Sita curcuit announced by Union Tourism Minister, Sri Subodhkant Sahay at HEC,Ranchi

Sita curcuit announced by Union Tourism Minister, Sri Subodhkant Sahay at HEC,Ranchi on 26th March 2011 in Vidyapati parva (the news was published in the Prabhat Khabar 27.3.2011 Ranchi ).

It was a joyous moment for the Maihtils all over when Sita curcuit implementation was announced by the Union Tourism Minister, Sri Subodhkant Sahay at HEC,Ranchi at Vidyapati Parva by the Maithili Parishad no sooner I demanded during my speech congratulating him for the Ranchi-Jaynagar express train for which he was the pivotal though we had contacted several MPs.
I regretted that Govt. of Bihar and also Govt. of Jharkhand are neglecting Maithili’s cause which was included in the VIII Schedule by the Parliament unanimously to which the Minister responded that it was regretful that such a sweet language was not given due respect. He said that he was with us in the demand of Maithil’s inclusion in examinations of Jharkhand.
He demanded from me a blue print of the Sita Circuit which we will provide him soon. I thanked the Minister that he could take up the point I have been raising since 2 decades. Even the Bihar Divas’s full page advertisement had no mention of any significant place of tourism of Mithila.
In Jharkhand hanuman was said to be born at Gunla’s Anjan which need linked(via Rajrappa, Simariaghat) to Mithila where Bhakt Prahlad was born and Holi festival started from Sikligarh Dharhara(near Banmanakhi in Purnea).

(Sita cuircuit will have places like Sitamarhi Purauradham the birth place of Mata seta, Phulhar (Pushpwatika) Ahalyasthan, Gautamkund, Jankapurdham, Bisaul of Vishwamitra, balmikinagar of Champaran, Hahirharnath (Hajipur), Jagwan(Yajyavalkya’s sthan, Kalna(Kalyaneshwar) and also Ucchaitha, Kapileshwar (Sankyapraneta), Saurath, Ugna, Samau l(Vachaspati II), Thardh (VachaspatiI) , Bindeshwar, Koilakh, Balirajgarh, Rajnagar, madhubani, Darbhanga, Karian, Vidyapatinagar, Jaimangalagrah, vaini,(Oini),Kusheshwar, Simariaghat, Katyananisthan, Mahishi, Singheswar, Varahkshetra , Vaishali and Laurinanadangarh will be connected.
Further Vikramshila, Munger’s Vhandisthan, baunsi’s Mandarhill, to Basukinath, Sultanganj etc, come in my mind( PLEASE SUGGEST and ADD Places)

It will be grand project and if completed will change the toursisn scenario of the country(with Jankpur- Kathmandu- also.

The minister announced that he had already earmarked a huge amount for tourism and Sita circuit will be a part of that. He humbly said that he was ‘Subodh’ for HEC and be treated like that which was applauded by the audience. He could recognize many labour leaders in the audience.

Pointing to the CMD, HEC he said that Maithils are very knowledgeable persons who propose for any demand in a way that is very amicable and is ‘undeniable.’

Commenting on my point that the Ranchi was known to us in our childhood(1960s) for the HEC in which many of our Maithils from top to bottom had dedicated their sweats and we wish that was again glorious with his help ( in fact it could largely could get a fresh lease of life due to Subodhkantji which Hruishikesh Choudhary and Dr. Madan Jha had already pointed out in welcome addresses), the Minister rightly remarked that even for the MECON he had done his best, knowing that I was in the MECON, by the sides of HEC.

Turning to Shri GK Pillai, I narrated some of my experiences with the Kerala( of Mithila Motel on Allapurrah- Trissure Highway) (on 12.8.1994) and ( had snacks in the evening of 13.8.1994 ) at Mithila Hotel when the hotel boy could not understand in English or Hindu why the Hotel was so named and had said ,Sir. Mithilapuri! Mithilapuri!!
There the Mithila Hotel was situated at the north-east of the famous Vadakkanathan Temple(where parents of Adi Shankaracharya had tapasya and was asked by Lord Shankar that he will sent someone as their son who would live 100 years or come himself for a short life which parents liked and thus Shankarachaya was born!
I demanded from the CMD, HEC that he allots one space for the office of Mithila Parishad so that our cultural activities are properly coordinated.

Accepting our requests he stayed till first item, dramatized version of ‘Gausaunik geet’ by Mahakavi Vidyapati was completed.
He rightly had said in his speech that Vidyapati had a pen in one hand and sword to defend motherland in the other which was so rare.
I promised him to send him the English version of Jai Jai Bhairabi. He gave me his card on which surely I am to send some of my writings about Kerala to which I have been connected intimately.
The cultural programme continued till 0000 hours by the artists from Tarang, Jamshedpur which needs separate elaboration, needless to say that three non_Maithil girls fared well in Maithili drama and lyrics- Runi pandey,Sapana..and ..
Mithilesh Jha was the anchor for the cultural section while manish Arvinf , a writer, and IIFS did so for the inaugural session. Jayant Jha , a prodigal son of the HEC colony was there with his aged father. Atmeshwar Jha edited souvenir.
Mrs. Madan Jha was very cordial me and I recalled my chat vrat night stay at their house and paran there after arghya some years back.

I feel HEC where Maithils are organized since 1964, maybe irregully had been conducting Vidaypati and other parva despite strains in the lives of the HEC itself. I tried my best to spare time with them in small meetings to have organization and function and really it was a fine tribute to my labour and if Sita Cuircuit comes on I will be the happiest person(and truly I too have not gone there though had been to Ayodhya which the Hon’ble Minhister had pointed because Punauragarh was not properly publicized and it took me several decades to know that though I had been to Sitamarhi in 1970s and 1980s. Now not only a circuit map I will try to make with inputs will visit there too which will be credited to HEC Maithils only.

Mithila New Year 1 baisakh(Mesh sankranti- i.e. April 14 be New Year for all over India and Nepal

Mithila New Year 1 baisakh(Mesh sankranti- i.e. April 14 be New Year for all over India and Nepal

Mithila Panchang should be from Mithila Navvrsha(14 April i.e. 1 Baishak to 13 April next)
All Maithil organisations are requested to publish calendars, as above datesw as per our tradition and culture.

We want to start a tradition of Panchang Pujan from 14.4.2012 onwards every year (and that such function is not possible in Savan's rains).. and that will be our reply to Govt. sponsored Bihar Day..which has no traditional footing_ govy. circulars may create states but if not enshrined in traditions those will not go long..
We will get our state of Mithila soon. and so Mithila Divas need celebrated everywhere at household level..
Celebrate and clean ponds (mud slugging) to prevent floods by accommodation more water in 60000 odd ponds of Mithila which is the only way to prevent colossal damage we are having because we have left our tradition..
Ponds can be cleaned in Baishakh only when the water level is lowest..
Have plantation that time- Chaitk gacchi is famous as per dak..
(Chaitk gachhi, maghk pathi)..

Mithila Divas(Mesh sankranti) April 14 is as per Soalr calendar and will fall every year on pril 14th which we have designated as Mithila Divas.
Have programmes, greetings and SMS on that day only.
Incidentally also day for Hanumat Dhwaj Danam(what a coincidence! we have already been Mithila Flag Hoisting on this day), Salhesh jayanti, Aryabhatta Jayanti, Ambedkar Jayanti, and is a demand of holiday also on that account,; it is Biashakhi in north-west India, Poila Baishakh -eve in Bengal, Bihu in Assam, so new year day of Tamilnadu and Kerala..Nepal's new year is 14th April and over all for the majority of Hindus it is New Year.

Chitra shukla 1. Varsh pratipada is celebrated traditionally in Mahahrashtra and as Yugadi (Ugadi in Karnataka and Andhra only so they should better follow majority tradition of 1st baishakh

Dr.H.R.Nagendra, a scientist and rishi spoke on 'Yogic treatment of diabetes'

Dr.H.R.Nagendra, a scientist and rishi spoke on 'Yogic treatment of diabetes'

at Ranchi 23rd March 2011

I had listened to Dr. Nagendra way back in 1991 at Mysore in the National Conference of the National medicos Organisation organized by Dr. Sanjay Kelkar, MD and when I reminded him in the Ranchi Chamber’s Hall he recollected.

I had faint memory rather no memory what he had talked there but certainly in past 20 years as a scientist he has grown of international level in the field of Yoga and Ayurveda also as he was acclaimed in the field of engineering and had worked at NASA before the love to our own spiritual sciences attracted him to Vivekananda Rock memorial, the founder of which Eknath Ranade was a master man-maker who had once said ‘placing brick upon brick’ was not his work. True he was a mason of national building and had guided many Nagendras on his foot but of course Dr. Nagendra was an excellent gem polished by the great organizer.

Dr,nagendra is vice chancellor of Swami Vuvekananda Yoga Sansthan, 19, Gavipuram Circle, Kempegowdanagar, Bangalore 560019 Tel. 080-28916384 web. www.vyasa.org

The meeting was inaugurated by Swami madhwanand of the Chinmay Mission and he himself is a great disciple of HH swami Chinmayananda.

What a coincidence that I was called by Swami Madhwanand in a meeting where some of my erstwhile RSS doctors were also present. Listening to Nagendra the edotor of Prabhat khabar , Harivanshji, a socialist of repute was also present.

Though Dr.Nagendra had come on a mission of No Diabetes in India to have some fund from the Ranchi philanthropists to get a matching grant from the AYUSH project of GOI, Dr. Nagendra dealt with in details the basics of the Yoga and allied spiritual system of India for which India is known worldwide.

Dr. Nagendra’s presentation was lucind and probably he was the first to have scientific papers in reputed national and international medical journals for the efficacy of Yoga in various diseases like bronchial asthma. Hypertension, diabetes etc. and as he pointed out these worked through removing stress from the person.

Ayurveda and Yoga deals with correcting Adhi, the root instead.

As a physician I will not fo in the various experiments and analysis he had projected but as a human being and as an Indian I feel we all should be proud of what Dr. Nagendra had done and is pursuing as a true scientist.

When our heritage is presented in the paraphernalia of western scientific modules it would get recognition.

And that is being done by Dr.Nagendra and incidentally his sister Dr. Nagarathna is also a doctor in fact an MRCP and their research amd treatment can hardly be challenged which otherwise doctors would have objected to an engineer.

In fact when several discipline merges a novel synthesis is churned out.And that we want to see ultimately.

I am personally a scientific person to the core and when I was listening to audio visual presentation of Anndmaya Kosa, Vijnamaya Kosa, Manomaya osa, Pranmaya Kosa and Annamaya kosha, I had an imagination of the s. p. d, f orbits of an electron well compared to the cosmic hue of such kosas around our physical bodies..

My friend Dr, Shantiprakash had purchased two books by him – Yoga and Memory and New perspective in Stress Management and I was turning pages of those this morning.

I must say that even if many of us do not agree with him at this juncture there are many new vists he had opened as a true scientist to unravel the marvels of our Hindu spirituality and in fact he himself is a true representative of those ancient rishis who had delved the Upanishads which he quoted so frequently.

Our ancient doctors Charak and Shushrita were sheers par excellence and so they are adjudged as great human mind till now. Dr. Nagendra is in their footstep.

I asked him about his project whether it would also study ‘thrifty genes’ responsible for south east Asian pandemic of diabetes to which he replied affirmatively. In fact while reviewing literature for my MD thesis on diabetes I had read in a very old Ayurvedic book of my father (published in 1929) there were 20 types of Pramehas-lalmeh, vasmeh, majjameha etc. and a clear distinction was in between two types of urines(one of diabetes insipidus we know now and the other of diabetes mellitus, popularly known as diabetes for which Dr. Nagendra ‘s project work would be..In fact Ayurveda has also decribed

Jath prameho madhmehino va.. beejdoshat..

Those who had diabetes their offspring do get it ,,due to the faults in ‘seeds’(read ‘gene’ in modern time),

I later told Dr.Shatiprakash that though as a scientist, his work will have tremendous value from the point of philanthropy, diabetes is a diese of affluents, a life style disorder.

Rightly commented Dr.Suresh K.Agrawala, MS who has devoted himself to the Ayurvedic herbs and treatment rather knifes that at least Yoga reduces tension and related hyperglycemic surge.

I am a son of an ayurvedic physician but I did not dwell in their path which nagendra and Nagrathna and Suresh did but I pray they achieve the results which may signify the wisdom of our ancient seers once more on the scientific platteur and will be a matter of national pride for all of us.

Maithils celebrate Mithila Divas on April 14(Mesh Sankranti),our new year day, not Bihar Divas which is devoid of Mithila's true grandeure...

This morning when I turned up the pages of the Prabhat Khabar at Ranchi was not surprised to find a full page Bihar Day advertisement in colours which could not find a place of tourism from core Mithila region in Bihar (though named Patna, Bodhgaya, alanda,Rajgir, Keshariya, Pawapuri, Biharsharif, Vaishali, Vikramshila, Sasaram, Manersharif etc as main spots),,

Among pictures too , I could recognise only a Madhubani painting and Lichi of Muzaffarpur...

Congratulations to Bihar CM & his affiliates to find out a Bihar Day to counter Mithila agitation which will only augment by such presentation of day (even if economic exploitation of Mithila is left for the present)...they could have spent such huge amout in the real development work which they boast than mesmerizing people with glamour and advertisements which has failed to attract any substantial FDIs or raising the life standard(even today Bihar ranks the lowest in per capita income(Lok Sabha 23.2.2011 as it was informed In 2009-10 nationally it was 46,492 (despite many Rajas and Radias) while the lowest for Nitishes Shining Bihar 16,119 (even Jharkhand was better with 30,719 , (despite Koda..),

Nitish (with ally BJP which fared better, could get only 40% votes (of 52% polled) i.e. more people(60%) voted against…

Yet, to those who call themselves Bihari let me offer my best wishes but I would have been glad to wish them as a Bhojpui or a Magahi in their traditional fervour.

Personally, I do not want to be called a ‘Bihari’ because I realized much later in my life that I was not a Bihari but was born in such a state which was made not by cutting out of Bengal in 1912 but in 1326 by the foreign invader Giyasuddin Tugalque.

George Grierson had tried by hypothesizing a langauge named Bihari (with Maithili, Magahi and Bhojpuri as its dialects) which could not find a place in the linguistics in 100 years...in 800 years Mithila could not be assimilated in Bihar..if not by 1912 certainly much before 1926 Mithila will be a separate state..

Govt. funded festivals cannot take place of community festivals and so Mihtila Day will be gradually accepted in all Mithila houses..(in Mithila or out wherever Maithils are)..

Yesterday I was reading a chapter from Bhariya Sanskiti's Vangmay(a publication from UP) which has in its pages of Mithila Mahatmya has written

"Mithila ne sab pranton se jyada Bhartiya adhtmvad ko viksit kiya hai....

Yahanke paramparagat Bhartiy Vidyayon ke vidwano ki aaj tak ki soochi hi taiyar ho to ek achhi-khasi pustak ban jay..

Among its grand contributions-

Vishwamitra's Gayatri

Valmiki's Ramyan

Awatar of Seeta

52 Jankss who were 'Atmvetta'

Three grand offerings of Mithila-

a.Even non-Brahmins can be Gurus ( not only janak but also a prostitute Pingla who became one of the 24 Gurus of Dattatreya

b. Even in Grihasthashram one may get Mukti by doing his/her Karma

c.Females-scholars in Brahmvidaya eg. Maitreyee, Gargi

The Govt. of Bihar has failed in past 100 years to develop Mithila region and hence , Mithila’s statehood as a state in India is only solution for the generations to come.

Maithils should celebrate Mithila Divas on April 14 (Mesh sankranti) which is traditionally the NEW YEAR DAY of Mithila..

Why to do social work

Why to do social work

On March 14th evening a patient came to me whom I was knowing a PUCL activist and we discussed many things. With me was a guest from Kanpur, an ex-commandant in CRPF and now perusing some job in handloom sector and is also working for the Antarrashtriya maithili parishad.
I conveyed them my experience with the little Asansol girl who wished to work for the poor to which the PUCL activist said unless political education a child cannot work for the society.
My own view is that politics can never train one for social work though in a democratic country every work is political however let the meaning of 'political' be restricted to 'partisan politics,' particularly if one is pursuing for his/her own gain that in other word will mean 'political education' of a community or a region or nation is not 'political work' if it is intending to empowerment of a group and in the same token if one worked for any underprivileged group or area(like for Mithila I have been working since 1992 despite a being a national level work of the RSS school) is in fact a national work because such areas are responsible for lower development indices of the nation and or humanity as a whole and hence, such work are also altruistic in nature and if you are a believer, it is a 'divine work.'

I feel one should work for the society without thinking anything in return though gradually one gets name and fame out of that. A social worker should never mix his financial aim with such work and should not be in haste. Means are as important as goals.
I remarked to that fellow that I do not believe there was anything like ‘Gandhism’ (is any thing like’Ambedkarism’ rather they were the Hindu thought which is essentially a ‘human thought’ nonetheless Hindus were subjected to all sorts of terror and hence, Lord ram’s ‘Agratah sakalam Shastram, Prishtah Sasharam dhanuh( having all scriptures in front one should have bows with arrow on the back) as I was written in the insignia of the Bihar School examination Board which I had passed in 1970.

Asansol- my first Maithili meeting on 13.3.2011

Asansol- my first Maithili meeting on 13.3.2011

At Asansol, my first Maithili meeting on 13.3.2011 was incidental.

After the dharna on 11.3.2011 in the evening when I had contacted Usha Jha, she told me that she would not be present at Deoghar for my meeting as she was to go Asansol on which I told her that too would reach there on Sunday (as In between I had tried to contact Dumka but could not get any link) to have my time utilized with a group of workers who used to have Vidaypati parva and from their calendar I had some addresses noted in my old diary but the numbers were again non-responsive.
Usha Jha had said that I should ring from Seetarampur and she will send a car but thought to have some contact before I reach there so that some Maithils may be given prior information.

On 11th evening there was a marriage ceremony of an old RSS worker’s son. I am in contact with him since my pre-medical days of 1973-74; the invitation of which too I had accepted conditionally, if I do not go outside and accordingly I reached his house in due time but barati was late and after one hour I left for my house and after dinner went station to catch train.
In the course of review of the dharna, Dr.Ashok Abichal of Jamshedpur asked me to contact Arun Jha, the painter of Vidaypati calander who was also present in dharna. His brother in -law Pashupati Jha, of TISCO. presently at Anand could be contacted and finally a number of Asansol,of his cousin and address was provided to me and I received Lalji’s welcome call.
I had been to Asansol many times in the past and recently in 2008 and 2010 (during MECON Executive Association’s election) and in 2009 in way to Bankura Medical college for my nephew’s admission there but had no meeting either with Maithils or with doctors despite having RSS office’s address for that purpose.
After my Deoghar’s meeting on 12th march, I took Asansol passenger and had a cosy travel. When a teacher from Deoghar asked me some suggestions for his adrenal carcinoma ,I advised him for life planning as it had already metastasis in paracolic gutters. The person sitting besides me was an ayurvedic doctor later interrupted me that ayurveda had its remedy to which I remarked that till there was an common system at some level referral to other system by doctors was not possible and ayurveda needs to go scientific trials of modern medicine if it was to establish.

Soon I reached Asansol and seeing Tillottama railway engine of narrow guaze I had mentioned in my blog on Burnpur on 24th June 2010 ,I took a bus for bus stand and then walked Ramdhani More on Hatan road the address of AM jha’s house 278, Hatan Road I already had in my diary with landline no. 2203650 which changed in this mobile age. Lal son of AM jha and cousin of Pashupati Jha was waiting eagerly for me with Sunil K Mishra, an engineer whop turned out to be nephew of Prof. Chandrakant Mishra of Darbhanga, former, sanghchalak of RSS there and presently patron of Antarrashtriy Maithili parishad (AMP) there. We talked a lot on many topics related to Mithila and nation. There some functions were held by local organization but it was many years back. I told them to work afresh for a unit of Antarrashtriy Maithili Parishad (AMP) there which in any case was needed to give a united voice of Maithils and a meeting next afternoon 230 was decided.

I stayed at the same place where Lalji’s residence was on the upstairs of his hardware shop.
During a heavy delicious meal prepared and served by his wife whose brother was a principal in my ex- in-law’s school we watched TV discussing India’s defeat in the World Cup. Next morning was late for me and around 8 am I could woke aup and then dialy rituals.
I was surprised to listen their little daughter’s ambition in life,’Ham garib ke seva karab, minister nahee bab. Hamra schoolme bahut anath baccha chhi jakar mai nahi chhai, okar kapara ganda rahit chi, ham okra kahno apan ek rupaya du rupaya d dait chhi je hamra mamy dene ray hai,,,”
( I want to serve poor, not like to be a minister. There are many orphans in my school whose mummies are not to wash their cloths. I use to give Rs.1 or 2 which my mummy gives to me).

That baby informed me that she knew Bengla and Maithili and also Hindi an do not much English. This polyglot child will learn English more easily than any Maithili-baiter parents who think ‘Enliglish is pill to every ill.’

I had again chura-dahi and I slept seeing view of nearby road which in the noon closes fro lunch (and also to avoid extreme temperature in summer).
Around 230 we started for Sunil Nishra’s residence on a rickshaw though it was close. Soon assembled few Maithils and I discussed the history of Maithili movement which lost sight of Mithila and was bereft of high ideals.
Mithila-Maithilil and Maithili are intertwined but have some specifications each of them. Bipin Shandilya of Kalikapur has done in depth study of gotras but I had not much time left in my train for Ranchi which under the Naxal Bundh threat I wished to catch anyhow).
ANIL Mishra of mangrauni also joined and he was a RSS devotee and hence some time I took with my past association and working there though since 2002 they had left me and since 2007 I too but not have left the planks of nationalism under which Maithils are a part of great Hindu panoraoma and our demand for Mithila state was in no way subversive to nationalis rather it was fully nationality promoting, I explained.
The train was at 17.16 and so I curtailed my talk and Bipinji was given charge to organize Antarrashtriya Maithili Prishad(AMP) there. Sunilji came to see off me but after going to platform I found my train was almost 2 hours late.
I reached Ranchi in midnight and saw Gangadharan, a computer engineer also coming from the same train from Howrah who could get it because it was late there. He gave me lift till my house and had a sound sleep after I glanced newspapers and had news on TV.

On Baba’s call at Deoghar_12.3.2011

On Baba’s call at Deoghar_12.3.2011

Deoghar or Baidhyanathdham or Babadham as popularly called by us, the Maithils, is our most important pilgrim centre or at least equally important as the Janakpurdham and allied places like Punaura, Seetamarhi, Phulhar or Pushpvatika (since Lord Shiva is also a devotee of Lord ram and hence, Mother Seeta).
I have my first journey memory of childhood of Deoghar when hardly 6 or 7 years , I had gone there with my parents via Sultanganj(where maternal uncle of my mother, Parmeshwar Jha of Bangaon, Saharsa was the manager of the Estate)..then Ajgaininath was in the middle of river Ganga and had a shrub of pomegranate(Darim) which I saw sometimes back also though Ganga is filled with sand and that temple was near the road not in the middle,
While returning from Babadham (via ASANSOL) on 13th night, I read in a magazine the Senior India that one can go to Badham only when Baba wants and the wish of individual is fulfilled(I wished there first for Mithila state though afterwards many for me personally and or familial and if only one is to be given let the first asked be granted by Him!).
Still I had many visits to Deoghar and also darshan of Baba, except a few when I could not halt to go somewhere for meetings or to catch train at Jasidih comi9ng from somewhere of the region in past as in the chart:

1960s sometime Deoghar Mithila Pilgrimage With parents
20.6.1998 Deoghar Mithila Personal
24.11.1998 Deoghar Mithila AMP met Yogkar Jha; Usha Jha, Parmeshwar Jha at Castor town
24.11.1998 Deoghar Mithila Familial
11.6.1999 Deoghar Mithila Pilgrimage
28.6.2003 Deoghar Mithila AMP meeting
28.6.2003 Deoghar Mithila NMO Gopal Barnwal met
24.8..2003 Deoghar Mithila Pilgrimage Babak darshan
24.8..2003 Deoghar Mithila AMP Atate meeting
25.10.2004 Deoghar Mithila Pilgrimage Pradosh Shringar of Baba seen
5.2.2006 Deoghar Mithila AMP Meeting OPMishra dera
5.2.2006 Deoghar Mithila AMP Satyendrababuk shraddhabhoj
16.10.2006 Deoghar Mithila AMP Baisar OPMishra dera-Tata danapur train me Santosh Jha, saharsa recognised
6.9.2009 Deoghar Mithila AMP D. Jha dera baisar
23.1.2010 Deoghar Mithila AMP
23.1.2010 Deoghar Mithila Pilgrimage

This time visit was quite incidental. In fact , around 3 months back, I had given time to Kripashankar Singh of Akhil Bhartiya Vanvasi Kalyan Kendra, Jashur(Chhatisgarh) for a medical camp but he did not contact me. In the meantime, Naveen Tiwary of Bhuli(Dhanbad) had invited me for Vidaypati Parva on 12.3.2011 which I had accepted only conditionally if I was not called by Kalyan Asharam and on 10th march I tried to contact Kripaji but could not nor my SMS was replied and finally I asked Dhirendra Jha, President, AMP, Dhanbad to have a meeting at his residence before Vidaypati Parva in the evening and when I called Navin Tiwary for exact time I was informed that the parva was postponed though my elder cousin Udaykar Thakur had already arrived there.
Then I cancelled my Dhanbad trio also and under the shadow of march 11th dharna for Maithili’s second language status, I contacted many places (Kolkata and Rahika to utilize my time and fianally my class fellows practicing at Jamui agreed for my request to call some persons who can take my points of Jamui’s inclusion in Mihtila state but SMS came on 11th morning that there was noone taker of my idea and better to avoid jamui and I thought to explore some other avenues to reach Jamui(maybe via Jhajha, only point where tow Jhas are agreed! I do not want to work for Mithila via my caste men but no way out!) . Still the matter to utilize holidays was before. Ime is so important a thing in our limited life!
I remembered Dr. Vijayshankar, a Sanskrit teacher from Sarath’s Bhavangama who was a journey friend in the Vanachal Express on 26.1.2009 when my sister had told his wife not to worry for her little children’s ill health as a pediatrician(me) was traveling with them.
He had later met me at Ranchi also and we were in contact and on 6.9.2009 we had an AMP meeting at Bamangama, near Madhupur, on the southern tip of George Grierson’s linguistic map where I was surprised to know that in nearby SWijhulia school several decades back, Jai, Jai Bhairavi, Asurbhayauni, a Maithili prayer of the Goddess was observed daily.
Mithila’s boundary is receding like that of India’s!

In fact in the intervening years Dr. Vijayshakar has shifted from there to Deoghar and I had suggested for a Mithila conference on 21.2.2010 which I had to cancel for accepting the request of Mithila Parishad, Bhagalpur where I had to walk out when was objected to distribute Mithila pamphlets(and was not in the guest list with Mrs Gyan Sudha Mishra, the Hon’ble Chief Justice of Jharkjand High court, an embodiment of Mithila pride who later elevated as a Justice in the Supreme Court). Probably the organizers were afraid of my speech demanding Mithila state in India which in no way is anti-national and anti-constitutional as our constitution has given us freedom of speech and rights to put our views and India being a Union of States, demand for one or other state be perceived only in that light. I knew otherwise a couple of relatives of her yet I found it an insult by the organizers and had decided to walk out before proceeding started saying an organization having name on Mithila should be supporting Mithila’s demand.
That day I had lost and so continued work in that region which got a severe jolt when on 22.6.2010, Vinay Tarun, a budding journalist and Mithila worker succumbed to railway accident.

Dr. Vijayshankar had told me some months back to visit Deoghar once so that we may re-initiate the process we left on the torrential rainy day of 6.9.2010 when despite that we had a small meeting at the residence of Devendra Jha, a retired engineer. In between Dr. Vijayshankar had purchased a plot also near Devendra Jha’s house.

I informed Devendara Jha also and he was happy that I was coming the next day and had informed Parmeshwar Jha also, the doyen of Mithila worker whose wife Usha Jha was an eminent BJP worker and was also president of Jharkhand state Mahila Kalyan Board.
Despite people on Dharna, I searched my Excel sheet and took print of available numbers with me, many of those of landline were not traceable except of Devendra Jha. Some persons were outstation and one assured me that would be invited at Lalmatia especially in a such organized function. Senior worker, O.P. Mishra could not be contacted who in 2003 had organized a state conference there nor retd. IG, KG Singh on his landline.

In the morning before I reached Jasidih I contacted Dr. Vijayshankar who asked me that he would wait at R.L.Sarraf High School where his school was in morning shift and it was just opposite to the auto-stand. The Jasidih- Deoghar road was as picturesque but the Dodhwa river was like a drain ( some water only).

I went into the school’s teachers room and had a chit-chat with school teachers for a while. I drew their attention to a wrong -painting of Shreemati as “mati (to save paint) and also genesis of Shreemati and here and many things. I recalled my school teachers , good and bad whom I had described in my autobiography . I wished to have a health talk with school students which was arranged promptly. Ome students were good in knowledge and I tried to be of their level. Teachers also attended whom I advised to look for refractive error like thing and advised to have Snellen Chart and a weighing machine(to overcome junk food related overweight). I asked boys to have their nails chopped up periodically hands washed with soap. I advised for sources od vitamins and importance of vaccination, etc.

Then I came to Vijayshankar’s house and after my bath went for darshan of Baba Baidyanath. My nephew Krishanakar, a computer teacher joined me. The temple had devotees despite approaching noon. The previous night dozens of marriages were held there.
I had a glimpse of Baba’s manokamna lingam and we returned back without visiting some 20+ temples there.
Despite the knock of spring it was like summer- a change in nature.
I preferred chura dahi and then with Dr. Vijayshankar started for castor Town for Parmeshwar Jha’s residence for the meeting but had urgent urge of defaecation and went to a sulabh latrine there which was not so well.
Saeching parmeshwar ha’s residence was a tedious task in the summer like noon but we could locate that asking many houses. I had been there many years back. Devendra Jha soon came and we had a small meeting and a decision to hold a a sammelan of AMP at Deoghar on 3rd July was taken with convenors Dr. Vijayshankar 9431943949 and Krishanakar thakur 9304949536. Dr. Vijayshankar went to give release to press and Krishankar bade me in the Asansol passenger train which was also an incidental journey for me to have my first meeting there though I had many times crossed the city.

Govindacharya – a ‘DHOOMKETU’ of Indian politics

Govindacharya – a ‘DHOOMKETU’ of Indian politics

It is interesting to note that my senior friend Govindacharya had visited Ambitabh and Nutan before I could (though promised them, I sensed in late evening better to be guest of my other friend’s daughter’s residence on 6th Nov.2010 night when she promised that they will join my meeting near Terhi Pulia next morning which they could not) though I knew them from exchange of mails, I am not a celebrity that anyone would be excited to meet me expectedly or otherwise.

Yesterday I had written some paragraphs on Govindacharya but message was lost during ’send,’however I had read only his duping of police not this mail of Amitabh and it would be incomprehensible to may that why it is in our (the RSS trained workers) to meet anyone (from amongst everyone) and particularly Govindacharya had a fancy to search for talented youth (who could be useful to change the destiny of nation) from his pracharak days at Patna during 1970s when I came in his personal contact in 1970 but he still holds this merit is a matter of praise,

The unexpected visit of Govindacharya excited Amitabh, a brilliant student of IITk (who probably spoiled his genius by joining IPS, as I had long back in 1985 had said to Anant, IAS of UP cadre when he had come to my hospital ward for blessings after being selected in IAS, after IRTS). I knew very few IAS/IPS one of them was late Abhash K Chatterjee who had once told me IAS means,” I Agree Sir. I respected him not only because he was topper of Bihar School Examination Board as well as in the IAS but also as he had devoted his life with struggle to pursue honesty and to help the poor tribal(he had married a lady from tribal Palamu also whom I meet and talk often since his death , also because she is pursuing the social work as much she can).
Somehow I was not rewarded by meeting such seniors or talented students. I recall I had gone twice or thrice to meet son of my principal who was a topper in Netarhat School and third in Bihar Board(my principal and his father too were toppers of the board) and had asked him to work in the field of medicine itself, if he was not much interested in the National Medicos Organisation(NMO) which could be founded by a simple medico of 22 years for which I had spoken my mind first to Govindacharya on 8.8.1977 at Darbhanga station while seeing him off when he was deputed in the ABVP by the RSS.
Several rounds of my initial discussions paved the way which was finally stamped by great visionary like Dr.Abaji Thatte himself and in fact vetoed by Bala Saheb Deoras himself when the infant NMO was about to be strangulated by some persons of myopic vision (and incidentally they were also very close to Govindacharya!).

Govindacharya is still a good friend of mine though he is some 12 years elder to me(I am born in 1955) but probably he would have joined RSS in BHU by the time I too would have started working for society at the age of 8 in a remote part of the country by selling stamps for Vivekanad Rock Memorial on the other end of the country. My father, the Sanghchalak of the small town Forbesganj on Indo-Nepal Border in Bihar, had appreciated Govindacharya’s zeal of work and intellect after seeing him in a Jan Sangh Conclave at Patna.

Today neither Govindacharya nor I am within the RSS folds though we both are pursuing the national ideals we learnt in Sangh Shakha through different ways and he had probably thus attended Mithila Dharna in 2010 on my request which he had supported long back in 1996 when he was in the capacity of the general Secretary of the ruling BJP.

Only today I could know that he had joined RSS via left and probably left that because my notion is ‘one can become a true swayamsevak only if he had attended shakha in his schooldays.”

He was elevated to higher strides by the RSS but he could not be assimilated or he could not absorb the undercurrent there where age and seniority is given much value than the sharpness of thoughts which as a Hindu we Sanatanis have accepted to have ‘equanimity’ among equal opposites.

At times I feel tired at 55 he must be so in 67 but we continue to work because Govind in His Geeta says,” He does not require to work but He works so that others not leave working,”
Whether Govindacharya has left RSS or not, I do not know but I had to under the circumstances though I have not left nationalism which to me is a shade of humanism which in explicable way I equate to ’spiritual Marxism,’ and was delighted to know from an engineer patient of mine, ‘Sir, you Communists, will not mend the way(on my cautious remarks in BBC on David Camroon’s visit). Well , I have never been a Communist but have shared daises with Jhalanath Khalan (present PM, Nepal) in 2000 and Maoist Prachanda (then PM in 2009) on Mithila Manch and am happy that both had supported our statehood demand in Nepal’s Constituent Assembly.

I do hope in India too their counterparts do support our cause because Mithila is one of the most exploited region of the country and followers of Vajapayee should accept it as he was instrumental in Maithili’s recognistion and on the issue of Mithila, Govindacharya is also in agreement though had opposed Vajpayee;s views which resulted his opting out of Indian politics like a ‘ dhoomketu,’ which should not have been despite I did I ever subscribe his ‘social engineering,’ I feel it was a great loss to nation as a whole. In his presence on 14.1.1978, I had spoken before Prof. Rajendra Singh(the then Jt.Secy.RSS . who later became its Sarsanghchalak)-…” Ben Johnson in his poetry, ‘It is not growing like a tree,’ had felt little flower giving fragrance was better than long lived oak tree,’ and so the NMO’s work even if it was not allowed to groom,” I see the flower, Govindji, nurtured by Prof. Rajendra Singh and Bau rao Deoras like stalwarts had the fate of that flower Ben Johnson would have described but that was far better than many Rajas and Ranis twinkling on the political horizon.

After 1980s, I had few occasions to meet Govindacharya (at Agra, Madhubani and Delhi) and found him as cordial as he was in his prime days. I had talked him first during 1989 for comprehensive state reorganization plan instead of political piecemeal and he was glad in 2004 at Agra when I gave him a map of that which after years of work could be released in 1996 probably on which Marupradesh, north Karnataka and North Tamilnadu’s demands were based.

It is enchanting to note that Govindji still finds time to meet one Amitabh or other Nutan on the legacy of Eknath Ranade, the founder of Vivekanand Rock who used to say laying brick on brick was not his real work(probably he or his followers, the followers of Swami Vivekananda are in constant search of such few young who could change the destiny of nation!) .
Let such Amitabhs make Nutan-History of the nation which we could not being strapped in shackles of time!
