was a novice entrant ot Maihtili areana).

When I incidentally saw him at Mumbai (not knowing then also that he was an invited guest there) I was scribbling through invitation postcards for the XVI Antarrashtriy maihtili Sammealn, Goa, November 2007 and was surprised to see him who has been doing his sammealana plagiarizing our name of Antarrashtriy Maihtili Sammealn; incidentally postcard for Vidyapati Seva sansthan was already written and was in the lot which I searched and giving him that I saidm”You know well that AMP is doing Antarrashtriy Maihtili Sammealns since 1993 and requested to change the name to Vishwa maithili Sammelan or not to cobfuse. He spoke so much about me in that meeting( that I was fifth saviour Thakur- after jyotirishwar, Vidayapati, Brajmohan, CP Thakurs) but did not change his samelans name(even on Dec 22-23 is organizing that at Guwahati).

Later he also added ‘Akhil Bhartiy ,’ to’ Mihtila Rajya Sangharsh Samiti.’ founded by me in 1994 of which Dr. jaykant Mishra remained president till death and and then Chunchun Mishra till death(now Dr. satyanarayan mahto is president).

At one juncture(without my knowledge, ‘antarrashtiy word was added by Chunchunji that we were from AMP which I protested that it will give wrong message of unification of both sides of Mithila which was never intended by the AMP. This year also when I reached Darbhanga on 23.11.2011, I found the word on the old banner and I protested Dr. Udayshakar Mishra and suggested to paint word antarrashtriy.



Let Baijuji explain his position on this organizational juggleries.



Regarding his stand on unification of Mithila or nullifying Sugauli Treaty, I feel it was good that he did not utter this in the presence of Nepali Maihtils and I could say vehemently that that was not intended by the AMP(though some splinter voices do come off and on and should not be taken seriously).



I hope Praveen and others should note that I have no personal difference with anyone. I am an incidental intruder in Mithila movement and if people do not like me I would be satisfied to take recourse to my other work.

If in my brief speech, I did not mention Baijuji , it was for the brevity of speech time which I myself had timed 180 seconds finding two dozen speakers on the dais and for that matter I did not address anyone except president and HE VP and that is my way of speaking to save time.

I would have loved to interact Dr. SN Jha, SN Mishra and many more who had been cordial to me in the past but I know in such a gathering everybody is short of time. I am not always dais visitor and sometime I will find time to talk to many particularly Praveen who looked lovely in ‘Lalka pag.’

I do not feel myself old but surely Mithila work is to be taken up by those who are in their 30s or 40s. They should try to understand the complexities of the problem and should not be emotive on issues. I did try my best in simplifying the things based on ground realties and ideological moorings with no intenstion for self.

At Purnea sometimes back in Pinki’s marriage a young journalist had asked me that whether I would be first CM of Mithila or will face Shiboo Soren’s ordeal. I had replied him that CM of Mithila will be among the political of Mithila. In election caste is counted and being a Brahmin I am at loss there and hence I feel once Mithila is on the map, I will take recourse of my chamber to patiens, in an institute if that I could establish just like Achary Chankay went to Gaga sides in his hermitage making Mudraraakshas as Prime Minister of Magadha.



The same journalist was asking me yesterday night about the intelligence reports of Islamic terroristst’ dens in madhubani and other districts to which I had already forcasted seeing petrodollars vicioating genuine Maithil Muslims with an intrusion from Bangladesh and communication from Nepal for weakening country- for which too Mithila needs statehood as Patna cannot control these things being distant.

Being a doctor, I am always suspicious for my long life(though my parentage had )whether I live or not MITHILA will come on map. Let Karuna Jha be assured her bold voice will not be maimed.

Sir William Jones in 1772 lectured first on it and that became plank for every anti_Hindu and they pleaded Arya too came from outside like that of Muslims , Zorastians etc.

Then also Mahamahopadhyay Ganganath jha, historian Jadunath sarkar and Pune’s RG Bhandarkar ridiculed it as no word of Baltic nations(from where we were said to come India)languages were in Indian tongues.

Lokmany Tilak did further wrong when he said that we came from near north pole.

Indore ’s Wakanankar dig deep and with astro pictures proved that saraswati valley civilization was in fact Sindhu valley civilization.

Then came a theory that all human beings are the progeny of a great-great- grandamma from Ethiopia which is also dismantled in the light of new evidences.

I am sure in the end Hindu’s pristine glory will come up and among that Mithila’s position will be on the top as only in the the Shatpath Brahman Videh Madhava’s spread of Aryas to the east of Gandaki is described that is our spread from Saraswati banks and so we revere Ganga-Yyamuna and antah salila sSrasawati’s triveni at Prayagraj.

Let us be proud Hindus and this is our homeland. We are not a Bhageru in any Dharmashala( which anti-Hindus tried to prove for India ).

Of course Muslims are also Hindu Muslims as they are converted from us and are part and parcel of Indian community but they too should have proud on Ram and seta and Krishna and Radha as r Rahim or Raskhan had or as Asfakaullah or Khan Abudul gaffer Khan thought and did for Indian nation.

With profound regret

With profound regret AMP workers are informed that Shri Sudhitnath Mishra, President Mithila Party has lost his youngest son, Satyaprakash, 32yrs issueless, just married some years back. He breathed last 630 pm at PMCH. The body was taken to his native village Ramai, in Araia district and last rites would have been complete by this time there.



We all are shocked and pray Almighty to give him strength, a pillar of eastern Mithila.

My 113th Mithila Jagran Yatra(Khagaria- Bangam-Saharsa- madhepura- Purnea- Godda during Dec4-6, 2011)



Gaurisharn Jha said that on 3rd he was almost free and would himself drop me to the railway junction for my journey to Mithila. He had been with me whole afternoon and we talked with my librarian Bindeshwar Jha.

He narrated the high characters of Babu Jankinandan Singh who was his villager.

After my evening chamber Gaurishankarji went to my nearby residence and we started for station. I took my reservations for next two trips( to Biratnagar- patna and Kolkata in Jauaray).

Ranchi-Jaynagar Express, always we think our achievement was full to the capacity and I could take general ticket in rush and Gauriji could secure an upper space for my comfortable journey till barauni when it was early morning.

A train I missed for a minute and the time I utilized for distributing new pamphlet , 2000 deivered JaiMithila! Jai Jai Mithila!!( a slogan coined by BK Karna during my 2009 Mithila Jagaran yatra which needs to be slogan of the day). (When I just reminded for rest 18000 pamphlets, to be delivered by tomorrow fornoon, so that I may take some to Patna meeting,the press manager Bhaumik remarked seems I was on journey everyday!).

Barauni is the central place for such distribution, I learnt in 1992 when I had distributed Jagu amithil Dheer pamphlet there. Maithils are still sleeping in Kumbhkar style- eating and sleeping.

I distributed in jaynagar Express s and then in Katihar Link. At the end one person (Muslim probably, as rush was for Moharram holiday) – Kya desh ka Kabab banyenge baat kar’ and I retorted to that..Who had made kabaab of the country ? Whether Maithils were responsible for the partition of the country? Or Maihtils made Jharkhand? Or 28 states from 14 in 1956?

Anyway such discussions create an environment and discussion should go on. Every Maithil worker nmeeds some pamphlets and distribute thaose in buses and coaches and at chowks and villages to have Mithila on Indain Map.



Just before Khagra it was informed that lady was crushed by the train at Umeshnagar. The train was a bit delayed. I got down at Khagaria. Soon came Dharmndra Yadav , brother of Dr. Swami Vivekanand(yes his father had named his thus) and he took me to Prabhakar Jha’s residence where I had a quck bath anf Puja and food- by Beauty(yes, Prabhakarji has nick-named his beautiful daughter, student of MA, English). She told me that o have good conversational English was difficult in that homely situation.



We had a meeting soon after. One neighbor TTE had expired and so many persons were absent but some persons and press came and they all were unanimous that Mithila state was a must for our development and redressed of Koshi floods perennial stories.



Some other teacher left me at station. Again my train Jnseva Express was late and started distributing pamphlets first in the Samstipur bound passenger train and then on the platform. Soon Dharmedra came and he too joined .

I told him to go to his work and waited for the train which came around 3 hours late. Consequently my meetings by Suman Singh and Arvinbd Singha of Jamunia arranged by Shailendra singh of Sardeeha at Simari bakhtiyarpur was canelled where I reached around 5 pm. The train had rufh unthinkable for me and was an pointer to to the plight of Koshi region, an index of the large scale migration to Punjab. Less number of train and road bridge damaged one can imagine !

I was standing on the gate full of human bodies(live but worse than dead only signs of anger out of frustrations).

I saw Badlaghat where whole train some decades back had sunk in the river. Saw nearby katyaayani sthan butr could not snap. At Koparia potato sseds ( three sacs) were deloaded from the gate but horde of Mushhar women enetered with doks(snails)- What poverty in Mithila- No doubt that will be full of nutrition but snails are eco friendly and a destruction of envirionment!

A person put curd pot of big size- what good quality! Ust be for some marriage!

Anyway reached Saharsa and delaoded Maihtili Sandesh in the RMS letter box for all Mihtila High schools, packets prepared by my family members preivious day, I could drop only few at Kioul RMS that jaynagar Express had started.

I went outside and took a rickshaw to Mahaveer Chowk and then an auto for Bangain where Suman samaj was waiting .

Suman Samaj had attended II Interantional maithili Conference at Madhubani but we lost tracks. He had been to many places in between.

Putting my luggage( heavy duie to 75 Maithili geerta, -25 I had given at Khagaria) at his home and taking some copies we went to Abhinyu Khan, ex teacher Netarhat School who had been always cordial to me. There I found sin of my mother’s maternal uncle Santosh jha also. Next day was the day for paramhan’s Jayanti and poilice inspector was there to ask the iterinaries of the chief guest IG, a native of that vcillage which has many IASs, IPSs etc.

With three panchayats Bangam is a forest of Maihtils where Khan title was taken by a hero Maithil who had killed all sepoys of a Mugl zamindar.

We went to Baba kuti and I had a meeting in backyards of Thakurwadi where many enthusiastic workers assembled soon. I had difficulty in later parts of meeting(probably due to peda I had eaten in the way I had stomach troble and I could not resist and I had to go to nearby fied for defaecation, somehow concluding the meeting).

I snapped the Thakurwadi and suggested its establishment in 1939 AD should be written ias 2006 Vikram samvat which was accepted instantly.

We were returning to Suman’s home that I saw another religious congregation on Bhagwata. It was just over and some kirtans were going on. I snapped and video recoreded that and I presented a copy of my Maithili geeta to the Vyspeeth. I was asked to say my introduction and I presented my religious views and on shstras may be some 20 minutes and everybody was thrilled. One poerson of mool paliware samaul was much excited to find a person me from that village.

After the Prasad , I had talks on Mithila stathood etc. It was a successful unintentional, coincidental meeting.

I rested after meals.

On 5th December I had to reach Purnea for for the marriage of Vinay Tarun( a sincere maithili worker who succumbed to railway accident in June 2009)..To be continued..

A day full of coincidences_Dec 3,2011

Gaurisharanji, an advocate of Ranchi who has several years of the ABVP_BJP working experience (which I could know only on 3rd December 2011 and hence I felt workers should spend some time together to know each other) incidentally met me when I had an incidental visit to the RTO office to get my driving license . That day was most coincidental. Lilar Sah, a Chhotanagpuri who had for some days worked for the AMP on honourarium during 1990s met me indentally in my colony. He now works at the Ranchi court and was going there. The MTI library where I work in the afternoon, had some official meetings that day and I had decided not to go there that day but the pendrive I used was lost somewhere when in the prevvous night I searched and finally it was located on the PC of the library and hence I had to go to take that. Lilar left me there and quickly I returned to the neaby bank and we went to the Court where Gaurisharanji was coming out. Soon Vinay Khan, a retired engineer and J Jha, the grand oldman of Ashoknagar colny were also coming out seeing long queue of the RTO office.

Gausharkarje was with me thereafter till evening- my license was not ready despite my 7th or 8th visit. Due to strict measures of ther RTO the middlemen were tightened but if such would be pace of the work people wiould think middlemen better and in fact there rates have been more(now license is made from neighbouring district on higher rate) . I saw the plight of people in every visit and my own state has been pathetic everytime I went to that office despite the good words and some priority helping woirk by a staff Marandi who became close to me having known I was known to Babulal marandi, the first chief minister of the Jharkhand state.

I authorized gaurisharanji to take my license anyday whenever it would be ready. I have left driving for some four years mainly to walk more and have no wife or parents to take them anywhere still a license should be with me was the idea to get that renenewd from the changed address of Banglore it expired.



Gaurisharan insisted that he would saw me off to my residence but I do not return my house till evening. I took that time to visit with him his senior colleague RK Choudhary of Ranchi High Court who had been always cordial to me. His woife asked me as to where I was in this Chhathi kharna. I had gone to young Pawan’s family for kharna when he had come to my chamber that he was now transferred to Mumbai from Jaipur. When studing linguistics at the BHU he had been one whole day with me and sometimes back had worked for the NMO. He is not a Maithil but many non-Maithils have been helping me for tha Maithili work too as it is a social work.

Choudharyji has lost interest in the court and developing dementia. An article I was writing till nate on that in the previous night. I suggested him to work even as a therapy but he had even sold his chamber at the high court. Hailing form village Pindarucch he is coming from a legal luninaries’ family.

We talked much about Mahakavi Chanda Jha who was there and had to live the voillage as he used to wroite against Jamindari system.



After Choudaryji, we went to manoj’s residence. An IITian manoj had lost his promising son when he was found dead mysteriously at the dayanad College Bangalore. He is absorbed in anatomy and medical jurisprudence to nab the culprits despite my several request to forget that part of the event and concentrate to the other son and wife.

He was not in the residence and I saw Gray’s anatomy’s pages open on the table- He must be knowing mire about cerebral anatomy than me by this time- but of what use?



Dr. Shantiparaksh phoned that he was in the vicinity and I asked him to reach Mrs. Abash Chatterjee’s house. She is a widow and they had lost their only son in a drowning. Mr. Chatterjee was top in Bihar in SSC and also in India in the IAS. Hailing from Purnea I had made him once agreed to be president of the Mihtila Party but his condition was that it would be Mithila Hindu Democratic Party like that of West Germany in those days when he had just returned from there. Mrs. Chatterjee, a Christian but always supported Mr. Chatterjee was stunned to know this as it was never discussed with her by him or informed by me in the long years.

I took the opportunity to read my new story ‘O” in Maithuli to be read at Patna on 10th December 2011.



I took opportunity to give a coutsey call to Mrs. Puspa Jha whose husband Dharmanad Jha had passed one year back and she had invited me for annual shrdhh on 4th which I had to politely refuse for my Mithila Yatra.

So this was a day on incidences all happened unplanned and a series of visits to ill-luck persons.

A day at Bhojpur(Ara)- ‘We will have Mithila state. We can change our state but not neighbors and so Bhojpuris and Maghis should feel for us good neighbours

On 18th February 2011 I had taken Bhagalpur-Annand Vihar Garib Rath train at Mugalsarai to go to Delhi to attend my the marriage of my colleague’s daughter(an IAS).

In the same coach a teacher of the Vidya Bharati, Balindar Prasad was traveling and he invited me to come to Ara anytime to talk to the intellectuals of the area.

I am leading medicos as well as Mithila state movement and in that context my tours have been mostly limited to medics and Maithils.

I wished to have some meetings with Bhojpuris and Magahis as I had delivered a lecture on creation of Bhojpur and Magadh states at Patna Pustak Mela on 12.12.2010.

I wished to convey Bhojpuri bretherens that I was not against of the promotion of Bhojpuri.



I talked Balinderji some days back and having no prompt reply I fixed my progammes for Teghra and Bihat on 26th as I had to attend a dharna for Mithila state on 27th November at Dalsingsarai.



On 23rd November while I was returning from Darbhanga at Kiul I got a call from Balinderji that the programme was possible and accordingly I changed my programme of 26ht.

On 25th night taking Hatia- Patna express talking some students in the way(one of them was very much impressed with me whom I had talked on science and history which was listening their happenings with different doctors. Someone told that Parasnath was famous for Buddhists that I corrected for Jainism .

At patna I got soon Lal Quila express for a journey to 67 kilometer off Ara, the centre of Bihari portion of Bhojpur. Seeing a Muslim lady with a child I stood and offered seat to her and saw flowing Koilwar river. A boy was introduced working for BSNL from Maunathbhanjan(UP) whom I said that he was looked to be a devotee of Lord Hanuman and that he was. Knowing that I was going to be a guest of an unknown traveler he requested me to be his at night near Patna junction which I accepted provided he came to my meeting with intellectuals at 4 pm.



At station Balinderji had sent his colleague ramesh singh but his mobile did not work nor mine though he had contacted me while I was near Koilwar. After some time we could recognize. I had long back taken the address of balinderjee near Moffussil thana ramreakha Vidya Sarswati Vidya Mandir as once I had this mobile problem at Banka too.



He took me to a Tiwari’s house where I had my rituals of bathing- sandhya-Tarpan-puja and then a high class vegetarian meal.

I was escorted to the nearby Sarswati Vidya mandir, knowing the land was donated by Ramrekha Yadav’s sons I enquired why Yadav was not affixed to ramrekha/ To my utter surprise it was a foolish work of some high class Hindus of the RSS cadre who according to me were enemies of the RSS itself and had no knowledge of the basics of the RSS(in the evening I was further shocked to know that some regular swaymsevaks were for this reason made victims in the false cases of rape which a judge Mihir kumar Jha quashed and for that one of them were so much reverant to any Maithili Brahmin that I was invited in Bhojpur who were supposed to be termed as anti-maithil at least since Lau-Rabri regimen.

Just before I had elaborated that Babu Kunwar Singh’s ‘guru(spiritual teacher) was a Maithil Brahmin from Ranti (Madhubani, the hear centre of Mithila)who had stimulated him for fighting against British imperialists.

I also discussed long with the secretary of the school, Sarvdev Tiwari, about the monument of Kunwar Singh. I was shocked that still Govt. has not done anything appreciable while for his village Jagdeeshpur 10 km off of Ara there should have been regular bus from Patna for tourism purpose.(in the evening I saw too huge hoardings of Bihar Ministry for some Sufi but that was for minority vote bank, I criticized on 27th meeting of intellectuals at Samsatipur in harsh words.).



It is a matter of further shame that Kunwar Singh’s statues were erected by his castement here and there- had that great hero fought for his caste? I recalled my speech on him in 1974/75 when I was a second year student and had delivered speech on the request of a friend( again he was a Rajput ?) when failure of electricity aroused a murmur that I commnded’ listening does not require light’ and thde hall was silenced and I continued my speech some 29 minutes(incidentally mike’s battery was working).



I was escorted to the assembly of boys and girls and had inguration of function by lighting lamp before Mother saraswati and Bharatmata.

I was presented a Shreefal(coconut) so beautifully wrapped in colured papers with threads( I had not seen such on the past though my sister today informed such were available at Ranchi also).



Some girls presented a self composed welcome song in sonorous voice-

“raura ayalanhi hamare anganwa,

Ee phulwadi bhay gel;;”

I was stunned to listen those as I had an impression that Bhojpuris were very strong species who have no affection and their songs are mostly obscene.

I spoke- “ India is one and it looked different”

India was not formed on 15th August 1947 but has been a vibrant nation.



Then mostly picking up threads from the kids I gave some hints on health and hygiene- even very akward looking thing- like after defaecation, first you clean urinary orifice with water and then anus and once anus never your hands to go to urinary passage( to prevent Urinary tract infection).

I asked them to chop of nail and have right way of brushing teeth(at 45degree angle joint of gums to teeth, not on the while glistening enamel).

I gave them some tips on vitamins and suggested to avoid toffees preferring apples/ guava/ ground nit instead than sweets(difficult to suggest such things to children).



I said them ‘in one class only one will be first and hence your work is to read only naot thinking for results as per Gita.

Personality is tested in failures not in successes. So NO SUICIDE in any case- sometimes teachers are at fault to give numbers- have pity on them.



I told them the story of a Maithil village girl Priyanka of naaur village who wished to be an IAS and lo! Incidentally there was also a Priyanka!

Gotanjali was there and they could relate to Rabindranath but no maitriee, nachiketa, Abhimanyu, Aaruni or Prahlad!

I felt we are now focused to marketing names on consumerism more than our proud culture.

One girl asked me as to whether I wrote any book and I presented a copy of my MaithiliGita for the library there.

Since Headmaster balinderji had requested me to tell something in my mother tongue- I asked if there was any maithil child- no hand was up and then I narrated them the story of Ugna in Maithili when Lord Shiva had became a servant of the mahakavi Vidyapati(who had even fought with Muslim invaders with swirds and had written

‘Debur bhangi masid bandhi( demolishing temples they make mosques).



It was much time and we started for Vidwadgoshti (intellectuals meeting) at the house of Sadanad Mishra near Kunwar Singh University where though attendance was low we discussed many things.

I told them to go for a Bhojpur state for which they agreed. I told them that We will have Mithila state. We can change our state but not neighbors and so Bhojpuris and Maghis should feel for us good neighbours that my visit was meant.



President of the gosthi Dr.Ramtabkya Singh though HOD of the PG dept. of Chemistry had a flair of writing and singing which I listened. The other retired head of Hindi had a great Bhojpuri thinker Dr. Gadhdhar Singh who informed that now people write too much in Bhojpuri though previously they were serving Hindi cause.

I explained them how national language could be simplified Sanskrit.

To my utter surprise Dr. Singh informed that Mahakavi Vidyapati had visited Jagdeeshpur also and had written in Bhojpuri (two verses of that are with him- which I will try to get from him in future).

Maybe true as Mithila in Vidayapti’s long life tenure for some time was ruled by nawabs of Jaunpur too where Vidyapati had gone as Royal emissary and he might have wrotten in Bhojpuri too and iof that proved so he might be called the first Bhojpuri wroter too., again a proud moment for we Maithils.



It was getting dark and I had decided to go to Patna , if not to Dalsigsarai..

Yet I thought to pay a visit to the grand old physician of the town Dr. SN Mishra, MBBS 1956 batch of the darbhanga medical college who obtained his DTM&H and DCH from England. A native of Shivnagar- Benipatti, 80-years old Dr. Mishra told that he was ‘ a fortunate father of six daughters- the sith mamta was a docto0r and all six son-in laws eminent doctors’ One of them the third Pramod K Jha, FRCS was a batchmate of mine.

Dr. Mishra organized Viodyapati parva for some 30 years which I requested that be revived with the energy of some youth(though some such young maithils were informed no one could come for my meeting and thus such a planned meeting could not be held.

Nor any doctors’ meeting except meeting Dr. Mishra who told us that he used to take rs. 50 as fee for six months no second fee(now he charges Rs.200). He tried to build up a medical college also and runs Shyamal Super specialty hospital at Patna.

I took a rickshaw and seeing the roads of Ara reached station and despite shortage of time I did darshan of Ma Durga and Lord Hanuman at the station. Ma Bakhorapurwalee Durga is otherwise famous who is somewhere near I could not go but had seen written on some distant buses even at Ranchi.



Express traons were late and I asked for a passenger ticket for Rs.10 which in the train I saw was of Mail Express for Rs.22. was it a mistake or an already sold ticket resold to me difficult to say.

I called the Maunathbahnajan boy who had phoned that he was going to Maner(which I had a wrong impression was towards Nalanda in Magadh from where my teacher Dr. KK Sinha belonged to) from where he would go directly to patna and had requested me to give a call.

I was a bit suspicious to go to an unknown person’s room at night and I SMSed my sister his number and address near Veena talkies of Patnanear Ptna junction and with courage I went there.

In the meantime Akhilesh of Nanaur phoned me that a Vidyapati parva was going on at the Rajeevnagar of patna- I told him that if the organizers give me time during cultural function, breaking for my speech for few minutes, I may reach there but the secretary did not agree- whether too give me more honour ? Or was hesitant on my stand on Mithila was difficult for me to understand. Yes, it is difficult for me to understand Mithila psyche!



The train was late and around 10 I reached Ptna. I took some dried chura and thought not to eat anything but the unknown boy Manish came to receive me at the Veena Talkies and in his 8.5’X 15’ cubic(with attached bath and toilet) I was again offered meals cooked by himself.

I thought a second Vinay Tarun he was (of Bhagalpur, there he could know that I was a doctor when I prescribed for his migraine).

He is one among four siblings who could not read beyond graduation for deposing money for his sister’s marriage(father of 46 was almost unemployed). I told him, ‘you could do what I could not.’

In the morning I was awaken by alarm but again slept a finally a call from my sister at 530 I could get up and around 715 I reached nearby Patna bus stand crossing the platforms of Junction station by foot overbridge.



The 7-05 bus to Dalsingsarai already leaft and next 8 am darbar bus I could and reached Mithila’s Dalsingsarai around 11 am in Dharna and then to samastipur—(to be continued)

Anyway started under the said circumstances, reached Kiul on 10th morning and had a breath in jamalpur passenger where one sharma from Urain working at Asansol said that Lakhisarai(munger) had been a part of Mithilanchal for millennia. The way in winter in the area suggested birds could be invited from far if sanctuary was made there. The womenfolk with heavy fodder bags created a scene till jamalpur I reached.

Had a trekker for Mumger the town I had been in 1970 for a month- and exactly at that Model School a teacher Choudhryji was waiting for me. Went to Maithili Parishad office where some neghobouring lady cooked simple roti sabji for me.

Went to dalhatta with Amolji to meet Indu daughter of late laxmikant Mishra, the doyen of Maithil community there who passed away recently.

Had a glimpse of Yoga sansthan from the outskirts and then to lallupokhar office for maithili meeting which seconded a Mithila state conference soon there.



Though they insisted stating at night –in the morning 5 there was a chance of theft a on raod9though position has improved in this govt.) and hence I decided to take 730 train for Bhagalpur and had a talk with passengers on Mithila state.

Many have wrong notions of ill development on the Jharkhand’s happenings.

At bhagalpur though advocate sadhana jha arvibnd Jha;s house I passed and listened kartik Purnima matra chanting thought not to disturb them abnd went to my relativ’s house which I had forgotten once Vinay Tarun was introduced.

The wife of my younger cousin a teacher had made several dishes and sweets.

In the morning of 11th I walked to nearby bus stand and had a bus for Purnea and then crossing River Koshi reached Purnea and immediately I got a slow moving bus to araria(rather having big halts with fast speed) and crossed Araria remembering its many workers, some of whom have left us for no reason.

Reached my native town Forbesganj and then a tempo to M the Mithila Public School I had to speak – the town has changed in decades I left. I tried to catch glimpse and record video on Sony’s instrument. The locality was known to me but new building had come up- yet there was a board of JK I had once mentioned to its owner Raghupati sSinghania and so was the Mahavir Mill.

Doctors’ clinics are everywhere- people are unhealthy but specialists are available. The funeral ghat I saw besides the Sita dhar.

Reached Mithila Public School and was welcomed by its Principal Putul ishra who provided a heavy lunch, talked many luminaries of the district who had come there. And in the evening boys assembled to listen to me on their career and health and I also tipped for prevention from suicide(seeing rampant news in ranchi papers). A boy’s question on Dream? Was fascination- The boy Abdul could say Abdul kalam, Maulana aAbul kalam*(whose burthdayw as eductation day that day) ato which I added aAbdul Rahim Khnakhana..the great Rambhakt poet..( to be concluded..)

Part II



MIthila Public School(MPS) is run by a Maithil family from Bhadreshwar late Saryu Mishra’s scion (whose son Pradeep was my classmate at the Lee academy , Forbesganj). While going to that school I was thinking I should have contacted my Alma mater too for such a talk.

This MPS is a private institution with some 1500 students and its roll of honour shows many students of over 90% and later I was informed one had 8th position in Bihar PMT(I was 19th only).

In the evening assembly of the borders (some 150 students) I started with offering a copy of my >MaithiligadyaGita/ to the Madam principal, Ms. Putul Mishra.

I asked for the significance of the day and somebody said it was 11.11.11 but one boy could say that that was Guru nanak Dev’s birthday and the other that it was a Poornima of Kartik.

I started ,with asking a question my teacher Agmalal Saha had asked in 1966

A boy stood and replied’ Court.’

I said the same mistake my friend had done and was slapped by the teacher but in the modern scenario Madam Principal will be afraid of slapping(corporal punishment) to any boy.

I told them that then the teacher had said= Simaraha dhatta ( khali maidan) and then that teacher of mathematics started explaining in that geography class causes of Population at a place that after there was a court at Araria people started gathering for different work.



I said that only the examiner of Dr. Rajendra Prasad was honest to declare’ examinee is better than examiner’ though in every class there are one or more better than their teacher who would be doctors, engineers etc. while their teachers could not go to that extent.

I also given them few tips on health like nail chopping weekly and hygiene and on foods and fruits and vegetables etc.

I also explained them that success is enjoyed by all but the personality rests in fighting any failure where suicidal attempts are serious as many times even examiners were wrong in judging the students. A courageous stand to fight eventualities is the need which I chose to speak because recently I came across many such suicide cases at Ranchi.





AMP Meeting at Forbesganj



I had several calls by Prof NL Das and Sudhirji and I concluded quickly. The school provided a vehicle to post office chowk , my home hardly 2 km from there where meeting of the AMP was in the Mohan Smriti Bhawan.

I could stop hardly for a minute at my home though informed that the roof of the home was broken I could not view.

The meeting was as usual attended by a few Maithils who were divided in opinion to start an AMP unit or some other organization. I asked them to run AMP unit as it had an umbrella but Maithils are egoistic everywhere (even within the AMP and do not want to follow any other and so I was there instead a conference at a distant Agra).

After meeting Prof. NL Das, a recipient of the Translation Award of the Sahity Akademy of 2010 and AMP vice=president asked me to go to his house for night stay. The rickshw puller took Rs. 30 while to go to Purnea it is merely Rs.40 by bus and Rs.11 by train?



I had an enquiry at railway station for the morning train and thought to catch 7.13 am train. At Dasji’s house his co-brother had expired previous day and it was a gloomy night. In 2008 also I had the news of my mother’s demise at ranchi when we had returned there from Hulas camp of the AMP.

There was a teacher from Jamui joined recently Shishu Vatika at the Vidya Bharati, Forbesganj.





The next morning I could take some of the photos of the award Dr. Das had and some receptions on that account and tours to Kerala and Delhi for that.



I reached Purnea junction and by auto RN Sah Chowk from where a rickshw pulled me to Bhattha chowk, Arabia Masjid line, Madhopur and Teachers’ colony- where young journalist Vinay Tarun’s father and sister Pinki lived with whom I had an accidental introduction in 2008.

There one Maithil could talk his brother Dhirendra Mishra, ex-IAS when I give his number to him.

Though Pinki had told me that a meeting of local will be organized she could return and I had to start for Brajmohan Thakur Law College.

Principal was outstation and so the director but the in-charge principal Ashutosh recognized me and soon we had a good meeting in the library hall.

I explained them the historical course of Mithila since English advent and a progress sheet in the road of statehood and its necessity.

It was pleasing that a law student Aman Khatoon put a question why Mihtila was named? I tried to reply satisfactorily. The other student Pratik Sanyal, hailing from North Dinzpur(WB) explained Mitakshara and daybhag systems of law of which Mihtila school was one where the person doing last rites of any heirless person becomes the master of the property of the deaceased. Among students Poonam Kumari, Kanchan Kumari,Priya Mahto Amardeep Kr. Yadav, Reena Kumari were present. Among staff and teachers Prof. RN Thakur, Vijay Kr Mishra, Vinod Kr. Thakur,Yogendra Mohan Thakur, Saketanand Jha, nagendra Mohan Thakur, Himanshu Prasad Varma, Sikendra Kumar Mahto, Arun Kumar, Pappu Kumar, prashant Kumar Sinha, Chandeshwari Kumar, Jnaneshwar Prasad, Vijay Kumar Jha, Kshitish Mohan Thakur etc. were present.

Earlier also I had been also in this college but every time I visit that place I get energy for the movement.

Maithili introduction at the Calcutta University in 1919

I had thought to stay there itself but Ashutosh took me to his house where his father Birendra Mohan Thakurji came late but we had an important session of interview on his father Pt. Brajmohan Thakur (14.2.1989-9.12.1977)’s initiation of the Maithili education at the Calcutta University when Babuaji Mishra and he talked for it and approached Sir Ashitosh Mukherjee who said if 2500 Rupees could be deposited he may start a chair for Maihtili. Then BM Thakur approached Raja Krityanand Singh etc. of Purnea and raaura, Durgaganj and could collect Rs.11000.

Then BM Thakur was asked to collect books etc. for teaching and syllabus formation, the dairy of which I was shown on 26.4.2008 night during XVII International Maithili Conference. I photographed and video recorded all those matter(his diary, question papers and mark allotment paper of 1932 etc. signifying that at Kolkata Maihtili was a subjet till 1932 at least though Ashutosh said that it was till 1942 and was closed when the money BM Thakur had deposited was exhausted.

I feel sincerely had Mihtila been in Bengal(instead of Bihar) Maihtili’s progress would have been undeterred as it was eclipsed since 1940 when the great Dr. Sachhidanand Sinha and Dr. Rajendra Prasad thwarted the move of Dr. Amarnath Jha for basic teaching of Maihtil children in Maihtili.

I am a vegetarian and hence again food was cooked for me(as they had made fish-rice).

In the night I was tormented over some happenings in the AMP and was thinking to move away from the work altogether, if system was not restored.

In the morning I was ready and after breakfast I went to catch a bus for Bhagalpur. There was a jam just before the Kursel’s Koshi bridge which took many hours to be clear by four cranes.

An advocate of Purnea had many interesting accounts on the fate of old persons quoting sayings from some scriptures also. Some other were discussing diabetes and its cause and prevention and treatment by Yogic methods- though I interrupted on unscientific talks I did not reveal that my MD thesis was on diabetes itself or I was a qualified doctor. We must be scientific in our approach.

When bus started the boy besides me was introduced from Ranganj who was knowing Abhay Jha, a teacher and Maithili worker whose son was the boy’s frind working with the State Bank of India at Delhi(I could get Abhayji’s number from him later on).

I also talked Dinesh K Mishra on Koshi river while crossing that bridge as Bhojpuri Dinesh, an IIT Kharagpur alumini has devoted his entire life for the flood victims of Koshi bed.

It was interesting to talk with him on Ganga’s further course in India and Bengladesh where it is called Padma and later with Brahmputra is known as Meghna.

My train from Bhagalpur was at 455pm but I was not sure whether jam could be relieved by that time not to talk of the scheduled meeting form 3 pm at Burhanath mahadev premises. Luckily I could reach Bhagalpur around 3 pm and by other auto the place crossing Tilakmanjhi chowk once more.

At Burhamnath some Maihtils were assembled Dr. sadanad Jha, Shyamanad Mishra, Mahesh Jha, Anil Jha, jay prakash Jha, Shya,akant Jha, Ram Bilas Jha and Mihtilesh Jha. They were enthusiastic for an international conference there but after seedling of a committee with due membership. They also liked my rendering of Gita.

The temple premises is mostly filled with prospective bride and grooms’ paries for negotiation.

It has a Sanskrit college as well there.

As the doors of Lord Burha were not opened till 415 pm I had to leave for taking my train.

I purchased some chura and bananas etc. and in the train(where I was wait listed 10) on a TTE seat took my food of varied materials. Soon came a young boy to occupy the seat but he accommodated other passengers and me but then 2 dadas(musclemen, maybe in police) came and chided and even assaulted the bioy who protested that TTE had said him to seat. TTE from the AC coach came and I said that though probably I was the most qualified person in the train and also on highest Govt. cadre and connected to several top ministers of the states of Bihar and Jharkhand, I had removed my little luggage to go somewhere else ; I felt the matter be closed otherwise if I have to give witness it will go against dada(the muscle man). The musclemen changed there attitude and not only they allowed me and other passengers to seat they asked and pampered the boy(who was a Muslim and soon the dadas could get connectivity from his father, a police inspector).



At Chittaranjan I could get space to sleep and did not notice when that lady leader got down at Katrasgarh and could awake at Ranchi. While getting down I chided a child for not clapping over tobacco (khaini) but he retorted ferociously. It is better to keep mum.

Deepawali 2011

Deepawali 2011
After many years during Deepawali I was at Ranchi.
Since 2002 I mostly used to got to Delhi's Sarita Vihar and Faridabad Kali Puja with an intention to see many Maithils.
Lately I found that Sarita Vihar has changed its face from Maithili to Bihari and initial lectures stopped.
It was because Maithils there thought to have some more gathering by calling non- Maihtil Biharis too which should have been checked initially on my warnings and that lead to Hindi usage and later changing format of the programme.

Faridabad youth have become old still they are continuing instead they should have transferred to new generation.
Still I love their gesture to me and dedication.
This year Deepawali in mid-week day would have amounted many day's leaves and hence I preferred not to be out. I did fast and in the evening had Puja reading from the Varsh Kritya.
it is Puja of Laxmi- Indra and Kuber in the pradosh( 1 h 12 minutes from sunset) and of Kali in midnight(Nisheeth) which I could not do as I had some viral upper respiratory tract infection induced fever.
In the last prahar( 3-6 am) ther in the Maithil tradition is Sukhraatri by Maithils main lady of the family by slapping SOOPs- daridra bahar jay..Laxmi bheetar abaithi..
Though I was awake at 3 am I did some computer filing worker till 5 am when other members of my house were asleep.
At 4 am from Muzaffarpur, Shardanand Jha's SMS was received and I replied him too, incidentally I was awoke though he had this yogic venture a routine.
From Patna a journalist met me in the JNU many years back called .Amlemdu works with AAJ at Patna and is a cousin of my cousin sister's son from Ojhaul
Today greeted Col IN Jha from Gujarat who was active at Kota and will work for Mithila in futre.
Last year I was at Kanpur on that day.

Many Maithils have sent SMS, mails and some have called also.
I wish all of them and others through this mail the same gaiety in their lives.

केन्द्रीय पर्यटन मंत्री श्री सुबोध कान्त सही को अभी अभी चित्रगुप्त पूजा, हिनू में सीतामढ़ी में सीता सर्किट और मिथिला सर्किट बना पर्यटन को उद्योग बनाने के लिए दिया हूँ.
अपने संक्षिप्त भाषण में उन्होंने मिथिलावासियों की बड़ी की की वे झारखण्ड में रहकर भी विशिष्ट ढंग से चित्रगुप्त भगवन की पूजा करते हैं और सीता मैया की जन्मस्थली के विकास की बात सोचते हैं

सीता सर्किट की बात मैं २० वर्ष से उठा रहा हूँ पर २६.३.२०११ को श्री सुबोध्जी ने मुझे सून तुरंत इसकी घोषणा की थी . आज उसका प्रारूप उन्हें प्रस्तुत कर दिया गया है और उन्हें सीतामढ़ी आने का निमंत्रण भी दिया हूँ

Just now during Chitragupt Puja at Hinoo, Ranchi , the sita cuircuit and Mithila cuircuits' details were submitted to the Union Tourism Minister Shri Subodhkant Sahay which can booster tourism like an industry in Mihtila(Bihar)
In his brief speech he praised Mithilavasee who celebrate Chitagupta puja with such distinction and even living in a remote Jharkhand care for the birthplace of Mother Seeta.

At dais I could get this opprtunity to interact with him for a few minutes for this subject which he had promised at the HEC, Ranchi on 26.3.2011 which I had been proposing for the past 20 years which he announced at once in his speech there that he would make /Seeta cuircuit.'

I also gave him an invitation to visit Seetamarhi

Today is Rashtriy Chikistak Divas s the Dhanwantari Jayanti-

Today is Rashtriy Chikistak Divas which the NMO calls the Dhanwantari Jayanti- usually people know it as Dhanteras, remembering the pot in which Amrit was brought by Dhanwanatari forgett the Amrit itself.

NMO in its early days(in 1980s) started to celebrate it, howeve4r agterwards some persons persuaded the IMA to celebrate Dr.BC Roy's birth and death day 1st July as 'Doctors' Day.'
I have great admiration of Dr. Roy but at the same time reservations too..if so then why not on the first Indian medical graduate of the Medical College,Kolkata and then who amongst them from that batch- the eldest or youngest?
Even Dr. BC Roy would have loved the proposition of Dhanwantari Jayanti for this day which would have been applicable to all pathys.

The fancy of naming some person for such days is endless eg. Dr. Radhakrishanan's birthday as Teachers' day, celbrated in schools where Radhakrishanan never taught. Some psycophants asjed him and he himself prosposed so( if a modern teacher was to be selected Bal gangadhar Tilak was far appropriate or Mastarda Sury Sen of Chattgram- still our Bengal is 'Paschimobanga' and Mastarda fought for whol Indian nation though Gurupurnima or Vyaspurnima has been in Indian mind for this day and cannot be altered by governmental orders.

Likewise Children Day for Nehru's birthday as was communicated by his father Moltilal Nehru when he was ad-hic president when Jawahar was in jail.

For science Raman's birthday seems no controversy as he was not a political man but then why not JC Bose's? After all Noble have been denied to many and his contribution was in modern day more weighty.

I read once Ram Manohar Lohia had said no person's name be added to any such thing/ institution/ towns unless 300 years have elapsed.

I am sorry. even the RSS people have forgotten this norm and have jumbled up their pratah smaran with myriads of names(though have left Vidyapati likie great poet and warrior with Islamic hordes).

Anyway , today I got up raly morning to have my daily sandhyavandan-tarpan, Panchdevta puja and added for the Day Lord Dhanwantari without telling to go like that of Lord Vishnu whom we never say to go.

It sgould be celebrated when kartik Krishna Trayodashi falls in the morning like tha tof any bath related PUrnima-Sankranti etc.(I feel if that is on two days first day should be taken as birth of the Lord- why He will wait?).

However Dhanteras is to be celebrated when this Trayodashi falls in the evening (as done for Deepawali also)however if it falls on two such days later day's evening is to be taken like that of Pradosh Trayodashi or Chaturdashi of Lord Shiva.
Pradosh is 3 ghadi time इए 72 मिनुतेस after sunset(a muhurta (मुहूर्त) is equal to 2 ghadiyas, or approximately 48 minutes ).( a day is of 60 Ghdis). Many Pamchangs have wrongly put the day on 24rd evening as Dhanwantari jayanti with Dhanteras but in one Hindu Chetna calendar I found 25th today as correct as this morning had some 2 dand 6 pal Trayodashi.

1 danda---> 24 minutes
60 pal--->1 danda
Interestingly in Hindu system there is no AM/PM but

From sunrise to 1.5 prahars is called Purvanha, then one prahar is madhyanha, then one prahar is aparahna and in then half prahar of evening is Sayanh.

For some festivals pradosh is taken (not the morning tithi which is usually taken) like in the holikadahan, Shardpurnima's Laxmi Pooja..

Probably I ma digressing but let me say that in the Bhagwad one second's 1040th part is taken as the initial unit of time..

welcome short medicine course

I am happy that Govt. of India has approved three and half yeras Bachelore of Rural Medicine and Surgery (BRMS) which is the new name of the old LMP like degree I had been advocating for introduction since 1980s.

Though I had wished it a base course after which student could opt for any pathy- MBBS, BAMS, DHMS etc. yer it will be a milestone in the delivery of medical services to the far flung areas.
It will need name change soon as by 2050 India will be half urbanised and hence rural urban divide will no longer work; in cities and metros slums will outnumber 'healthy' villages.

Only a kalidas like Maithil may cut the branch of the tree whereupon he/she is seated--

I am not a leader to attract crowd like that for Telangana statehood but some leader will come on surface- workers' may meet me..
I know it is very difficult to get workers who are selfless and egoless and that too among Maithil community where everyone thinks superior.

I am still happy if anybody work at his/her own, hiowever those who want to work with AMP are welcome.

Many youth are not happy with Mithila movement and it only proves that Kalidas was a Maithil. Only a kalidas like Maithil may cut the branch of the tree whereupon he/she is seated-- (and therby will not like Mithila state and will see submerged and become identityless remaining in BIhar).

There are some spoilers; some lost hearts and some equivocal- remeber I met everyone of such during my solo sojourn and if some wants leave in the way is his preference; for me it will be as if he did not meet me..



For me it was after many years that I amd doing Puja in a proper way- yet tomorrow I will start after comleting Navmai paath and home..without waiting for Jayantis to be cut..


I will be reaching JJhanjharpur 6th morning- will move roundabout villages on 6th and 7th,if bike is available or will visit some places by public transport.

Anti corruption rally at Shyamali,Ranchi Yesterday night I witnessed a candle march by young students and was immensely pleased- the colony I live is having one of the best institutions of the country DAV JVM Shyamali and DPS which each year give dozens of IIT and CBSE medical students-(apart from famous Dhoni is its product). They were self inspired. I attach some of the files video and photo of them I could get as incidentally a camera was in my pocket(after recording a discourse on the Ramcharitmanas)..
