Sanskrit Divas 5.8.2009: Demanded Second Language status for Sanskrit in India

In a meeting on the eve of Sanskrit Day at Shyamali colony, Ranchi Antarrashtriya Maithili Parishad (AMP) has demanded second language status for Sanskrit in Jharkhand ,Bihar and all over India.

Presided over by Shri NK Jha, Executive Director I/C of the RDCIS,SAIL, Ranchi, the meeting started with chorus of Bhagwati vandana and sonorous invocation from Tattereyee Upnishad by small kids Arnav and Pranav.

Spokesman of AMP, Dr.Dhanakar Thakur said that Sanskrit has been found best language for computers. A simplified Sanskrit can be learned in five days by any Indian. Sanskrit Bharati run Sanskrit learning camps.

Among distinguished guests Leader of BJP, Suryamani Singh said had Sanskrit been declared national language there would not have been problem in adopting that as Sanskrit is mother of all Indian languages and without Sanskrit our culture is incomplete. Sanskrit is a soft language with human touch.

Chief Guest Swami Madhvananda, Acharya Chinmay Mission said that Sanskrit was lingua franca in the old days of Satyayug and Treta Yug. Even Lord Hanuman was sent by Sugreeva as a Brahmin to ascertain who two brothers were(Ram and Laxman) and listening to Vaidik Sanskrit Lord Ram had exclaimed that Hanuman was not an ordinary Brahmin. Later Hanuman had gone as a Brahmin to Bhibhishan’s house and had exchangd in Sanskrit. Sanskrit has vast treasure of knowledge. Sanskrit is very simple and it is spoken as it is written. The Grammar of Sanskrit was framed by Panini who made his lines on hands bigger by cutting with a knife when his Guru said that he could not learn Sanskrit but seeing that he said that he would learn surely.

Giving presidential speech, Shri NK Jha said that Sanskrit has origin from Lord Shva and the progress of Sanskrit has progress of all languages. He said that his late father had stressed to read Panini even when he became an engineering student so that he can be a master of language and oration which was needed in every walk of life.

Proposing vote of thanks Shri Vinay Kumar Khan, ex-Suptd. Engineer and president AMP, Ranchi said that Sanskrit is mother of Maithili and hence Maithils should must know the grandmother language of theirs. He said that they will endeavour their best for development of Sanskrit.

Programme was conducted in Sanskrit by Akshywatnath Tiwary and most of the speech and programme was held in Sanskrit.

In the end Prasad was distributed.
