Bhusar children
I everyday pass a small river bridge to go to my duty place and thousands of vechiles do pass that but hardly people know that the river was named BHUSAR which I could know from a guide map located at the Shymali Colony enrance gate at North Office Para which is an accepted Hinglish (likewise South Office para named nrth and south of previous AG, Bihar which is now AG, Jharkhand and in fact there are so many offices there or anywhere in the caoital town that it was ifficult to say north or south of Office and that too of hich office you belonged to and rightly once my nationalst Maithili coworker Sajesh Mohan Thakur(hailing from Motia-Dumaria of Santhal Pargana’s Godda district) had oce told me that call those as DKHIN PARA and UTTAR PARA. In fact these names will be loved by a sizable Bengali community there though there is no famous Dakhinpara, Uttarpara is a famous place related to the Great Aurobindo who had given there memorable historical speech after coming out of Jail. Once I had gone there to see the plaque commemorating that historical incident in a library but being a Dashmi day of Durga Puja that was closed. Of course I saw the Bengali ladies rubbbg Colours(Gulal) to each others’ faces making them more beautiful!
Anyway I was talking for Bhusar which I crss daily- in fact crossing ‘Bhu’ eart daily not only ‘sar’ or river! I had taken nirmal(the withered flowers and other puja materials as well cut photographs of gods from newspapers and marriage invitation cards etc. which I usually do Jal pravah for keeping their honour intact.
When I threw the plastic pack this morning in the river water it was swayed away a little and I was thinking a day my body or panda will be swayed in water just like I saw my parents’ in the river Swarnrekha of which surely Bhusar tributary will meet somewhere. I saw rag pickers caught it out of water and found nothing of their use. I asked them to throw that in river water and they did.
I had two coins in my pocket (which I had thought to give to shared auto while going to Argora-Ashoknagar for a work in the SBI there) and I wanted to give them one
those. I threw one coin on the delta like sand below and the little girl found that. I asked the boy to come and shouted ,”Catch,” and lo! the nephew of Dhoni caught that so well!(Yes, that is the point exactly where Indian skipper would have been muttering while like a child them and the famous sanjay Sweet was there nearby who is his friend!
I as a doctor of the company where Dhoni’s father worked in the water station( just nearby my old quarter) have proud in him. However, I think whether Dhoni was also not a Bhusar boy like I saw both . Yes, there face was excited even with that one coin- one may tell me miser that inflated coin will bring hardly anything even in the just came era of recession but still a coin has some meaning for many children of BHUSAR. Long live my Bhusar boys! Have you a good Deepawali! Though I am going to Delhi today I recall a very poor family at NOIDA’s roadside where once I had seen a Deep in a hut, worshipping Laxmi. I did that worship yesterday and also worshipped Lord Dhanwantari’s photo after a pradosh fast(though took sweet and juice at a house visited first time) . My sister told me to immerse the little idols of Ganesha and Laxmi after I return from Delhi. Immersion is postponed not pre-poned she said. I will see whether little BHUSAR boys will be again there to take a catch of coins…

Thakre's arrest(who now hardly needs writing Raj and his one point programme for popularizing himself is achieved at the cost of the life of a young student who incidentally was from the state of Bihar).
To me there is nothing as BIHARI or Marathi- the nationality of India is one which was originally as BHARATI called in Vishnupuran..
"Uttarm yat samdudrasya, Himadraischaiv dakshinam
Varsham tad Bharatam nam, BHARATI ysay Santatih.."
(North of ocean, south of Himalayas is the land called Bharat the offspring of which is BHARATI.)
In fact, Bharati and Hindu is interchangeable and hence Bharat was later called as Hindustan which became more so after deducting a PAKISTAN on the name of religion.
This BHARATI probably with Yavan factor( i.e. = Y) became Bhartiya..and that is our nationality.
Rightly somebody has commented Indian states are for administrative reasons though fact is that this administration should be cohesive as well and hence, language was taken a major yardstick for rearranging states and that is subject to revision as per democratic way and people like me had supported creation of Jharkhand and are demanding Mithila state which though has a Vedic and epical history and geography was merged in so called Bihar in 1329 after a Muslim onslaught by Gia -Suddin Tuglaque.
I feel Bihar like other bigger states needs bifurcation rather trifurcation creation of Mithila(adding some districts from Jharkhand too), Magadh and Bhojpur(adding Purvanchal area of UP).
Bihar had no history of antiquity and hence calling People of Bihar origin seems ridiculous- then why not People of Bengal origin(till 1912 even Orissa was part of Bengal presidency which had present Bengladesh too)..
Looking at the history from a biased angle will result confrontation only which should be seen scientifically.
People like Raj Thakre needed to be ignored who has no knowledge of culture of India though Shiv Sena pleaded for Hinduism..
Minus present Bihar's Mithila where will stand Hinduism?

So Hinduism- (minus) Rigveda's I, II, III Mandal, Gayatri of VishwaMitra of Vedic Mithila + Yajngyavalkya's Shukla Yajurveda,Ishawasyopanishad, Shatpath Brahman, Brihdaranyakopanishad, Guihya and Dharmsutra + Maitreyee's samvad + Gargis's wisdom+ Ashtavakra's AshtavakraGita+ four of six theist (astik) Hindu philosophies(Gautam's Law, Kapil's Sankhya, Kanad's Vaisheshik, Jaimini's Purva Mimansa) + Shabar's Bhshya in Epical age will remain what for any Hindu who may be proud of calling a Hindu or Bhartiya??
Even among the atheist six Hindu philosophies( three of Buddhas, born of a Lichhavi father and one of Mahavir Jain of Vaishali ; both from southern parts of Mithila - Maithili(and its daughter language Bangla starts from Budhha's Chryapad( Gan o doha) sang by Vikramshila's Buddhist Monks of Mithila and equally it was debated and uprooted in the land by Vartiks and Teekas of Kumaril and Meemansa of Prabhakar, Murai Mishra and Mandan-Bharati who had historical debate with Adi shankaracharya.
Vachaspati I (of Andhra Thadhi)'s Bhamati ( an immortal treatise on the name of his wife) is uniquely preserved in the Sarswati Mahal(Library)at Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu.
Udayanacharya of Kariyan(Samastipur) was one who challenged Lord Jagannath that only he could save Him from Buddhist onslaughts and that he did so by non-violent debates that today no native of Mithila is a traditional Buddhist.
Jyotirishwa's Varnrtanakar written in 1330 AD is the first prose(and encyclopedia) in any north Indian language. Mithila's Panji(marriage registration records) is unique.
Vidyapati's (1380-1460) songs are immortal.
Vachaspati II from my ancestral village Samaul had 41 books and hence highest degree (D.Litt/ D.Sc./MD) are conferred on his name Vidya Vachaspati/ VIjnan Vachaspati/ AAyurvigyan Vachaspati.
Navy-Nyay(New Law) system of Mithila had Gangesh Upadhyay, Pakshdhar Mishra, Pt. Bhavnath Mishra(who never asked anything hence called Ayachi) and his son Shankar Mishra(whose famous Balaoham Jagdanandah name bala saraswati, apurne Panchame Varshe, Varnayami jagatrayam..Though I am a child, not even completed five years, my intellect is not so, I can decrine three Lokas)..and then Varddhman, Laxmidhar, Halayudh, Shreedutta, Chadeshwar's wisdome have no parrellel.
Even in British period Mithila's Umapati's Parijat Haran, Goboinddas's Music and Chanda Jha's Mithila Bhasha Ramayan are superb.
If any Maithil has today to got to Mumbai(a dowered island for a Portuguese princess to English Prince) it is merely mismanagement.
In spite of the added glory of Ashoka of Magadh and valor of Bhojpur –the land of Kunwar Singh and JP , I do not feel to call myself a Bihari which technically I am (that word is also from Vihar and has Maithili's stump to call Bihar like Bikramshila for Vikramshila), I feel Thakre's bias are unwarranted and any person supporting him need introspection whether he/she is fit to call offspring of great Shivaji or Tukaram.
I am not against any area or language as I know all sing glory of Bharat Mata.
Let us isolate such from the mainstream thinking of India.

My Paper -cuttings
My Paper -cuttings
I was awake till midnight last night for sorting out the newspapers piled up for long both from which I had cut some information and yet to.
I do not since when this habit I have but surely was reinforced after I read Md. Ali Jinnah had this quality. Once I met one advocate activist for Human Rights who said that he us to cut newspapers every night but for me it is a task done after weeks or even months.
I had classified them well in various categories medical and non-medical information, science, astrology, spiritual, history, politics(developmental only otherwise one will have to keep all papers as they are usually filled with that), persons(of eminence), management, arts, sports, archeology, history, astronomy, Bihar, Nepal , literature, Sanskrit, and some more which also depicts my areas of interest.
And my room is filled with such cuttings mostly of the Times of India and that is for over decades might be and have many rare things there as why 108 japas(because sun’s and moon’s diameter is around 108 times of the distance from earth).

I saw a Bhojpuri channel Mahua only two days back while I was at someone’s house. Usually I do not watch TV. I was surprised that a Punjabin (looking like so) was reading news in chaste Bhojpuri and even my friend Ravi Shankar Prasad, former Minister, GOI, was addressing the media in chaste Bhojpuri.
I liked it as Bhojpuri is spoken by a vast community in our country and abroad and I wish them all success.
However, an imagination came to my mind whether any Maithili Channel will come, named as MAKHAN which was so important for that festive Kojagra days. Let us hope some persons come up with it.
While on Indo_Nepal border in Mithila region, I saw persons fan of FM Channels like Hello Mithila, Janakpur Mithila etc. where Ramaulibali and Raghopurbali were famous serials where their roles as putohu or bhaujis must have been marvelous which has popularized Maithili without any pen or paper. Some words in Nepali FM’s had peculiar words like Pakrau gel chhaik for got arrested.

It is a wish which I do not know when would be fulfilled to connect Jharkhand with the interiors of Mithila.
I was busy in signature campaign for regularizing Jaynagar- Ranchi train till I reached Barauni on 12th – say for six hours to have some 400 signatures. Probably the mobile number will help me to talk the persons of various villages for any organizational/personal need.
We had to submit the signatures to the Railway Minister, GOI through the DRM, Hatia and by the time formalities were over I was again late for my health centre and had to skip lunch though I had taken two guavas and few biscuits at Maheshwar Shji’s house while our learned State president Dr. Guneshwar Jha was explaining the various avtars in one’s life time and also the significance of those and I was on net there. I had commented listening to him partly that sounded like Heckle’s famous saying, “ontogeny repeats phylogeny,”meaning a person repeats in his/her life the evolutionary cycle of man.
Since I could not pay attention to him I have just asked him on phone- his analogy sounds interesting:
Matsyavatar=While a foetus in the mother’s abdomen
Kacchapavatar= when a baby crawls with 4 limbs(2 hands and two legs)
Varahavatara= till baby has no sense of distinction between faeces or food
Narsinghavatara= when a bay is a bit grown and scrubs others or picks up glasses of elders if taken in arms
Vamanavatara= when baby starts asking for something
Parshuramavatara= when baby shows anger
These all stages till aged 5 after which comes
Ramavatara= needing two gurus one for Shaastra/Brahmjnan (like Vashishtha) and the other for Shastra(weapon) jnan(like Vishwamitra)
The whole teaching of Hindu philosophy is:
Matridevo Bhav
Pitridevo Bhav
Acharyadevo Bhav= Jnan
Atithidevo Bhav= Socialization
Ramavatara signifies tyag, achar, sadachar(sacrifice and good conduct) which had made Ram as Maryadapurushottam
While Krishnavatara signifies prem, karuna, daya( love, compassion and empathy) and hence, is called Krishnam Vande Jagadguru.
These both Avatars are till age 55 (or retirement from service) after which
Buddhavatara supervenes in life which is meant for introspection.
After age 75 is Kalki avatara in life when senses (indriyas) do not work and person has only sense of rights.
It seems while on computer I forgot that Dr. Jha was describing the Jivan (Life) Express and its various stations as avatars while I busy for the Maithili Express in my mind.
In fact in the afternoon, I had anger on non-availability of DRM, and I had anger on his PS Henry(who in fact did not inform us to wait to meet him and thougy we were till late there he did not give importance even seeing such a delegation of dignitaries of the town) for which I had lodged a complain too but when in the evening I had a telephonic talk with the DRM Sri A. K.Dutta(as had been suggested by Dr. Jha) I felt he was sympathetic to our petition to the Railway Minister and informed me that around 200 had congratulated him on phone for the train and he himself belonged to Samastipur and was also anxious for Jogbani. I told him that I belonged to Forbesganj and in fact after 11 years I could visit my ancestral village in Madhubani, due to Puja special for which we were thankful ti railways. Whenever I recall the sonorous Maithili in every compartment of that train on 12th October, I feel Maithili Express would be the fittest name for such a regular train though e have not mentioned that in our memorandum.
There are so many persons are anti-Maithli while Maithili is mother of all- jagajjanani, the Universal Mother!
In the evening I took my lunch and went out to meet Dr. Ashok Jha of Ghoghardiha. I saw news in the papers ours mixed with other Maihtil group which too had gone to the DRM the same day maybe in the afternoon. Wile there demand for Diwali and Chhath special we did not raise (as it was known to me from some sources that it was on the anvil seeing the success of Puja special), we had asked for regular train to Jaynagar may be half of that goes to Jogbani as well.
I think such a train if named MAITHILI Express and goes alternately to Jaynagar, Jogbani, Saharsa and Narkatiaganj in for 2, 2.1 days every day will bind Jharkhandi people with Maithils and what better can be the name of the train than MAITHILI by which Balmiki had addressed j Mother Janki in the Ramayana.

I think such a train if named MAITHILI Express and goes alternately to Jaynagar, Jogbani, Saharsa and Narkatiaganj in for 2, 2.1 days every day will bind Jharkhandi people with Maithils and what better can be the name of the train than MAITHILI by which Balmiki had addressed j Mother Janki in the Ramayana.
It is a wish which I do not know when would be fulfilled to connect Jharkhand with the interiors of Mithila.

Since I could not pay attention to him I have just asked him on phone- his analogy sounds interesting:

The whole teaching of Hindu philosophy is:

K.Dutta(as had been suggested by Dr. Jha) I felt he was sympathetic to our petition to the Railway Minister and informed me that around 200 had congratulated him on phone for the train and he himself belonged to Samastipur and was also anxious for Jogbani. I told him that I belonged to Forbesganj and in fact after 11 years I could visit my ancestral village in Madhubani, due to Puja special for which we were thankful ti railways. Whenever I recall the sonorous Maithili in every compartment of that train on 12th October, I feel Maithili Express would be the fittest name for such a regular train though e have not mentioned that in our memorandum.
There are so many persons are anti-Maithli while Maithili is mother of all- jagajjanani, the Universal Mother!

Inauguration of the office of the AMP, Jharkhand State
On 14.10.2008, around 10 am, teacher Amarnath Jha reminded me for inauguration of the Jharkhand State, AMP, office which I had deferred during Pitripksha on 21st September.
In fact, I had forgotten that and was under the Mithila-trans. I phoned many and expected around 10 in the hurriedly called function. There were a few more than that number. Ramekbal Snbgh ‘Vineet’, former deputy editor, the Ranchi Express, presided over the function crushed the coconut and we sang , ‘Jai Jai Bhairavi Asur Bhayauni…’and then had Makhan, Mithai and Pan on the eve of Kojagra.
He narrated how he had started Mathili Vikash Parishad in 1992 and had stimulated me to join that judging me a selfless person. Maheshwar Sah, VP,AMP, Jharkhand, Satish Chandra Mishra, President,AMP, Ranchi , Janardan Jha and Chandra prakash Jha from Ashoknagar , Ashoknagar, Ajay Kr. Jha, Secretary, AMP, Ranchi, Sanat Kr. Jha, Saharsa Mitra Mandal(AMP),Ranchi and me were persons came out of Harmu.
The room has been provided by Dharmeshwar Jha, a retd. Teacher expected that activities will boom from there.
Dhirendra Mishra, retd. IAS, VP, AMP, Jharkhand, though could not come due to last minute problem wished good work of AMP in his inaugural message on mobile.
Local workers were there like Rajni Kant Choudhary, a senior lawyer, Maharudra Jha who had recently organized my meeting at his village Nagdah ,Pramod Jha, Bhogendra Jha etc. and notably Achutanand Thakur, an old uncle of mine from my village whose daughter in law Kusum Thakur had greeted me in the day on completion of my cycle yatra in Mithila. I mentioned her name to him and he was delighted. He recalled in 1996 when at Madhubani he had seen some activities on my ancestral land where in that evening Jaykant Mishra from Allahabad had said,”without Mithila state Maithili and Maithils have no future,” I read that in this morning while collecting issues of Maithili Sandesh.
Everyone wished a good work of AMP. Advocate Chandra Prakash Jha who has keen interest in books and ancient treasures of Mithila was designated Office secretary who would open office every evening.
The address of office is: Behind D-110, MIG, Arvindnagar, Harmu Housing Colony, Ranchi 834002 (only 3 minutes walk from Sahjanand Chowk).
Hope soon the area will be identified reversely not by the Jangbahadur khatal and no one would have trouble of searching the place like we had.
In the end we took Oath as AMP worker and repeated Mithila Prayer of Baidyanath Mishra ‘Yatri.’

My sister was at kolkata for kojagra function and Rajnikant Choudhari, Satish Mishra , Maheshwar sah and me greeted her and her husband, Vivekanada.
Mrs. Rajnikant Chowdhary had invited me for the fuction’s Prasad but I could not go rather while returning from just opened Antarrashtriya Maithili Parishad, Jharkhand State office we spent a few minutes at the office of the Jharkhand Maithili Manch where Saras was reciting his poem on Kusha breech of Koshi.
On return to my house, I too did open the doors ( and even gate afterwards) ; I had a bath and puja of Mother Laxmi. I was also scared that even if I did not expect money a deprivation of that would not be good for me.
There is no Laxmi in my house- I am a single. My Laxmi had already left me long back and the one other Laxmi whom I phoned last night cut that in 38 seconds and asked in the morning as to why I had phoned. Her condition was unacceptable to me and I said not to phone her again!
It is said if you run to Laxmi , Laxmi will run away from you.

While coming from my chamber to residence I saw no car plying on road ; schools were closed and coming to library looked as if curfew was self-imposed – Advani visiting the town. What a scene for welcoming a person in waiting PM? Advani is not an atanki( a terrorist)!
Had I been on his position and age would have hardly cared even for my life which would have been too short to count even if I would have been of his age. A friend and coworker of my uncle in Rajasthan, Advani commands respect. Vajpayee too but probably he was more acceptable as his tongue was sweet and oratory superb.
I watched Advani’s huge posters and disliked personality projection above ideals and for that matter I never liked Vajpayee’s posters too.
PP Guruji (MS Golwalkar) had written in his last letter no statue/monument be erected after his death. His that simplicity has not been followed in the glare of westernization even by those who are opposed to that from the core of their hearts.

I got the news of Dr. Sujit Dhar's demise on 6th October morning when I had just finished my Sandhya vandan and was about to start Chandi path at Jaynagar on the Indo-Nepal boarder where I was to be busy for a cycle march and a workers' training camp for the statehood of Mithila and was in no position to go to Kolkata.
I remained very close to him from 1986 to a few years back till he was mentally active.
I saw him first on December 7th 1986 at the National Medicos Organisation’s fourth(and in fact first nationally invited) conference. Ma. Shrishankar Tiwary had suggested me his name for inviting in conference and I had requested him by letter to preside over the concluding session of the conference where Mananiya Bhaskar Rao ,A.I. organizing secretary, Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi kalian Ashram was to speak.
Dr. Dhar arrived by morning train from Kolkata and we put him in a hostel room of the MGM Medical college for rest.
Ma. Tiwary hinted me to give him some responsibility and I initially thought for vice president and asked a few workers younger to me- as I was the founder and key worker of the NMO everybody used to accept my verdict. I told Pramod Tiwary that I was not sure whether Dr. Dhar was an allopathic doctor or of any other system as his envelop had no mention of any degree or designation. He told me that at least that must be ensured before any declaration as ours was an organization of MBBS,BDS students and doctors.
Asking introduction from a such senior person was not easy yet I went to his room and asked that I wanted a few lines for introducing him in the concluding session. He gave me a CV which was very unusual and I took a few seconds to scan that he was on the editorial board of JIMA(Journal of Indian Medical Association) implying that he as MBBS at least and in fact I did not read other lines(and in later course could see one of his stamp that he was a DTCD and from someone could know that he was a MBBS from Medical College (the first Medical College of country is only named this in Kolkata)..
He could not have his MD, I presume because he opted for social work and truly Dr. Shanti Prakash, a senior friend of me, once told to me that he himself was degree.
I declared his name as the national President of the NMO in the concluding session; even without consulting him or the incumbent president Dr. S. J. Kale who for a few second, I guessed frowned in exclamation. Dr. Kale, in fact was a true Rishi, a sage in every respect and he was on chair. Not only he, many were exclaimed but wait after speech of Dr. Dhar everybody, had a satisfaction that the NMO got even a greater person as its President. I felt, I was a bit haste and undemocratic also but till such unusual decisions are taken, one could not get persons like Dr. Dhar to had an organization who was not even its member till date.
And Dr. Dhar remained NMO’s president till 8th February 1997 despite his reminders every year to change for other.
In him I found the sense of a true worker, a swayamsevak who embodied Sangh principle in life, a spirit what Swami Vivekananda would have in his vision and an action what Ma. Eknath Rande would have,
He was simple, sober and a man of unusual wisdom who wanted that the NMO be remain independent in its growth though with all ideological roots. He had asked us not to convene meetings at the Keshab Bhavan, not to have office in the premises of Vanvasi kalian Kendra, not to shift office to metro of Delhi , not because he was an ideologically deviant like me but had sad me once that posting a person from this to that post does not improve the working.
He had a vision for the NMO’s distinct image which I ever craved and in this respect he was close to Ma. Abaji who always wanted its self growth.
Dr. Dhar was close to Vajpayee and Advani and had told me the secrets of the day when they were tossing in Dr. Dhar’s house whether to make Government or not? Once while I was taking him to station he even told me that four persons were giving PM’s secretariat a bad name- when I spoke two such names he did not open his mouth further.
After Dr. Madhup and me dissociated from the NMO, grabbed by some workers, I had occasion to talk to him and he was sorry.
On 31st august, I had gone to his house from my sister’s house nearby at Kolkata, thinking to see him and also to take my bath there but his wife said that he was sleeping and also I felt that thee was a change in her response to me because I had dissociated myself from the ideological banyan though not left its roots in anyway.
I came out and went to Burra bazaar thinking that that was my last visit to that great Dr. Dhar’s house who was not only my elder brother in fact his name was printed above the name of my elder brother in my marriage card which made my brother too in a vexed mood though himself a root of the same banyan he could not reconcile who Dr. Dhar was at whose residence my marriage too was fixed on 16.12.1988 and there after on break of my marriage he was so sorry at.
He had told to the grandfather of Suman, my would be wife that he would happily go to distant village for my marriage which I did not agree and called him at Ranchi for marriage.
Last I talked to him in his son’s marriage where Ma. Sudarshnaji, Ma. Ashok Singhl were present. He recognized me and said a few sentences. I was always thinking a time will come when such persons were not with us and he had left us – when I was in fact to traverse the same village area where Dr. Dhar wold have loved to go to the interiors of Mithila where Mother Seeta had once seen Lord ram first ther in Pushpwatika
Country lives in village was known to Dr. Dhar though he was born and brought up in Kolkata and was the youngest among four( Puri, Bapat and one more I do not remember) who established Sangh in Bengal. Other three said him to marry and Puri provided his house where he remained till his death and even Purji was there and I could know after long that what was the story behind that house which was my Pushpwatika..
I recall how Dr. Dhar was distributing even food to delegates at Gwalior conference, convened by Dr. Madhup who organized any conference out of Bihar for the first time amid difficulties. My wife could not understand the ragged truths behind the novice like me’s work and though she attended conference left me too afterwards despite my saying that I was doing a nation building work like Dr. Dhar’s in erecting a Rock memorial of Vivekananda.
Ma.Eknath Ranade had said he was not putting one brick upon other by making the Memorial and so Dr. Dhar was making persons like me and my friends who can shplder the health responsibilities of the nation.
Whether we can do that is a question and a true obituary to him from us the members of NMO?

NMO will oranise Ist Dr. Sujit Dhar Oration in his memory at its XXXII National Conference, BHOPAL on Nov.15-16,2008. His life sketch as on web is following:
Dr Sujit Dhar, Member of Central Advisory Council of Vishwa Hindu Parishad,
passes away on October 5, 2008.
Born on November 5, 1934 in Calcutta, Dr Sujit Dhar had a brilliant academic career all through his student life. A merit scholar in the undergraduate medical course in the Calcutta Medical College, from where he graduated in 1957, he topped the merit list in the postgraduate examination of the
Calcutta University in the subject of his specialization Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases. He has to his credit 12 original scientific papers published in leading medical journals. For a long spell of 10 years (1964 – 73), he was the Chief of the Editorial Department of the Journal of the Indian Medical Association. Since 1974, he is practicing in Calcutta as a Consulted Physician and Cardiologist.
In his early boyhood he was attracted to RSS movement and as an ardent worker of the organization, shouldered various guidance of the Late Eknath Ranade from 1949 and it was at his behest that Dr Dhar became a Pracharak (a whole time worker) of RSS for 3 years (1960-63). In 1964, Dr Dhar joined Sri Ranade to work for the Vivekananda Rock Memorial Project. In 1970, when West Bengal was passing through a critical phase and the atmosphere was surcharged with violence and terror, a forum for rendering social services and fostering a nationalist intellectual movement was started in Calcutta under the name of “Yoyakshema”, and Dr Dhar was the General Secretary of this well-known and prestigious forum ever since its inception.

As the Convener-Secretary of the Purvanchal Council of Vishwa Hindu Parishad, he had been closely watching the complex cross-currents operating in the sensitive and problem-ridden North-Eastern region of the country and disseminating valuable information on the subject to various all-India forums.
Dr. Dhar was very close to three RSS Sarsanghachalaks Sri M.S.Golwalkar, Sri Balasaheb Deoras and Sri K.S.Sudarshan and he was a close associate of RSS stalwart Sri Balasaheb Deoras. Under his guidance Dr. Dhar did a lot of work at time of Bangladesh War on this eastern front in 1971.
An impressive orator, who was equally fluent in Bengali, Hindi and English and published many articles in different national news magazines and journals. He was also known for his in-depth study of Bangladesh affairs. Recently, he took over the onerous duties of the General Secretary of the Seemanta Shanti O Suraksha Samiti, West Bengal, which had been set up in February 1986, to mobilize public opinion against the massive illegal infiltration of Bangladeshi Muslims in West Bengal.
I got the news of Dr. Sujit Dhar's demise on 6th October morning when I had just finished my Sandhya vandan and was about to start Chandi path at Jaynagar on the Indo-Nepal boarder where I was to be busy for a cycle march and a workers' training camp for the statehood of Mithila and was in no position to go to Kolkata.
I remained very close to him from 1986 to a few years back till he was mentally active.
I saw him first on December 7th 1986 at the National Medicos Organisation’s fourth(and in fact first nationally invited) conference. Ma. Shrishankar Tiwary had suggested me his name for inviting in conference and I had requested him by letter to preside over the concluding session of the conference where Mananiya Bhaskar Rao ,A.I. organizing secretary, Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi kalian Ashram was to speak.
Dr. Dhar arrived by morning train from Kolkata and we put him in a hostel room of the MGM Medical college for rest.
Ma. Tiwary hinted me to give him some responsibility and I initially thought for vice president and asked a few workers younger to me- as I was the founder and key worker of the NMO everybody used to accept my verdict. I told Pramod Tiwary that I was not sure whether Dr. Dhar was an allopathic doctor or of any other system as his envelop had no mention of any degree or designation. He told me that at least that must be ensured before any declaration as ours was an organization of MBBS,BDS students and doctors.
Asking introduction from a such senior person was not easy yet I went to his room and asked that I wanted a few lines for introducing him in the concluding session. He gave me a CV which was very unusual and I took a few seconds to scan that he was on the editorial board of JIMA(Journal of Indian Medical Association) implying that he as MBBS at least and in fact I did not read other lines(and in later course could see one of his stamp that he was a DTCD and from someone could know that he was a MBBS from Medical College (the first Medical College of country is only named this in Kolkata)..
He could not have his MD, I presume because he opted for social work and truly Dr. Shanti Prakash, a senior friend of me, once told to me that he himself was degree.
I declared his name as the national President of the NMO in the concluding session; even without consulting him or the incumbent president Dr. S. J. Kale who for a few second, I guessed frowned in exclamation. Dr. Kale, in fact was a true Rishi, a sage in every respect and he was on chair. Not only he, many were exclaimed but wait after speech of Dr. Dhar everybody, had a satisfaction that the NMO got even a greater person as its President. I felt, I was a bit haste and undemocratic also but till such unusual decisions are taken, one could not get persons like Dr. Dhar to had an organization who was not even its member till date.
And Dr. Dhar remained NMO’s president till 8th February 1997 despite his reminders every year to change for other.
In him I found the sense of a true worker, a swayamsevak who embodied Sangh principle in life, a spirit what Swami Vivekananda would have in his vision and an action what Ma. Eknath Rande would have,
He was simple, sober and a man of unusual wisdom who wanted that the NMO be remain independent in its growth though with all ideological roots. He had asked us not to convene meetings at the Keshab Bhavan, not to have office in the premises of Vanvasi kalian Kendra, not to shift office to metro of Delhi , not because he was an ideologically deviant like me but had sad me once that posting a person from this to that post does not improve the working.
He had a vision for the NMO’s distinct image which I ever craved and in this respect he was close to Ma. Abaji who always wanted its self growth.
Dr. Dhar was close to Vajpayee and Advani and had told me the secrets of the day when they were tossing in Dr. Dhar’s house whether to make Government or not? Once while I was taking him to station he even told me that four persons were giving PM’s secretariat a bad name- when I spoke two such names he did not open his mouth further.
After Dr. Madhup and me dissociated from the NMO, grabbed by some workers, I had occasion to talk to him and he was sorry.
On 31st august, I had gone to his house from my sister’s house nearby at Kolkata, thinking to see him and also to take my bath there but his wife said that he was sleeping and also I felt that thee was a change in her response to me because I had dissociated myself from the ideological banyan though not left its roots in anyway.
I came out and went to Burra bazaar thinking that that was my last visit to that great Dr. Dhar’s house who was not only my elder brother in fact his name was printed above the name of my elder brother in my marriage card which made my brother too in a vexed mood though himself a root of the same banyan he could not reconcile who Dr. Dhar was at whose residence my marriage too was fixed on 16.12.1988 and there after on break of my marriage he was so sorry at.
He had told to the grandfather of Suman, my would be wife that he would happily go to distant village for my marriage which I did not agree and called him at Ranchi for marriage.
Last I talked to him in his son’s marriage where Ma. Sudarshnaji, Ma. Ashok Singhl were present. He recognized me and said a few sentences. I was always thinking a time will come when such persons were not with us and he had left us – when I was in fact to traverse the same village area where Dr. Dhar wold have loved to go to the interiors of Mithila where Mother Seeta had once seen Lord ram first ther in Pushpwatika
Country lives in village was known to Dr. Dhar though he was born and brought up in Kolkata and was the youngest among four( Puri, Bapat and one more I do not remember) who established Sangh in Bengal. Other three said him to marry and Puri provided his house where he remained till his death and even Purji was there and I could know after long that what was the story behind that house which was my Pushpwatika..
I recall how Dr. Dhar was distributing even food to delegates at Gwalior conference, convened by Dr. Madhup who organized any conference out of Bihar for the first time amid difficulties. My wife could not understand the ragged truths behind the novice like me’s work and though she attended conference left me too afterwards despite my saying that I was doing a nation building work like Dr. Dhar’s in erecting a Rock memorial of Vivekananda.
Ma.Eknath Ranade had said he was not putting one brick upon other by making the Memorial and so Dr. Dhar was making persons like me and my friends who can shplder the health responsibilities of the nation.
Whether we can do that is a question and a true obituary to him from us the members of NMO?

NMO will oranise Ist Dr. Sujit Dhar Oration in his memory at its XXXII National Conference, BHOPAL on Nov.15-16,2008. His life sketch as on web is following:

passes away on October 5, 2008.
Born on November 5, 1934 in Calcutta, Dr Sujit Dhar had a brilliant academic career all through his student life. A merit scholar in the undergraduate medical course in the Calcutta Medical College, from where he graduated in 1957, he topped the merit list in the postgraduate examination of the
Calcutta University in the subject of his specialization Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases. He has to his credit 12 original scientific papers published in leading medical journals. For a long spell of 10 years (1964 – 73), he was the Chief of the Editorial Department of the Journal of the Indian Medical Association. Since 1974, he is practicing in Calcutta as a Consulted Physician and Cardiologist.
In his early boyhood he was attracted to RSS movement and as an ardent worker of the organization, shouldered various guidance of the Late Eknath Ranade from 1949 and it was at his behest that Dr Dhar became a Pracharak (a whole time worker) of RSS for 3 years (1960-63). In 1964, Dr Dhar joined Sri Ranade to work for the Vivekananda Rock Memorial Project. In 1970, when West Bengal was passing through a critical phase and the atmosphere was surcharged with violence and terror, a forum for rendering social services and fostering a nationalist intellectual movement was started in Calcutta under the name of “Yoyakshema”, and Dr Dhar was the General Secretary of this well-known and prestigious forum ever since its inception.

I may write it again afresh but let me post it for a quick information with matters posted by BK Karna on our different Maithili groups.
I am just back- thanks to all who have watched me via B K Karna's postings.
Let me add after reaching Parsa camp continued till 12th. 9 10+ students were addressed for memory and retention methods by me and career counseling by Kripanand Jha.
For villagers Dr. Kamalkant Jha and Shri Kapildev Kuanr and also me conducted Training camp for the Mathili workers..though had to leave the camp on 11th for meetings at Kaluahi Madhubani, Birasair(apart from a hectic few minutes visits t my ancestral village Samaul where I could see after 11 years my uncle 96=year old Shri Kshemkar Thalur(only uncle alive) and one aunt and few Bhaujis , I could not even recognize many of my nieces and nephews who all were excited to see me- so near but so far..My uncle entrusted a taks to Shri Gopiraman Choudhary, President,AMP, Jamshedpur,to come up with a plan with a date of completion(one year I suggested)for YUGAL Mithila Bhavan to be built on our 40' X 60' main roadside ancestral land at Madhubani
which may be AMP headquarters in future.. My uncle told Shri Chowdahry that I would have no time..true, I crossed that road may be 50 times in 11 years but had not gone to see my ruinous small home built by my parents..
We need to built Mithila than our own houses and for me a lonely person has no meaning for a house..
At Birsair a nukkad sabha..villagers were amazed to know that Shri Bidhu Jha , MP in Canada was from that very village..They assurred me to work for Mithila..
Same was the view in nukkad sabha at Kaluahi and distributing posters at my Bhitti Chowk I went Gopiji's house..
My left knee otherwise improving after being cycle-ragged on ragged roads of Mithila( shame to Govt. of Bihar for high claims on good roads!) were relieved on Gopiji's Bolerao that day but more important was his father's (and son's)many experiences with great Dr. Subhadra Jha who had first doctorate in our area north of Madhubani(and Dr. Laxman Jha south of Madhubani)..
It will take an article shape how scientific and development oriented Dr. Subhadra Jha was!
On 12th I was dropped at Jaynanagar where a meeting was held in Manish Tutorials to strengthen AMP and Mithila Movement.
Kamalkant ji briefed me after my departure on 11th how Parsa camp was held and finally following nine(with their mobile number) were awarded certificates(totalling 246 with previous 12 such camps in various districts):

I was dropped at jainagar station by Satish Mishra of Narar, Office secretary, AMP and became busy in signature campaign for regularisation of Ranchi-Jaynagar-Ranchi special train which continued till we passed Barauni in night(at Sakri for breaking Pradosh fast many things were brought by my elder sister and a bhagina came with bahinoi and also a younger sister's husband from Darbhanga). I had forgotten to have lunc on 11th also which Gopiramanji had mentioned in night when I had a multi-cuisne typical Maithil bhojan which was enough for previous and next day!)
Many Maithils, especially Anil Jha 9934152996 helped me in signature campaign for regularisation of Ranchi-Jaynagar-Ranchi special train as if their own work. And not only some 500 signatures are with me to present it to DRM, Hatis in a week, the mobile numbers will help in spreading Mithila message in their villages which also i have taken with naerest Mithila railway station.
Old ABVP full timer, Mithilesh Kumar Jha 9304492732 recognised me at Madhubani and assured me for Dhanbad work where he was a teacher. He also informed me last year's inquiries from a key person for fighting me MP election from Mithila area but I was not interested.
My obkective is to awake Maithils for Mithila .
The train was full of Maihtili sound and even one ex-Gen.Secretary , RJD, Bihar signed whose son was a student of DPS in my colony.
In the morning I invited the boy and his friends(Roshan Kumar 9431474316, Amrit raj 9810524530and Bipul Jha all Shandilya gotri ) for the Chhaya bhoj of my father on 27th October. I tought them geography and history of Mithila ilke our training camp in short from the proofs of Maithili Sandesh 28 which will be shoprtly in your hands and on web.
I came to my chamber directly to see my patients and had bath and puja in the afternoon and am still in trance as if Mrinal pande had written in her Manthan artlce in the Hindi Hindustan on 12th October,2008,
Kaath ki Mithila, Videh Rajbansh aaur Lukathi liye log...
Though no mention of any matter of Mithila but of national scene ,She is more than right for my Mithila is today in fact turned of woods..

I may write it again afresh but let me post it for a quick information with matters posted by BK Karna on our different Maithili groups.
I am just back- thanks to all who have watched me via B K Karna's postings.
Let me add after reaching Parsa camp continued till 12th. 9 10+ students were addressed for memory and retention methods by me and career counseling by Kripanand Jha.
For villagers Dr. Kamalkant Jha and Shri Kapildev Kuanr and also me conducted Training camp for the Mathili workers..though had to leave the camp on 11th for meetings at Kaluahi Madhubani, Birasair(apart from a hectic few minutes visits t my ancestral village Samaul where I could see after 11 years my uncle 96=year old Shri Kshemkar Thalur(only uncle alive) and one aunt and few Bhaujis , I could not even recognize many of my nieces and nephews who all were excited to see me- so near but so far..My uncle entrusted a taks to Shri Gopiraman Choudhary, President,AMP, Jamshedpur,to come up with a plan with a date of completion(one year I suggested)for YUGAL Mithila Bhavan to be built on our 40' X 60' main roadside ancestral land at Madhubani
which may be AMP headquarters in future.. My uncle told Shri Chowdahry that I would have no time..true, I crossed that road may be 50 times in 11 years but had not gone to see my ruinous small home built by my parents..
We need to built Mithila than our own houses and for me a lonely person has no meaning for a house..
At Birsair a nukkad sabha..villagers were amazed to know that Shri Bidhu Jha , MP in Canada was from that very village..They assurred me to work for Mithila..
Same was the view in nukkad sabha at Kaluahi and distributing posters at my Bhitti Chowk I went Gopiji's house..
My left knee otherwise improving after being cycle-ragged on ragged roads of Mithila( shame to Govt. of Bihar for high claims on good roads!) were relieved on Gopiji's Bolerao that day but more important was his father's (and son's)many experiences with great Dr. Subhadra Jha who had first doctorate in our area north of Madhubani(and Dr. Laxman Jha south of Madhubani)..
It will take an article shape how scientific and development oriented Dr. Subhadra Jha was!
On 12th I was dropped at Jaynanagar where a meeting was held in Manish Tutorials to strengthen AMP and Mithila Movement.
Kamalkant ji briefed me after my departure on 11th how Parsa camp was held and finally following nine(with their mobile number) were awarded certificates(totalling 246 with previous 12 such camps in various districts):

I was dropped at jainagar station by Satish Mishra of Narar, Office secretary, AMP and became busy in signature campaign for regularisation of Ranchi-Jaynagar-Ranchi special train which continued till we passed Barauni in night(at Sakri for breaking Pradosh fast many things were brought by my elder sister and a bhagina came with bahinoi and also a younger sister's husband from Darbhanga). I had forgotten to have lunc on 11th also which Gopiramanji had mentioned in night when I had a multi-cuisne typical Maithil bhojan which was enough for previous and next day!)
Many Maithils, especially Anil Jha 9934152996 helped me in signature campaign for regularisation of Ranchi-Jaynagar-Ranchi special train as if their own work. And not only some 500 signatures are with me to present it to DRM, Hatis in a week, the mobile numbers will help in spreading Mithila message in their villages which also i have taken with naerest Mithila railway station.
Old ABVP full timer, Mithilesh Kumar Jha 9304492732 recognised me at Madhubani and assured me for Dhanbad work where he was a teacher. He also informed me last year's inquiries from a key person for fighting me MP election from Mithila area but I was not interested.
My obkective is to awake Maithils for Mithila .
The train was full of Maihtili sound and even one ex-Gen.Secretary , RJD, Bihar signed whose son was a student of DPS in my colony.
In the morning I invited the boy and his friends(Roshan Kumar 9431474316, Amrit raj 9810524530and Bipul Jha all Shandilya gotri ) for the Chhaya bhoj of my father on 27th October. I tought them geography and history of Mithila ilke our training camp in short from the proofs of Maithili Sandesh 28 which will be shoprtly in your hands and on web.
I came to my chamber directly to see my patients and had bath and puja in the afternoon and am still in trance as if Mrinal pande had written in her Manthan artlce in the Hindi Hindustan on 12th October,2008,
Kaath ki Mithila, Videh Rajbansh aaur Lukathi liye log...
Though no mention of any matter of Mithila but of national scene ,She is more than right for my Mithila is today in fact turned of woods..

Part of Mauthuku Sandesh 28th issue 5000 coies and 10, 000 posters with Manikantji's slogan for Mithila state will be distributed as per my promise to Sri MD Jha. Hopefully I am getting those in train by 530 pm.

Postering for Mithila State

Yesterday was Gandhi-Shastri Divas and incidentally I had gone to Chhabilapur village near Dalsing Sarai but in Begusarai district . I cound recall advocate Suryanarayan mahto’s name but not his face when in the meeting at Dalsing Sarai hed under the presidentship of Prof. Choubey, the president of local AMP unit.
Veteran journalist Chand Musafir asked to strengthen unit of Amp, to go for Maithili songs in CDs and to organize Vidyapati parva.
And in the evening I decided to go accept the invitation of Mahtoji and was in a village where Gandhism lived still. I had in fact given a discourse more on Geeta and Bhagwat than Mithila state or seeing patients.
Incidentally, I returned to Patna this evening from Barauni taking a passenger train via Bacchwara when lei(paste made of of flour) was exhausted by pasting posters in double colour for Mithila Rajya since morning in trains kamla interercity(Darbhanga-patna), Barauni-New Delhi Vaishali, Katihat-Patna Intercity, Saharsa-Patna Intercity, Hajipur-barauni passenger, and also some posters in Awadh-Assam going to Guwahati and in Patna-Jaynagar intercity and Muzaffarpur-Sealdeh.
In fact we were only four-and I was seeing my luggage and the main work was done by Upendra Yadava, whom I know for many years as Maithili PG who received my postcard on Oct. 2 morning and reached Dalsing sarai afternoon as well as Rajiv Chaudhary ‘babbu’ and Ashokji. Dr. Deepak Chaudhary missed the train in the ,morning and when he arrived paste was over and we were boarding train to Bacchwada.
I had asked son of Bhaskarji, Bergusarai to join us at Barauni but he did not come and in fact a young man of Saharsa asked for some posters who is running Shashi sarojini rangmanch Seva sansthan at Saharsa who knew Dr. LN Jha and I gave him a bundle to delver him.
Tomorrow I will be at Muzaffarpur for a meeting and have asked Manjar suklaiman to organise one at darbhanga on 5th before I join Dr. Kam Jha on6th for kamalkant J who hjas modiofied my cyucle venture tha on 6tho a four wheeler when he too accom[panies me for 3 days whirlwind Durga ;puja jagran visit to madhubani districts jaynara- harlaklhi-saharghat Benipatti-tBrahmpura=barha- nagdah-Arer- Rahika-Madhubani- Pandaul-sakri- Ugna- Koilakh- Balha- Jaynagar where fro camp m 9th we have a workers' training camp till 12th,
The posters written by Manikantji whave reached today to every parts of Mithila though a great task- only 1000 of 10 000 printed can be pasted today. We aim for a lakh in coming 3 years.

Incidentally, I returned to Patna this evening from Barauni taking a passenger train via Bacchwara when lei(paste made of of flour) was exhausted by pasting posters in double colour for Mithila Rajya since morning in trains kamla interercity(Darbhanga-patna), Barauni-New Delhi Vaishali, Katihat-Patna Intercity, Saharsa-Patna Intercity, Hajipur-barauni passenger, and also some posters in Awadh-Assam going to Guwahati and in Patna-Jaynagar intercity and Muzaffarpur-Sealdeh.
In fact we were only four-and I was seeing my luggage and the main work was done by Upendra Yadava, whom I know for many years as Maithili PG who received my postcard on Oct. 2 morning and reached Dalsing sarai afternoon as well as Rajiv Chaudhary ‘babbu’ and Ashokji. Dr. Deepak Chaudhary missed the train in the ,morning and when he arrived paste was over and we were boarding train to Bacchwada.
I had asked son of Bhaskarji, Bergusarai to join us at Barauni but he did not come and in fact a young man of Saharsa asked for some posters who is running Shashi sarojini rangmanch Seva sansthan at Saharsa who knew Dr. LN Jha and I gave him a bundle to delver him.
Tomorrow I will be at Muzaffarpur for a meeting and have asked Manjar suklaiman to organise one at darbhanga on 5th before I join Dr. Kam Jha on6th for kamalkant J who hjas modiofied my cyucle venture tha on 6tho a four wheeler when he too accom[panies me for 3 days whirlwind Durga ;puja jagran visit to madhubani districts jaynara- harlaklhi-saharghat Benipatti-tBrahmpura=barha- nagdah-Arer- Rahika-Madhubani- Pandaul-sakri- Ugna- Koilakh- Balha- Jaynagar where fro camp m 9th we have a workers' training camp till 12th,
The posters written by Manikantji whave reached today to every parts of Mithila though a great task- only 1000 of 10 000 printed can be pasted today. We aim for a lakh in coming 3 years.
We need many workers and fund.
MD Jha should be satisfied that today a promise to him has been done partly.
Really poster is attractive- in two colours- having a sketch of all districts of Mithila and mother Janaki as well as Flage of Mithila state- a plough and a kalash on its pointed edge depicting birth of mother Janki,
People of Mithila has seen today in various parts and we are to fulfill their dreams.
I got down at Nalanda medical college for my friend's son is a student here .
I saw Vidyapati Nagar's temple from the train today only for the first time.

Yesterday was Gandhi-Shastri Divas and incidentally I had gone to Chhabilapur village near Dalsing Sarai but in Begusarai district . I cound recall advocate Suryanarayan mahto’s name but not his face when in the meeting at Dalsing Sarai hed under the presidentship of Prof. Choubey, the president of local AMP unit.
Veteran journalist Chand Musafir asked to strengthen unit of Amp, to go for Maithili songs in CDs and to organize Vidyapati parva.
And in the evening I decided to go accept the invitation of Mahtoji and was in a village where Gandhism lived still. I had in fact given a discourse more on Geeta and Bhagwat than Mithila state or seeing patients.
