Mandir Manthan-Udyog Manthan should not be mixed with Jayantis of poets and that too without any logic

Mandir Manthan-Udyog Manthan should not be mixed with Jayantis of poets and that too without any logic

On 30th March night I phoned Hyderabad just to know the well being of our Maithils as on 29th night I had listened to on the BBC about a communal riot there. It was informed by Karnaji that all Maithils were right.
However,he added about his programme at Uchhaitha Sthan on 25th June 2010 and probably wanted me to be there which I declined for requiring leaves of many days as it was on a working day. He told me that it was put on that weekday for Mahakavi Yatri’s birthday which they will celebrate there- to mark centenary. I said that despite their good intention it would send wrong signals.
While Mahakavi Kalidas’s association is with Uchhaith it should be popularized with his name only otherwise it would create confusion. He was insistant(in 19 minutes plus 48 minutes talk) on that and with contradictory statements- they wanted to make Madir Manthan and Udyog Manthan as focuss(Mandir related industry to be precise). I felt for that Vishwakarma Divas(Sept.17) would have been ideal rather than choosing a warm, humid day in a marriage season.
And then if you wish to have Kali das’s Jayanti it maybe there on that particular day in October(a day before Devotthan Ekadash i.e.; three days before Vidyapati Smriti Divas ).

The problem is that people want to mix the things for their own busy schedule.
I feel Yatriji’s centenary should be started from his native place Tarauni as or or working place Darbhanga, Patna, Kolkata, Delhi and so on but not from the deeh of Kalidas as it will give wrong signals particularly when bith great poets were diametrically opposite in their thoughts.

Mair related Udyog Manthan too needs a afresh change- one should pick up the ignored temples which are a lot in Mithila rather converging the resources on a well-known one which should be left to be improved by local people who are even otherwise capable of. Of course those who belong to a particular place should select one in their nativity and watch follow up.
Anyway I remembered a survey by Karna sometimes back putting a majority of maithils in a ‘difficult’ group who were probably called ‘confused and making other confused.I wish he is not one among them and would pick up problem item-wise and not a mixed bag .

Ramnavami 2067(24.3.2010) with Maithil motias at Mithila Hanuman Mandir, Ranchi; Flag of Hanuman we carried as if serving the servant of Ram is more

Ramnavami 2067(24.3.2010) with Maithil motias at Mithila Hanuman Mandir, Ranchi; Flag of Hanuman we carried as if serving the servant of Ram is more than sufficient for Moksha.

Lord Ram is a character ideal in all aspects and simple people like our illiterate motias I narrated some times back are in themselves Hanumans who had made His temple and every year they carry Hanumani Flag and also bag first position.

This year I was a party to that and I remained all through with them with the saubhagya Mithila TV team at Mithila hanuman Mandir, the banners they had made once they accepted my suggestion of this name.

Ashish and Kislay interviewed labourers of Mithila working at Ranchi and the whole hamlet was in an enthusiasm unparallel. I had been to ranchi’s ramnavami procession in 1973 when I was a Ranchi college student and had come with a stick long way from Upper Bazar to Tapovan sthal where all flags do come and are surrendered before Ram’s Mandir at Tapovan, near over bridge of Railway. Then too I had seen stalls of dharmpremis with water, chana, , sharbat welcoming the bearers of flags. In 2005 I had on behalf of Antarrashtriya Maithili Parishad had distributed chana and gur but this time in the scorching sun and premature heat(that too in once Summer capital of Hilli Ranchi) I was with the Hanumani flag just to booster the moral of our motias from Mithila.

One boy Pankaj from Balha village was invited that day by my sister for Brahman bhojan. I asked him to be with me and he remained so all along. First we went to Mrs. Abhas Chatterjee’s residence with pua and halua my sister had made for her who is a lonely widow having lost his only brilliant son before her IAS husband who had topped in Bihar’s 1957 SSC and then in 1962 IAS in all over India,an eponym of honesty, late Chaterjee was a great Hindu nationalist. His wife informed me that he used to purchase and decorate Hanumani flag from one or two days before the Ramnavami. In Jharkhand, Hanuman was said to born at Anjan village near Gumla’s Toto where I had been in 1980s with medical team of the NMO. It is also said that Oraon is from ‘He Ram’.

Pankaj and I walked 1 km from Mrs. Chatterjee’s house to the Mithila Hanuman Mandir where we were welcomed and the motias tighted a turban on my head with love and honour which I kept till I returned Pankaj’s uncle’s house in late evening.

The TV crew took their interview and also of mine and I asked from the administration the supply of safe water and other amenities required by those poor.

They offered me Prasad in Mithila’s style- sukha Prasad which was tasty sue to batasa in that.

Then the flag was made high- it was on a bamboo of 51 feet and flags’ corner went till 201 feet and the area in between was huge. I put my hand near the bottom. All motias were in divine spirit. Then they went for a march to Amrawati colony and then near Kali mandir there at two places they unfurled the flag with honour and pride.

Then we made a circle from south of station to again vai Mithila hanuman mandir to overbridge and finally Tapowan mandir. Not only our flag was the highest ,it was widest in area till one higher came but with much less area. Everywhere Mithila hanuman Mandir was echoed and we all were there with pride. Soon came another high but small area’s flag on the support of a Daha(Tajia) like structure which I read in newspaper next day that in fact that was a replica of Madurai’s Meenakshi temple.

People were there like ants in the congested field made more congested by thelas of food matter in that mela and Jayghosh of Ram,Mata seta and Hanuman was all over in the air. I felt tiered and after sometime we left for our house on foot.

In fact for this Ramnavami (on 24th March 2010) I was invited long back by Rammohan Jha. A senior Maithili worker for attending a function at Baneshwaristhan near Manigachhi in Darbhanga but I had to ask an apology from him for two reasons first the Maithili camps at Madhepur, Phulparas,Biraul could not take a final shape both due to workers’ reluctance and then Kamalkantji’s book release at Patna on 28th which too could not be held and I was not willing to spare two days’ CL for a single programme and that too my colleague lady doctor went to Malayasia with her family for the LLTC and hence it would had been difficult to manage. Few days back when I asked Rammohanji he informed that his function was also postponed. Surely Ramnavami could not be postponed and it must have been there too at Baneshwari and all over where ever Hindus are in religious fervour.

The beauty of the Ramnavami is that flag of Hanuman we carry as if serving the servant of Ram is more than sufficient for Moksha. Maybe Lord is pleased to His Hanuman is feeling spirit of valour in all His children.

Coincidences-Banka 27.3.2010,Bhagalpur-27.3.2010,Godda 28.3.2010

A Sanskrit scholar, Dr. Bibhakar from Deoghar had requested me to release his Maithili book at Deoghar on 28th March 2010. He was impressed with me because on his Sanskrit book I had sent comments in Sanskrit verses which he had published with some corrections. Though I did not feel myself a proper person to release the book of that retired professor he insisted for that and had sent me a copy of the book in advance and I had also booked my tickets to and from Jasidih. To utilize my time better I requested Dr. Vijayshankar Singh of Bamangama(who was once a cotraveller in train and an unknown person who had arranged a meeting of the Antarrashtriya Maithili Parishad(AMP) on 6.9.2010) near Madhupur to arrange the postponed meeting of 21st February at his place on 27th march and he had agreed.

Some days back Prof. Bibhakar informed me that he had to go to his native place Madhura near Jhanjharpur and hence he was postponing the release of book. Since my other programme was fixed I made my mind to go Bamangama on 27th as per schedule and to seek for Dumka or Godda on 28th but the examination of students on ramnavami day was again postponed to 27th and that meeting was again to be postponed (to April10th).

I could have cancelled the ticket but already I had cancelled my schedules for those holidays for Madhepur, Phulparas, Biraul camps from March 24-28th as Dr. kamlakant Jha,President.AMP had to got o Patna to get his own book released on March 28th( that was also postponed for the publisher Shardinduji was ill).

I talked Prof. Ugra Mohan Jha and Mahesh Jha of Bhagalpur about use of march 27th for foundation meeting of AMP there as I have been feeling that without a proper unit of the AMP at Bhagalpur, our agenda of Mithila state was not being pushed by Maithils there, some of them were cowardice and even went up to the extent of insulting me by not providing chance to speak despite being invited there on March 21st when I had gone there on my own expenditure as usual, postponing Bamangama meeting that day.

Prof. Jha and Maheshji happily accepted and so Vinay Tarun, the young journalist there.

I asked Sudhirnath Mishra, the convenor of the XXI International Maithili Conference,Araria on April 24-25,2010 to come there at Budhanath Mandir and had asked local printer for banners and Mithila slogans of Manikantji on flex which was delivered at my house by the evening of 26th.

Journey in the Patali express was uneventful except that it was over 90 minutes late by the time it reached Jasidih. With heavy bundle of flex, I moved out till bus stand but there was no bus for Bhagalpur and I could get a bus for Banka from where for Bhagalpur there is swift connection.

Banka is an important place and a district headquarters where I had visited once on 24.10.2004 in way to Dumaria-Motia where a Maithili Workers’ camp was running and had gone to the houses of Prof. Mahesh Jha from Rajpur and Dr.Sunil Jha and Dr.Mrs Shil Jha who were junior to me at the Darbhanga Medical college but none were present on that day and with the faint memory of Gandhi Chowk I had returned.

My meeting at Bhagalpur was from 5 pm and so till 3 pm,I could utilize there time at Banka to form a nidus for the Amp work. With the advent of mobile in my pocket I have forgotton to keep diary in my pocket and mobile has a limited number to store and hence I had removed the number of some Dasji who had once visited me as a patient. I tried to contact him through father of Vinay tarun at Purnea as that dasji was also a karma Kayastha and settled there at Purnea as well where he was posted before retirement. Father of Voinay did not know him.

I asked Sudhansu of Dare village of Godda living at Ranchi to gove Dr.Sunil’s number. Sudhansu’s wife picked up phone and after contacting Sudhansu gave me Dr.Sunil’s number but it was with his compounder who gave me his number. Dr.Sunil said that he was at Godda. I asked him that he should tell me one or two person’s number who may help in my mission.

I talked copassangers also and was spotting a person with Gandhi topi for this work. I was taken aback that one more person road had Gandhi cap which I use to see only in Maharashtra’s visit ,on the head of the common men.

I asked Devendra Jha , a reired engineer from Devghar but he had no contact at Banka. I asked Prof. Ugra Mohan Jha about the number of Prof.esh Jha and he said that as maheshbabu was ill it would be futile to meet him and he had no other contact.

I asked my patient Dilip Thakur of the RDCIS who was then at Bokaro but he too did not have any contact. I had already asked Sanjesh Mohan Thakurof Dumaria but he too had no contact.

In the end (thinking might be sleeping after press work till early morning) I asked Vinay Tarun who had once told me about my visit to Banka. He immediately gave me a number of local journalist but by the time I contacted him from running bus in hot weather like that of May the call was dropped after ’hello,’ and soon the calls became non-responsive.

I thought that I would have to go to Bhagalpur directly after my all attempts were futile to find a contact.

I saw the way with curiosity and a board of eye care doctors Manjush and P K Jha attracted me several times. Honestly speaking I do not like advertisement by doctors. I also spotted many places in between just to say the journalist if could be contacted, where I was and my approximate time of reaching Banka.

I entered the town and reached the bus stand. I went to a PCO to call that journalist, Manoj Upadhyay but could not contact him. The PCO person advised me to go to the nearby Hindustan Office instead. It was locked but I saw a board of LIC agency by Rajiv Kumar Jha. In fact his name’s ‘Jha’ attracted me and went to his office, He was not there but his assistants received me cordially. One of them was a maithil Brahmin and a Panjikar and we talked for some time and then an education officer came with whom another income tax advisor talked for long in a very business term as to what happens if people do not declare their income from interests or do not declare their all savings accounts. He also hinted that how an income from ‘number 2’ may be made white if shown as from house property. His other advice was noteworthy that officers should must take their DA as traveling in AC class may be added to their unbalanced expenditure out of their salary and so on and so forth. Sitting in a dhoti in a south Indian style for him I was an ordinary man not an officer but once a word slipped from my mouth that I use to pay additional 20 per cent tax after TDS on FDs. However, his whole talk though informative to service holders had no interest for me as I was not finding some one who could listen my mission on Mithila.

I asked the native place of education office who was sitting there because his nearby office was not opened by that time. He was from a village in between Purnea and Madhepura and I talked with him about the problem of our region and then some other person came who took interest in my talk. Some person asked him to publish my talks as he was a journalist. He asked me to come with him to his office of Dainik Jagaran. I went there and put my points as to how the region of Banka was in Mithila and as to how it was neglected by the Govt. with the allotment of minimum (only one) centre for computer for the BPL students while CM’s district Nalanda was given 20! The senior journalist there. Prakash Vats, told me that he he had listened to my talks when I was visiting Purnea(maybe with Janardan yadav,ex-Minister). There I could have introduction with Dharmendra choudhary and then with Dileep K.Singh of village Phulli and Mukesh Munna of Hindustan too who to told me that Manoj Upadhyaa had chicken pox.

Then I took leave from them and coming out went for urination on right side of road which had no building. It was hot and I was without bath and puja and on fast. I had very concentrated urine. On the opposite side of road ,I saw same Eye care centre and a lady was crossing on first floor whom I felt must be Dr.Manjusha.

I reached LIC Agency, still rajiv Jha had not come. I edrank some water there and felt should meet that lady doctor for the NMO’s purpose. I changed my dhoti to pant in a proper way and went to her clinic and asked her compounder to tell her about me.

I was waiting and saw one gentleman with black goggles there who was called by doctor first but before that I had some exchange of words and knowing him a lawyer I requested that gentleman. Shymabihari Mishra to take responsibility of the organizing AMP there and after consultation to spare few minutes with me to meet Rajiv Jha who too I wished to give some responsibility but was un-decisive till I met him. I was also unaware as to who was the senior among them.

After knowing me that I was from Forbesganj,Araria, Shyam Bihari Mishra asked me whether I had any relation with madhubani and when I told him my native place, Samaul of Madhubani he asked me as to how many brothers I had. When I told about my elder brother, as principal in an engineering college at Gwalior,he sparked that he was his sister’s husband (pisiyaut bahinoi).

I was taken aback and said that now he will have to accept the post of president of banka of the AMP.

Soon came call for him from lady doctor. When he returned with her I introduced myself and she invited me to her chamber and I requested Shyam Bihari Mishra to accompany me. She was an ophthalmologist .passed from AFMC,Pune. I told her about the NMO and about my visit to her college. She called her husband, Dr.P.K.Jha, a pediatrician ,passed from the same institution. I had a feeling of appreciation that they were serving a remote area of the country despite trained in a big metro. Serving our own persons is highly commendable. In a minute or two I explained about NMO and the AMP giving them Aayurvigyan Pragati and Maithili Sandesh and asked him to be in the committee of the AMP. Lady doctor taunted ‘ladies too should have place in the committee.’ I said her to take the presidency itself though I had talked shymBihariji who too asked her to accept but then she refused finding him a senior. I told her that yet she would have to accept chairmanship of the Ladies wing, which she did.

I told her that Murdhanya Sha in her name, I was writing in a wrong way till few months back and had written a blog on that which I would forward her.

Their happy son looked me a bit overweight but his pediatrician father weighing him informed me that he was so some months back but now his weight was constant. Though I was correct to some extent I forgot that parents were of heavy frame and child’s weight also depends on that to some extent.

Lady doctor asked for tea which I do not take and then she asked me for lassi though on fast I had said to take but probably she also forgot and I was in haste to get copies of the Xerox for press and Shyam Biharibabu was also being delayed.

We came out soon and I went to the Jagarn office to gove a copy of the press release and then to the LIC Agency for there Rajiv Jha had come and I he talked so cordially and accepted the AMP work. Now as Shym Bihari Mishra was the president ,I asked him on phone would he like Rajiv as Secretary which he happily agreed. I made him talk to rajiv as by this time BSNL had been right. Maybe it had went wrong to have so many coincidences and formation of Banka unit with all strangers but own people!

I gave a banner of the AMP and membership forms to Rajiv and requested to celebrate Mithila Divas on 14th April, Mithila’s New Year Day.

I was getting late for Bhagalpur’s scheduled meeting and almost ran till Gandhi Chowk with heavy banners and posters in Flex and could get a vehicle which took too much time on the outskirt of the town to pack passengers like goods though I was on a comfortable side seat and ate fruits(grapes and oranges I purchased there despite being on fast) without bath and sandhyabandhan of that day.

I recalled that probably I had crossed that road in past also. On the side of me was a science graduate working for a Science society who was using yahoo on his mobile. I had seen that in 2007 at Bangalore while I was purchasing a ticket there at Jayanagar and was happy that slowly and steadily science was penetrating the interiors of the country. I talked with him on some aspects of science giving my introduction as an editor of a science journal and as a humble social worker. Though I gave him my email id, I knew from his expression that he would not mail me. Most of the people want to work for money only and sitting me like a common commuter he could hardly recognize my worth, even if it would have been something.

Again it was a run in the hot weather and despite that I had a nap for sometime after we crossed Kharhara Chowk(Dhaka More) of famous martyr Satish Prasad Jha(one of the following seven shaheeds in 1942 movement who died one by one taking Tricolor in thier hands and unfurled

Umakant Prasad Sinha - Ram Mohan Roy Seminary, class IX
Ramanand Singh - Ram Mohan Roy Seminary, class IX
Satish Prasad Jha - Patna Collegiate School, class X
Jagatpati Kumar - Bihar National College, 2nd year
Devipada Choudhry - Miller High English School, class IX
Rajendra Singh - Patna High English School, matric class
Ramgovind Singh - Punpun High English School, matric class IX

I could not find the exact date of martyrdom on net-it was in August 1942.

I could not find time even to stop there and bade my pranam from my heart.(once I had stopped there many years back and surely now with the Banka unit of AMP in the existence will find time to go and give salute the martyrs. In his village step brother of my bahinoi, Lait Pathak probably he is named, lives).

Then I had a nap and when I was awake I was in the aliganj of Bhagalpur.I saw one Durgapuror sthan changed name on bords also and then from the bridge took a rickshaw for Burhanath where I was in time.

Soon some Maihtils assembled and we had a good start of AMP. Prof UgraMohan Jha said that despite my announcement of his name as president,he would like to propose Prof. Sadanand Jha for the post. I happily agreed as I found one more and younger than Prof.U.M.Jha but with the condition that Prof. UM Jha would be president of Mithila state unit which he agreed. After some months we will call a Mithila State conference at Bhagalpur to formely install him as president of Mithila state.

Prof. Jha said that the AMP was needed and advised to work with consistency.

Here I did not miss to announce wife of Prof. UM Jha, Dr. Veena Jha to make her president of Ladies wing of Bhagalpur unit.

Mahesh Jha who cordinated that meeting was made the secretary. Young lecturer Alok who runs a Yuva shakti also spoke.I insisted that he spoke in local dialect(Dakshini Maithili or Angika). He spoke well and I hoped in the coming time he would represent in Assembly the Mithila cause. I also said that state of Mithila will honour all the dialects of Maithili and simple Maithili and simple Sanskrit would be Mithila’s first and second state languages.

Jayprakash Jha also spoke well whom I had entrusted to hold one International maithili Conference which was being held now at Arariya, the convener of which Sudhirnath Mishra had reached and invited all to join the conference on April 24-25,2010; not less than 11 wouold be present there, all assurred him.

It was again late and when people dispersed photographers of Hindustan, jagaran and Prabhat Khabar came. Maybe seeing only few the news was not published in subsequent days though Banka’s news was published. Hope Mithila Divas celebrations will find place.

It was the shrine of Burhanath and for me an occasion to have my pradosh puja after taking bath there. I did complete my morning’s puja also and then evening’s. A priest asked me the pages of the strotas of Lord Shiva who was turning the pages woith interest. I gave him those pages for good. He was asking something but could not speak, I am a simple man and was not in a position to give some thing and I also did not ask him as to what he wanted-maybe some doantion..or so which to temples is definetly not commensurate to my economic condition.

A teacher of Sanskrit school,Shyamanadji give me many laddoos as prasad which were for me matter for breaking fast and Sudhirji broght clean and cool water from the cooler there which around 400 ml I drank.

We took a rickshaw and reached to Vinay tarun’s room-again on a top of a mess named on him.

Around 10 he came and cooked rice and vegetable,we ate. Before and after that I read Phanishwarnath ‘Renu’s, “Shrit-Anushrut..” the autobiographical notes and could know that his name Renu was in fact from Rin(loan)his father had to take in the year of his birth..Renu was adopted as a son in the Koirala’s family I could know only reading that book and so many things about him but could not complete and was awole till 230AM.

In the early morning Sudhirji went to narayanpur in way to Araria and after I had my snan-puja on the open terrace came Pusymitra, a young jpournalist, editor of Ang Bharat who had recetly expoded with data on Visfot.com that Govt. of Bihar had spent 44 per cent only on Patna and while patna has 37,735 Rs. Per capita income, second Munger has only 12,370Rs. And the worst are- jamui with 5516 Rs,,Araria 5245 Rs., and Sheohar- the land of Mata seeta only Rs.4308 Rs.

Pushyamitra asked me about more data in favour of Mithila state which I think are many. I said that his named king was the last golden page of 7 by Savarkar. I wish sometime I could write Seven blunders of Indian History(like expulsion of Subhash by gandhi ,etc.)..

It was again late but I had an information that Kislay of the Saubhagya Mithila TV had not left Ranchi for Godda (and so stoppage at Dumaria was about to be cancelled. And so I did asking Vikas who had not informed villagers).

Grom Bhagalpur I did not get a direct vehicle for Godda and again a Banka bound vehicle left me at Dhaka More where again I was in haste in midday scorching sun and I got other vechicle for Godda. In the way to Motia I had seen Mandar Hill which was said to be used as mathani during Devasur Sangram. It falls in Bihar’s Banka district which I had seen first on 5.9.2003 when I had gone Sanjesh’s village Motia first. After my meetings at Dumaria the next day on the next day I had visited Prof. Manimohan Jha’s house also and had entrusted him district presidetship of the AMP but despite my several attempts and had one more visit on 25.10.2004 (after my meetings at Motia and Dumaria on 24.10.2004) and had several telephonic talks but the AMP’s state conference there was not taken there seriously.

It was my last visit to Godda on 23.1.2010 I had a brief meeting at advocate sarvajeet Jha’s house and this time I hoped a formal meeting will be held. Hence, I cancelled Dumaria visit though I crossed that village after Panjwara and a river. I saw again labourers running on feet with several sacks of smuggled coal from the abandoned mines probably, loaded on bicycles. The border between Bihar and Jharkhand had a Singhdwar. I hoped when Mithila would be formed that Singhdwar will be demolished as Panjwara and Motia are two banks of the same river; are part and parcel of Mithila culture-their geography and history and languages are one.

In the vehicle were two passengers, not much read but they liked Mithila pamphlets. Two young boys also took pamphlets and they told me the correct place Kargil Chowk to get down for the LIC office where I went on a rickshaw and reached Netaji Nagar at the Sarvjeet Jha’s house where I took and some food and rest. There I read that in the Rajmahal Coalfields Vidyapati parva was celebrated only 2-3 days back.

We reached Shiv mandir in time for meeting. One Panda was plucking right Belpatra (having intact 3 leaves ) and discarding the others. Soon assembled eminent Maithils of the town including a retired principal. I was waiting for a meeting in order but it was not for the Amp but for a common Yajnopaweet next month. Whatever I could talk informally was meant for me. I had to take my train from Jasidih and hence 5 pm bus as well.

I had some queries from a young journalist and he was impressed by my explanation of Mithil’s contribution to Indian philosophy and its deplorable state and the benefits santhal would get in Mithila as compared to Jharkhand like mkore jobs and ganga water for irrigation, etc. He asked me to come again for that purpose. I said that I had spared my day for that only and may be it may take a long time for the next visit.

Retired Principal had some stray remarks on maithili parishad(an old organization of the place). I explained many things for the AMP and its contribution and invited them for XXI International Maithili Conference at Araria.

I requested Sarvajeetji to drop me to bus and requested him to observe Mithila Divas and have separate meetings as no release can be given on our behalf and further we do not need so many people but few receptive to our mission for our organizational growth. I was again not satisfied with the day’s work but could get a seat 6 on request while he had it vacant but had given me 23rd in a 32 seater.

sIn the way i9 saw Godda college and then a tribal hat where liquor smell was in air. Liquor is to be prevented for the growth of tribal.

I crossed the way, I had crossed before also sometimes and crossed deoghar without a Darshan(like from that Shivmandir ratneshwarsthan at Godda,I repented as to why I did not enter, maybe next time in a meting for the AMP Baba bless me there too)..

My wait list ticket was confirmed .The train was late. I ate dried chura and kheera and waited. I chided a young man well educated for spitting on platform when he spat fourth time and he too felt sorry for that. Unless you indicate, people will not improve.

The train had rush and many without reservations were there but I had a safe upper sat and around 5 we woke up when a young man tried to touch a sleepimng women for removing her ornaments. He was caught bu her husband after running in 2-3 compartments. An old sadhu like person came to save that beaten child(or may be he was a supervisor of that thief?).

At Namkom, I changed to Vancnchal which had been one hour before my train at Jasidih and reaching Ranchi I walked to overbridge and then from AG more to my residence to go to hospital in time with bundle of the corrected some copes of souvenir of the medical conference, I edited.

And then had talk with Bhagalpur and banka workers and Godda journalist. Let me see when I visit there again.

Patna 21.3.2010: Maithils are the biggest SARVAHARAS

Patna 21.3.2010: Maithils are the biggest SARVAHARAS

On 21.3.2010 a meeting was planned at Bokaro but the organizers wanted some more days. They were aware that I do not like postponements and could do function somehow but I agreed since after 4.4.2004 no big gathering of the AMP was held there and on 4.4.2010 there will be a Jharkhand state level meeting.

I agreed to be there in the evening if Puroshattam Express reaches in time but later I found by the SwarnJayanti I could be there in the afternoon (coming from N.Delhi) as good meeting was of prime importance rather someone or me was present or not and on that day Dr. Guneshar Jha, President,AMP, Jharkhand could also be present .

I had a small work at Patna for favour to someone for some nationalistic work putting his case before Kailashpati Mishra, a doyen of the BJP of this area, in whose laps my childhood was. This work was to take hardly 2 hours there and I had ample of time to have meetings of medicos and or Maithils.

For convening a Maithili meeting I requested Ajit Azad (whom I had seen first on 26.10. 1995 at Ghoghardiha railway station where I had gone for the medical advice to the flood victims and the night I had spent at his village Hatni and next day had gone to Madhepur and then to Rasiari to meet Dr. Laxman Jha. After that he had attended II International Maithili Conference at Madhubani during January 7-8,1996) who has recently joined first Indian Maithili Channel, Saubhagya Mithila. He happily agreed and planned it at the Vidaypati Bhavan around 3 Pm on 21st but he had to go to Darbhanga for some urgent official work and in stead asked me to address already a schedule meeting of ,”Maithili Gosthi,” an organization registered in 1981 but was dormant for decades which has been recently rejuvenated. He gave me number of its president Binod Jha who on phone said that they had an organization of SARVHARAS. I replied Maithils are the biggest SARVAHARAS as they are poorest lot rather one of the most exploited lots(exploited by the state of Bihar itself).

My journey to Patna was uneventful except that my RAC seat was not confirmed. I had asked my classfriend Dr.Rita that I would be her guest, . She said that her residence was on walking distance from Rajendranagar station but I could not go there and with my BJP’s friend I had to go his friend’s son, an MLA’s residence where I did my puja-ath with comfort.

Then we went to Kailshji’s house and stayed for a couple of hours. He recalled my father’s acumen in Ayurvedic medicine. There came an old person but in quite health and though he was on Chaiti Chhath fast he spoke very nicely asking Kailashji to help in making some rooms for a college which was on his name. Kailasjhi assured him and asked to come after Legislature session. I also said that he had come for a social work and not a personal work and hence, it would be done.

I had also gone though recommending for a person for some party post it was also in the light of that man’s consistent work since student days and he was not from my caste while the other tipped by others was of my caste. A lady media person had said that I was anti-Brahmin though I’m not anti- to anyone but always try to be with just cause and person.

With my friend I went to RSS office after long spell of some four years since the Bangalore incident about which I explained to Gurusharnaji there who was a senior pracharak.

He requested for lunch and that time I narrated an incident Shrishankar Tiwaryji had with me when he had asked me as to how much I could spend for election if given a ticket(for MP). I had then said,”what a pracharak can spend.” On this one other prachark taking lunch asked me whether I was a pracharak. I said .”pracharak hi samajhiye,” on this he said that there was difference between Pracharak and ‘Paracharak hi,”

I did not reply him in details though I feel pracharks system envisaged by Dr. Hedgewar had a sanctity of sacrifice and I feel I am up to that though working independently. Later I said Gurusharanji that I could establish NMO in nation because I was technically never a pracharak.

I asked my friend to leave me near Saidpur hostel where I may meet some medicos for the NMO but going there I was nformed that medical hostels were converted to university students.

Then I asked one student who was from Jehanabad about students from Darbhanga area. He guided me to one Ajaynath Acharya from Saharsa’s Karama near Puraini( where I had a night stay on 17.4.1998 while going to Sah Alamnagar, which I wished to rename as Madhavanand Nagar, after a saint from UP who settled there and a high school was on his name there). I talked few minutes on Mihtila that boy who had examination at hands but when he knew that I was from Ranchi he asked whether he could stay in my residence for 2 days when he would go there for examination of Police Inspector. I invited him happily and he said that he would become a member of Mithila Vidyarthi Parishad. He showed me other room where I met two brothers Dharmendra and Jitendra son of Badri Pd. Yadav from Chariya, Baisi and we talked for long on many aspects from economics to chemistry bith brothers were studying; from our Mithila’s status to other many things including his family and joked that his father being elder to me I can have words for their mother, Sulochana as bhabhi on which they need not be offended. Surely,if they turn Maithili worker I may wish to visit their parents.

Jitendra called one boy from his area,Akhilesh who on listening to Antarrashtriya Maithili parishad was a bit puzzled and said that he was son of Mohan Yadav who in fact happened to be the convener of the IX International Maithili Conference during Nov.10-11,2001. His house I had gone once which was near Islamia Chowk in the PHED colony. Anyway I could find one who somehow about my reference and that was the proof of my being a ‘pracharak,’ and I did not need a certificate from RSS for that.

It was hot outside and spent time till 330 PM. Dharmendra said that when students take admission in August-September, a good conference of Maithil students can be held. I was sorry to see the dilapidated state of the hostel while as per Dharmendra Patna University was called,” Oxford of Bihar.” It will take many decades to improve the things I thought despite high claims by the persons in power. The change will blow from those hostels if something is to be changes for good and better,

In way to the meeting venue at Hindi Granth Academyat I found rehearsal was going on in the Moinul Haque Statidum for the Bihar Divas on 22nd March. After all CM Bihar could know it. At that time I had no inkling of thought that it was for the political benefit as well as for dampening Mithila movement(which is impossible and we would observe on Aoril 14 th as Mithila Divas).

At 4 PM, I was in due time at the meeting place Hindi Granth Akademy but no concerned workers were there. Some boys were playing-they were talking in Maithili- I asked one of them. He was village Nabani of Madhubani. Other boys were also speaking Maithili. Surprisingly, one Ambarish was from Chapra but he replied in chaste Maithili-an effect of his Maithil friends. His friend santosh, from Bela, Laupha, near Madhepur, had lost his father but after ISc he did History Hons. And was willing to get in UPSC. I advised him not to sit for both-clerks and officers’ examoination rather choose one as per his talent and prepare. He had read Mein Kamf, Man, Lajja and Premchand’s many novels. His father had died and he was maintaining his brother and mother by tuition. Such boys need help and I assured him for that but he did not took my calls despite several attempts.

There I met one person who had worked for Naxal movement and did not accept recent Maoists as Marxists.

Soon Binod Jha ,President,of Maithil Gohthi came and we had informal talks which continued for some 90 minutes on my talks on Mithila. Their secretary did not come and hence they could not make new committee and whole time was taken by me.

When I said that ,”we are born in Bihar but will die in Mithila, and if people did not work for it I may like to die in Nepal where Mithila state was accepted, one person took strong exception to that. I told that even workers like me are disappointed many times.

Binodji saw off me. He had a question that whether I should have called Jeevkantji as ‘Wordsworth of Maihtili,” I explained my view point but he was not satisfied.

I reached station from there to TOI office ,asking for a Jha met a Jha from my matrik Koilakh though he was time pressed. I went to Hindustan and the beayro chief had listened to me in Pustak Mela and then in Aaj searching a Jha ,I found one HN Jha from Ghoghardiha, a Yog expert.

I was not knowing anyone in fact in the tPOI and Aaj and surely Jhas are anywhere nad everywhere and many Jhas know me and my work becomes easier.

I had gone to give release on Indo-Bangla Gangawater agreement and I do not know if it had been given place or not by them though the matter was relevant for them equally.

I reached station and took banana, Prasad (Naivedyam of Patna Hanuman Mandir seemed me again a job to Telugu unnecessarily-I asked him about his language on mobile wherether kannad, no Telugu.

And then green chana and fried chura.

The berth was reserved this night and I slept after one mire introduction of a Chowdhary from Panchobh who had a talk in Maithili in mobile. He lived at Argora-hope someday I find him again. In the morning I gave him a pamphlet.

I came directly to my hospital taking Maurya from Ranchi platform to Katharkocha a Rultapur(halt unofficially near my colony).

Holi Milan with motia-mazdoors-for a demand one should pursue with patience and data and try to garner support from all quarters

Holi Milan with motia-mazdoors-for a demand one should pursue with patience and data and try to garner support from all quarters

On 12.3.2010 ,I had been once again with the motias living south of Ranchi railway station whom I told that I will accept their request for a night stay there if at least 11 motias are literate, taking class from their child. I know it is difficult but I assured them I can spare once a month time for their medical check up and any time they can come to my chamber for free consultation. I had gone them to thank for their support to the cause of Ranchi-Jayanage train which finally could be announced in the railway’s budget of 2010 after a protracted struggle of AMP since 1996 to which later many organizations like Maithili Manch,Harmu, Vidyapati Smarak Samiti ,Ranchi etc, have collaborated. I had gone to them because I had told ADRM Mr. MK Yadav that this train was the demand of railway porters, majority of them were from Mithila.

I had incidentally discovered those motias on 19.2.2003 (when amid heavy hailstorm and big sized ice falling I had run to take shelter in a Hanuman temple, south of Ranchi railway station in way from Niwarnpur where in the Micrographics press my autobiography pages were being corrected; I was going to catch a train for Bokaro to attend marriage of Santosh son of Madanji of Doranda college hailing from village Tyotha;sister of Madnji was married to my late mama Dr. Vivekanand Jha of Koilakh; My sister told me that Santosh had fixed marriage without a dowry and hence I had decided to attend that). One ice had stroked my right ball of thumb which pained for long but my head and thus life was saved due to that small temple where I found many had taken shelter and everyone was talking in Maihtili. I found all of them were from Madhubani and Darbhanga districts and lingua franca was Maithili there. They told me that Shripati Yadav alias Pahlwanji was their leader.

Later I had a meeting with them and was in their contact whenever I used to go to station parking my car that side. On 21.3.2005 there was a Holi Milan in chain of various places of various groups (Madhukam; Ratu Raod ShivDurga Mandir; Samastipur Mitra Mandal’s at HEC’s Sector II Shiv Mandir; Tirhut Mitra mandal’s at Shrikrishan Singh Park, Doranda; Bharti’s in Shyamali;Gandhinagar-Dr.RK Jha’s residence; Santhal Pargana Mitra mandal’s at ShivDurga Mandir,AG office; Bhagalpur Mitra Mandal’s at Hatia Chowk High school ; Munger Mitra Mandal’s at Debadih, Saharsa Mitra Mandal’s in Forest Colony; Purnea Mitra Mandal’s at the Lotus Apartment near Magistrate Colony, and also in Kadru for a Class I Maithil officers. It is not that all were successful but surely some had a great success and among them one with those railway porters was highly successful and was widely publicized by the Hindustan Times.

The porters had asked me to provide a train to Darbhanga so that they can go to their homes for celebrating Holi as bus –owners were looting them . Though on the suggestion of Ram Ekbal Singh ‘Vineet,’ the then deputy editor of the Ranchi Express I had submitted an application for such a train to the then railway Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on 26.10.1996 when he had visited Ranchi for the conference of National Union of Working Journalist of India(NWJUI) and when I told him in Maihtili that we wanted a train to Darbhanga he had asked ‘Barasta (via),’ I had replied,”Dhanbad-Barauni and he had instructed to railway officials but it was not implemented. Then Anil Mishra of Antarrashtriya Maithili parishad, Muri had given petition to Railway Minister Neetish Kumar in 2002 fro train to Darbhanga and Saharsa. For Saharsa extension to pata super was done but Jaynagar’s remained.

When I returned back from Bangalore I raised this issue in the AMP meeting at Chadrashekhar Azad Club and then at High Court Colony, Harmu where on 16.8.2008 when we went to the shop of Arun Jha of Maithili Manch to Fax that news and asked him to collect some 1000 signatures with addresses of Home railway station beyond Samastipur(as I was advised by D N Jha ,President of AMP, Ranchi South whose brother was ambassador of India in many countries. DN Jha had said that railways have perfect business data for all tickets sold). Arun Jha said,”Maithili dekhitanhi,Lalu avedan tarka dait achhi..’thek hai dekhenge,’ aa railway san survey kara lelak achhi je economically viable ee train nahi hoyat.”

On the same day there was a discussion with him also when he said that Jharkhand Maithili Manch did not recognize Antarrashtriya Maithili Parishad. Subodh Choudhary was also with me. Then AMP delegation met ADRM,MK Yadav and convinced him for trial train and thereafter a ssuccession of meetings and petitioned led Lalu’s announcement of train but Mamta Banerjee withdrew that tarin and it was a difficult task for us from both ends(Ranchi and Jayanagar to raise the issue. I personally talked to Babulal Marandi, and Arjun Munda(who both sent letters to Mamta Banerjee), Hukumdev Narayan yadav, Poonam Azad(wife of Kirti Azad,MP,Darbhanga), sent message through Pune president AMP to Mangani lal Mandal, AMP Jharkhand president, Dr.Guneshwar Jha petitioned Governor,Jharklhand,Syed Sibte Raji in Janta darbar with Lekhanand Jha of Vidyapati Smark samiti, Maithili manch Harmu concted Ravindra Pandey,MP from Giridih. I sent petition to mamata several times by post and through Ashok Jha,Kolkata who was a TMC worker and finally on 4th Feb.faxed Mamta, copy taking from website that special train had a wait list when it was given for longer duration and hence on all count that train was going to be commercially viableand even today I see for the train of 22nd March more than 50 per cent berths are booked.

So what is needed for a demand one should pursue with patience and data and try to garner support from all quarters. Maybe many will not give you credit for the work but persue the work without desire of name and fame-people by and large will bless you and that I saw in the eyes of those motias and gave them a 100 rurpee note for Hanumani Jhanda for ramanavi when there will be full day kirtan at that Mithila hamnuman Mandir, the name I spoke so gladly all accepted. Today I told to the reporter of Saubhagya Mithila TV to go there on Ramnavami and take their bite who speak only Maithili in that hamlet.

Panji Vikas Samiti/ Mithila Manuscripts Preservation committee

Panji Vikas Samiti/ Mithila Manuscripts Preservation committee
I happened to stay in the Panjikar Bhavan at Jarail in the night of 7th October 2010.
My recent talks with MD Jha and Manikant Thakur has forced me to talk to one of the Panjikars for calling such a meeting of panjikars and trying to preserve the panjis and also to train new students from old ones.
I also asked him not to put demand of money from the persons ,particularly from abroad though this is a typical habit of ours to ask for money for anything.
I feel society should contribute for any cause provided any organisation of such can run with honest mode.
In such a case AMP may declare Panji Vikas Samiti as its affliated wing if its objects are enlarged for all castes as well as preservtion of manuscripts of all kinds available in Mithila or on Mithila.
The Panjikars themselves may run a trust also or may be asection of that preservation committee.
I hope to talk some such persons in any meeting whenever it suits.

Railyatra with 2.5,Saubhagya Mithila ;Holi Milan with IAS as moderator on Mithila,JNU’s 24X7dhaba,DU,India Coffee House, Abir to Baba Vishwanath

Delhi_Varanasi 26.2.10-1.3.2010:Railyatra- with two and half families, In Saubhagya Mithila TV Studio;Coincidences- Vinay Jha and Malangiaji’s son-in law, Holi Milan with IAS as moderator on Mithila,JNU’s 24X7 dhaba,DU-no one to meet there, at India Coffee House, Abir to Baba Vishwanath and colours by His Ganas

In this short travelogue one may find the above points. Usually persons in job save leaves for spending them in Holi, Dushhera and Deepawali the major festivals of Hindus but I have to take journeys mostly in such days to save leaves for organizational work and so it was one such journey which I had to plan when the meeting at Dhamdaha(Purnea) could not be materialized.
When I reached Ranchi station I found my colleague Dr. RC Khanduri , dental surgeon and his wife in the same bay of the coach. They were also going to Delhi to go to there native place in Uttarakhand. They had a train after 4 hours at New Delhi station. Other couple was also going to meet their son working in IT sector at Gurgaon. Ideally in that IIIAC coach there would have been other couple but where I was an odd man there, the other was a young lady in 30s who next day in introduction was a lecturer of philosophy at Ramgarh Cantt and was going to meet her husband working as an engineer in the Airports Authority of India. So, I felt myself encircled with 2.5 families and it was a wonderful journey considering the food shared between two families where I had an exceptional advantage though that girl also took but was always with protest that she had already for her to which I had commented she thought for a Zero figure. For me it was probably an advance which I had to adjust as almost no food for two days-pre-and post-Holi when this festival is famous for heavy feasting.

For the evening I escaped as it was a Pradosh fast for me and my sister had given me food to take in the evening and the next day I had to reach Delhi in forenoon but that was not destined due to exceptional late running of train and I could eat what other families had offered but for that I had a problem in my puja (Tarpan part) as water is to pour and in AC coaches windows are fixed and closed. I had to go to other coach as there was no water in the coach and after bath in the toilet (to which I was accustomed) I did my Sandhya Bandan,Tarpan etc. on a passage from which cold air was blowing fast in that superfast train.

And also we had a lot of discussion there as per previous evening. The young lecturer had her thesis on the Maya of Acharya Shankara and my explanation to the distinctive Advait of Mithila which was called by Madhusudan Sarasawati, a great disciple of Shankara, as ‘Bhavadwait,’ which does not recognize ‘Sannyas’ for Kaivalya was a bit new for her and others, Her other statement that Sankhy darshan had not advocated for Brahm but of Prakriti and Purush only, it took long time to convince her that Sankhya darshan by Maithil Kapil was also an Astk philosophy not a Nastik one like Buddhists’ Jains or Charvak(who all three were also Maithils). Anyway it was her knowledge based on popular teaching which is mostly anti-Hindu.
I do not remember other parts of discussion but surely the faces of journey friends are in my memory. The young lecturer was going to present a paper on the ethics of female infanticide and I gave her some tips. With sorrow, the Delhi and around among the well off it is prevalent more.

While my colleague Khanduri’s connecting train was missed due to very late running, my recording in Saubhagya Mithila TV was advanced from 2 PM to 5 PM and I reached there almost running to catch the first metro for Rajiv Chowk and then to Rajauri Garden where Manoj Pathak, the anchor of Raj Suraj came himself to receive me.

There I was interviewed on the Health of Mithila, in particular and I established that Mithila is also a distinct zone from the disease point of view, different from rest of Bihar as kalazar like disease is found only in Mithila not down south Ganga except in migrants.
Mithila’s condition in health is dismal. New AIIMS should have been opened at Saharsa or Madhubani or DMCH would have been upgraded. Govt. of Bihar had just presented a health budget of 1.5 % of its total outlay which could not provide basics for vast population which is young (and soon Mithila may be the area of young persons highest in the country).
I also gave some health tips like to avoid tobacco/gutkha in any form; self-examination of breast by ladies and habit of washing anal portion after urinary portion by every girl apart from Mithila may be a hub for medicinal plant cultivation.

The other doctor in the discussion Vinay Jha , I remarked while in discussion that I have heard him by name and so he turned out while he was seeing me off to catch a bus to RK Puram.

What a coincidence againin the bus I just said in Maithili to Dr. Vinay that I would prefer a seat near gate to get down at the stoppage and lo! a person invited me to seat besides him because I spoke in Maihtili and he was Chandra Kant Jha of village Chhatauni, near Jayanagar who turned out as a son-in-law of Mahendra Malangia, a doyen of Maithili drama and my old friend whom I talked on mobile instantly knowing that he was in Delhi. I experienced the power of speaking Maithili once again.

We talked whole way and I got down at my destination and reached my younger brotherly IAS’s flat who was as honest in life as was the other IAS Abhash Chatterjee closely known to me.

There was a small Holi meet like scene- among three guests waiting for me , one was an IPS, and two other ladies apart from my brother’s wife to three of them I remarked would be allocated ministry of defense(say home for a state, she was working in Maternal and Child Service Department whose husband was abroad; hailing from Begusarai she was more argumentative in rage like Devi Durga), education(like Devi sarasawati;she was a lady doctor later I knew from my batch from RMCH hailing from Bhagalpur) and finance(like Devi Laxmi, I said to wife of my brother IAS who in any case was our Grihlaxmi) and once Mithila comes up. The IAS took the seat of moderator when IPS had strong arguments with me against forming Mithila state.
However all of them said that they were not against the view but argued so only to listen more from me in favour of state.

The young IPS was vocal that linguistic division had made nation worse. Not a new objection but I put a hypothetical question before them had not been linguistic states in India what would have result ? It was not replied by them despite my repetitive stances and later I put my views,’ then our country would have many nations like Euro nations.’ I also said that such objection is raised by those only who have already got their linguistic state and none of the state carved out on the name of languages were such who have not developed- be it southern states, or Gujarat and Maharashtra or Punjab and Haryana. I also said that linguistic affinity had even broken Pakistan’s nationality based on religion and Bangladesh was carved out.

Our problem in Bihar is though Maithili is only language of literary status, other dialects speaking persons oppose it and in Bihar Hindi is continued as English is in India.

Constitution has bound us as union of states and there is modalities of newer sate formations and opposition to that is anti-constitutional not those who want states on their points and as far as Mithila is concerned, it was a state till 1328 when foreigner, a Turk, Giyasuddin Tugalque had dismantled that.

Mithila fits the status of a state from any count on which states are made and when in this connection I narrated Mithila’s contribution and life style based on distinctive Advait Bhavadwait, the IAS called his son Adwait(a law student at Bhopal or younger one in Class XII, I do not remember) that he was being discussed. The boys had examinations close and so they were studing in other room.

Though Mithila’s boundary we demand is linguistic we demand Mithila state since it has been neglected by the Govt. of Patna and in fact expoited to the tune of Rs.18 crore per year from each district and no central institution has been opened there (I had demsanded IIT at Darbhanga/Barauni, AIIMS at Saharsa or Madhubani, IISER at Muzaffarpur, IIM at Purnea but all have been allocated to Patna only to which the IPS was opposed that Bihar had no infrastructure to have IIM. My point was that being nearest from Kolkata it would have better feeder from IIM, Kolkata and students of nearby SARC countries too would have been drawn there.

Moderator IAS said that for administrative reasons Mithila State may be formed. His wife was more in favour. The lady doctor had continued objection on which moderator intervened that better we may have dinner and now that four are convinced, in my absence they would make her convinced better.

The IAS had just returned from Africa and on my mention of the Shrimadbhagwata’s story of Maharaja Priyavrta’s making of sapt dweeps(like Jambudweep, etc.) and sapt arnavas(oceans) being made by the churning of his chariot and Janaka’s name with Mithila connection ,he mentioned about Lucy of Ethiopia, the grandmother of human civilization.

I said that I have read that story of her fossils and so called genetic study but there are other points too.(Like a new theory of Hobbits, the 3 feet human who are said to be swept from Africa after a conjectured Tsunami to Far East islands).

I recalled that IAS was selling with me books of Gandhi’s disciple Ramananandan Mishra when he was a student and I too was a young doctor.

And then while dinner he remarked that he has worn bundy-kurta because Mithila needed a Nehru too(mentioning Richard Attenborough had uselessly spent on the make up of Kigsley as Gandhi which I would have been better only with specks) but I cannot be a Gandhi because there was a Kasturba behind him and none so with me.On this the lady officers quipped that they would from their departments among some working ladies bring a Kasturba for me. So, this ended with a Holi talk but not with abirs, I do not know as to why but there were many dishes and sweets and it seems because I had eaten so much I had to go off foods next two days.

I was asked to sleep on the bed of the IAS who is still simple and the room was a puja room (so no chappals allowed though his so clean room and toilet did not need a chappal I carry always with me, to take bath in train toilets in particular). The room had many pictures of saints including that of Pt. Ramanandan Mishra whom we used to say ‘Babuji.’ I enquired about one of his disciples who was well at the age of 92 or 88 I do not remember.
Early morning I got up because I had four appointments in distant areas and I wished to be punctual to get my train in time at 1845 PM. Anujvadhu asked to wait for breakfast but I said that fruits would be ok and she cut apples, oranges and also a delicious mango brought from distance. Boyish looking IAS went till bus stop to see me off in an AIIMS bound bus from where I could get many buses for the JNU. And I got one but it left me near its old campus and when I phoned Maithil Narayan Choudhary, I found myself 3 km away and I preferred to walk finding no bus. A young boy was with me to show the way till Yamuna Hostel of ladies. I walked the Administrative building and stopped near the statue of Nehru which had on a plaque inscribed his vision for a University. Had not I come for some of that reasons unconnected with my any personal work to young students some of whom I had met twice I had visited there recently though some 2 decades back my youngest brother was studying there and I had gone to meet him.

The JNU looked me as having some rays of hope for our mission. I had told them that because our good and talented students have migrated from Mithila, an Osmania like scene cannot be created at Darbhanga or Saharsa and I wished some young students visit Mithila’s some colleges for spreading awareness. However, one should be convinced first before he can convince others. I found still there were remnants of old thoughts in those minds despite my third visit and of course they were not from my old acquaintances that I could dare to say like to that IAS that if I wished Mithila state he has to support that with no arguments to be convinced because he knew me that I in any case can not be anti-national.
On Holi eve not many were present despite email notices but those two boys and a girl(Narayan, Goplji and Manisha) had come to see me were not less. In my whole life time if I could find only one most suitable to the objects that would not be less.
I saw a distinct change in their mind. One who was a leader for Equality race was accommodative to others from deprived groups in Mithila work and that had been my assumption – Mithila and Maithili is one point where both leftists and rightists do meet. Mithila is the seat of most deprived and Mithila is the seat of most elites.

We proceeded to 24X7 dhaba which is opend round the clock on all days. There were many boys and girls. I saw one girl pushing Holi color to his boy friend. Life was lively there and for me watching youth making me younger. One Maithil boy answered other that problem of fighting corruption should not be mixed with demand of Mithila. Same point was raised by that IPS also.I saw Maithil mind same and confused over the issues under emotion. My work is to provide the young a clear message out of my experience in public life working since 1963 and I see no antithesis to any national or ethical issue when Mithila is demanded, maybe it solves the myriads of problems though a few may be created also but advantage is surely more and it weighs in favour of Mithila and hence, many are coming to this path whom I do not know.

Soon two other Maithils came-Shamsher and other stuident of Spanish who wished a translation of Maihtili social fiction in to Spanish. I guided him and asked to e mail me his ideas in details as I was perturbed over Kripanand’s deal on Maithila Painting to some one was taking much time and I feared delay in reaching D.U.

Of course at D.U only always smiling young film director Bhavesh Nandan was waiting. And soon we dispersed. I was left at Preet Vihar by Kripanand for my personal work. After some time my nephew(son of sister) Murari reached Nirman Vihar metro and again in way to Rajiv Chowk in Metro, I found two young Maithil students talking in Maihtili- they were Rajiv Kr. Jha of Beharban-Belahi and Pappu Jha of Mahrail who had an email id too. They left the metro and talked at Rajiv Chowk till we took off. They informed me that at Uttam Nagar Maihtils had Holi Milan without any banner. I asked them to contact Kripanand and give them banner of the AMP.

We came out of Metro station and walked to the India Coffee House . On the road some young college going boys and girls were sprinkling Abirs on each other. The India Coffee House on second floor used to be a gossip place for many stalwarts like Khuswant Singh and even Indira Gandhi. Coffee is cheaper there compared to newly opened Coffee Home.

Bhavesh Nandan was waiting there for us.

When I phoned Dr. Lalchand he was sorry as to why I had not informed him. He said that Nanji Deshmukh’s dead body was in nearby Jhandewalan. Soon came Kripanand too and I asked him to take me there but Bhavesh said that it would take 1-2 hours as many VIPs like Advani with Z security will be there and I may miss the train. I left the idea of going there to pay my last respect to him. Few leaders like him and after returning Ranchi I wrote a condolence message for him on my memory of short talk with him in 1981 and demanded posthumously Bhart Ratna Award from him.

Soon came Ratnesh who has a good exposure of Maithili and other work of Kolkata, Guwahati etc. He said that Kolkata and Bangalore too have this chain of Coffee House and he repeated, Bhupen hazarika’s line on Kolkata Coffee House. I wished some of such young Maithil think for Mithila’s cause.
We discussed a lot about work in Delhi and in Mithila. Coffee and snacks were ordered for all but I preferred a Masal dosa. Its taste was not good as I had in south.

There were few other groups who had assembled there on Holi-eve. Ratnesh and Bhavesh had met there last year on the same day also.

My train time was approaching and Kripanand saw me off at New Delhi station . Though I had a desire to stop and take bananas in the way for missing the train. The train started quickly.

There was a young chartered accountant in the train going to Varanasi and I got many information on the role of CAs. I felt an independent body on the line of CBI say FBI(Bureau pf Financial Investigation) should be made for investigating financial scams as certifications by CA firms are done on many considerations, many times unethical too.

Since my brother working in DLW had gone to Mumbai, I took bath again in the train and did my daily puja as I feared I could not get conveyance to Baba Vishwanath temple.

At Varanasi station I came out to see if there was one and in fact no one was ready to go among few available autos. There was a young man from Haryana who had came for Gangasanan and Vishwanath darshan. I had thought to go next time when time permits but seeing that person I became ready to go on foot also as it was hardly 4 km from there.
However, one rickshaw puller became ready on double charge and I shared with him. That rickshaw puller was also a Maithil from Begusasari. Poor Maithils can do work even in odds for some money.
There were boys in the way with colours and I did not dislike when it was sprinkled on my fresh dhoti .

Crossing through almost vacant streets of Varanasi was a unique experience in itself. We reached Godoliya and walked from there to Dashashwmedh Ghat . Only few persons ,including some from south were there. A few foreign tourists were also there who had been also coloured. The Ganga Ghat which was almost vacant when I dipped in.
I did again sandhya-vandan and tarpan with wet gamachhi. I had no clean dhoti and so I decided to have darshan in that wet gamchhi only and walked to Bawa darbar. In the way there were groups with colours but they spared me.
At the shop of a flower-prasad vendor,I put my bag with mobile(though on return I saw he had provisions of lockers on payment also- what a high tech business!). The street of bawa was full of his ganas armed with colurs who would not spare anyone but I was delighted with those colours that after all I would be able to put Abir on Bawa Vishwanath. There were some devotees from south also. I forgot bottle of my Gangajala and again I returned to that vendor. Policemen did not check me this time even on the first time I had nothing but a plastic carrybag with pujabook and money and ticket in that.
Since there were few devptees only, I had a full darshan of Bawa Vishwanath but as usual I could not ask anything from Ashutosh- what to ask from Him when He knows what I should have asked. Again I forgot to put Abir on Him and I returned back and put Abir on Shivalingam.

The priest pur a nirmalya garland on my neck. Side was the Aannpurna Temple where a couple was worshipping and the priest was asking wife’s name- I quickly slipped out.
I came out and went to the shop to take my bag. The shopkeeper adviced not to put on cloth for putting coplours and so I came out in that wet gamachhi with garland of Nirmalya flowers. One rickshawpuller agreed to go to station. He was from Malda and I talked him in Bengla and he was pleased.

He took a longer route to avoid colours but in the way I could see the Kashi Vidyapeetha. At a nearby hotel, some foreigner toursists were enjoying to see people in colours and one took a snap of mine also.
At a point some boys seeing me cried- Bawa, bawa..true with the garland from Bawa Vishwanath I had become a Bawa- Shivo bhutwa shivam bhavet..

I reached station and finding no vegetarian hotel, I stopped at a khomcha of Litti and took four- soon I felt it was unhygienic place and went in to the platform. It was around 11 and my train was after 5 hours. I went to a tape and washed colours.
Then I went downside of platform 1 and chopped my grown nails with ease, read in Aaj which full bundle was there that a MLA from Jamui(Bihar) had gunned his wife, daughter and himself, son of a minister who was admitted in hospital in shock(not followed Nanaji’s advice of retirement from politics- his son should have been Minister not he,I think)..
I went to platform and rested there for long- purchased grapes and ate. Then went to platform 5 where I was surprised to know a young passenger in a traibal look was going to Bolagir(Orissa) from that Sambalpur via Ranchi bound train and hhis father had opened a shop there though he was from near Varanasi.
The train came in time and young tribal girl of Zoology (Hons) sat in front of me to go to Ranchi. What an advancement among backward tribal community. I had been in Zoology Hons. For few days before I left for Botany Hons for I feared from complex diagrams of animals. Then came a person who did not introduce himself properly but I took his pirated book, Research methods in Health,” by Ann Bowling from Open University Press, Phildelphia. While I was turning pages, he might have been surprised as to what I could have known from turning the pages- after all I was not Kalidas given vara by Kali of Ucchaitha(Madhubani) but surely I learnt many things and clarified many terms as I was the best student of Preventive Medicine of my class. He wanted to pursue PhD from somewhere and said doctors hardly know what health was. True he was but every doctor was not same. I told him that as an editor I find articles where I need statistical terms which we had read a bit and were precisely explained in his book. I wonder if he would have guessed me as a doctor in southern dhoti but surely like the lady young lecturer’s view on Sankhyashastra(which was not Statistics of modern days) I had no time to there to explain that I know a,b,c of modern statitistics too as a part of my curriculum.

That research scholar went to other bay in side to sleep at ease and I asked the other passengers from Bhojpur area whether they would like to go to a Bhojpur or Purvanchal state demaded in UP. They said some people in Bihar are demanding Mithila who may form Mihtila but we will remain in remaining Bihar. True that is going to happen, Mithila will be carved out and Bihar with Bhojpur and Magadh would remain because politicians have only piecemeal approach.
I had no meals in the day and so in the night nor there was anyone like onward journey to offer me food and not only train was almost vacant no vendor was there and only at Daltonganj around 2 AM I could get biscuits to eat. So this Holi was with or without sweets is difficult to analyze- some times too much and sometimes none..so is the life..
The train became again late, long time it stayed at Barkakana and on reaching Ranchi. I went straight to my duty.

Kumbhsnan 2010 Haridwar(13.2.2010)‘While bargaining Hindi while payment Maithili In Sangamsnan with Maithils (14.2.2010),'Namkeen Gudia

Kumbhsnan 2010 Haridwar(13.2.2010)‘While bargaining Hindi while payment Maithili In Sangamsnan with Maithils (14.2.2010),'Namkeen Gudia

That scene of Kumbh was unforgettable. People come for shraddha and faith and to have many things in life and I was also not immune to that but more importantly I had been there for seeing people and people who were mammoth on Shivratri day, the previous day but on 13th Sankranti too there were many. I remember a foreign lady visitor in India many years back when I asked her about India, she had told me there were people and people. Probably she was from Finland.
So I saw people and in fact I had gone for that apart from religious beliefs to which I am not so orthodox.
With that boy Rajesh of Moradabad I climbed to Mansa Devi hill. In the way some Prasad I had purchased seeing which a monkey came to snatch which reflex I protested and soon had torn that packet to give him some but I had no idea of his claw and I had a scratch though my fellow boy had said to leave before it was scratched and a drop of blood.
Now I was scared of Rabies..a doctor is the worst patient. Immediately I climbed up and searched for water tap which I could get after 2-3 minutes..the best and immediate prevention for dog/monkey/cat /bat bite or scratch is putting water profusely-washing for minutes in tape and that I did and then climbed up and and came down. Also I tried to contact Dr.Hridesh whether to go for anti-rabies injection immediately. That should have been but postponed for 48 h to reach Ranchi(I had a reflex protest for saving Prasad to monkey but will end with Rs.2000 to a multinational for five Veraorab..Two years back I had been able to convince GOI for its intraderamal use saving Rs.200 crore per annum but though it is in package information still allowed for a centre having 10 cases per day( with 20% of dose required; I was not awarded for that yet that was a great victory for society). Anyway I am taking those injections here at Ranchi.
There was an airway too go to Mansa devi but climbing certified my heart and health also.
That boy Rajesh of Moradabad took leave from me .
I advanced towards station. I went to a ferry shop of akhrot- I overheard the man talking businesswomen his wife in Maihtili and asked from where they were. Lo! Yadav was from Dethua, Ghanshyampur and we talked. I gave him one Rs.100 note to give me whatever he wished. I saw he gave me 1100 g more than any other customer(he had told me to meet his brother in law Chandrashekhar who was also a dry foot vendor just 100 meter away where he was very respectful to me and I sat on his shop’s stool and now customer’ were thinking I was the master of that shop and I also started telling them rates- Rs.140 per kg akhrot..and others.
I could guess and know some Maithils by tone..Gajendra singh of Railways Samastipur.. and Amit Nayak of Delhi from Madhubani( I am closing by sending this e-mal to him ) so was KK Prasad working at Asnsol but from Pandasarai, Laheriasarai..and Prhlad Mukhiya..and so,but remarkable was Amit’s mother who chided the young selling assistant from Saharsa on his Maithili in the end..”Dam puchhat chhalnhu ,Molbait kharidait chhalhu t’ Hindi, pai leb ber me Maithili-While bargaining Hindi and while payment Maithili.”

Prahlad Mukhiya, the assistant to Ashok’s shop started laughing. He did not give me his home address of Saharsa ans was skeptical. Well I knew the cost of cashewnut Rs.360 and kismis Rs.160 and akhrot Rs.140 for being a ‘show fruit vender,’ while amusing mentally. It was a bit more time and I took leave of Ashok who asked for some breakfast and tea and on refusal offered 4-5 dry fruit, not bad for the remuneration of the services I could render him as a token of help.
I walked up to station and in the way entered one akhara but did nit stay there and near that took meals in a vegetarian hotel run by an old lady. I remained in waiting room for long till my train Link Sangam came in time. I was surprised by announcement that if any lady had lost purse should take that from railway office. A sign of honesty and likewise I was around from napping by the lady attendant and wanted to know from which train I would depart.

I was lucky that my train was not cancelled or late. There was a rush and people entrained in any coach despite having reservation. My seat was occupied by a constable of UP who left half berth and soon we were passing out of Uttarakhand which has not sufficient police and UP had deputed many constables there. In the talk it was known that people of Bijanaur wanted to go in Uttrakhand but Uttarakhandi fear that people of plain may dominate politically. It is a strange situation. The states should not be too small in population and probably Uttrakhand will gain more by addition of northern districts of UP.
One old Bengali couple(whose son was a doctor at Kolkata) who could not board their compartment had entered in general compartment and they came after 2-3 hours at Moradabad. At night some other persons had come after allotment by TTE but they had to return on knowing the happenings.
The train became late and it was morning 730 at Kanpur in cold weather and it took a record 7 hours from Fatehpur to Allahabad. Sojatpur, Subedarganj, etc. again Muslim names of stations.
My meeting time was from 11 AM which was advanced to 1 PM and then to 2 PM. I had to take bath and puja in the train again as usual for me. My train was detained for every train to give pass as if passenger reaching destination had to go home only. I had other train at 3.50 Pm for Ranchi and it was very close.
Vidhu Mishra was in close touch on mobile and president of the Mithila Sangam, Prayag, Dr.Awadhesh Kr. Jha of Lalit Laxmipur was there in dhoti-kurta to receive me and quickly we went to the meeting venue, Nishtha Coaching of Tiwariji who himself was a Maithil from village Manmohan of Sheohar.
Still with formality of garlanding me some speakers spoke in favour of smaller states and so Mithila(though Mithila is not a small state it will with any boundary will be bigger than most of the Indian state in population. Lt. Col. DK Jha of Dharia was on dais and so Pradip Jha of Pokhra.
As usual I put matters before them in favour of Mithila state. The township of late Jaykantbabu had no confusion over Mithila’s necessity. There were many- SK Jha,Satwar,Saharsa, Parmeshwari Mishra,Chakauti, AK Jha,Ughra, PK Jha, Sirania ,Khagaria, Bhagirath Mishra, Shokhara,Begusarai, NK Jha, Murali,Supaul,AK Choudhary, Depura, MDB,NK Jha,Sonupur,SPJ,GP Thakur, Ruchaul, Pandaul, AK Thakur, Kharka, Sitamarhi, CPSingh,Ishakpur,Vaishali, Kamod Jha,Sahnhapur, DBG, MMishra, Chikna,MDB, BK Jha, Ranti,MDB,PK Mishra, Vijai,MDB,AK Mishra, Raiyam, MDB,Sheshbal Mishra, Raiyam,MDB, Gunanad Jha,Ranti, Bhakt K jha, Ahiyari,Chahuta,Madhav Pathak,Bishnupur, Sitaram Paswan,Bhawanipur,MDB,Pardip Mandal, Chachraha, Jaynagar, Vishnukant Mishra, Gajahara, Sudhir Chandra Mishra,Gamdhwari, Sunil Jha, Lorika, Akhilesh Jha, Shashipur,DBG, Manoj Jha, Raiyam and so on.
I asked them to arouse people in their villages when they go and have training camps there. In fact my visit to cities out of Mithila is solely for this.
President Dr.Awadhesh Jha requested me to visit Mithila in Dhoti though it is more comfortable let me see if I can adopt it.
Baby Shailja(whose correct name I could recall when there was a call from her father Vidhu Mishra whom too I had recorded in mobile as RD Mishra) took photos in digital camera continuously. I asked Mishraji to email it to Saubhagya Mithila. Though I was not sure whether such a grand meeting was reported to press or as here we always lack but Vidhu Mishra told me on phone that many papers had reported it.
In next viste as Dr. Jha had assured three times or more people will be ,I feel I may have Sangam Snan too( and there surely I will have dhoti)..
I asked Vidhu Mishra to have pack lunch and lo! again it was on Sir PC Banerjee Rd. in front of the house of late Jaykant Mishra, the ‘grand oldman of Mithila Movement’ ..Vidhu Mishra is his nephew..I had many sweet memories of the house and the city of Prayag while coming.
A young boy of tourism discussed much on Mithila’s tourism but yet I have to find his email for synopsis for his PhD. He was a bit shaky for Mithila’s statehood which was not uncommon at this age. My train was some late and we could discuss more .
Vidhu Mishra’s wife had made Badi for me but could bring only puri-tarkari. My younger brother, Shubhakar too had come and we took food which was plenty.
The return journey to Ranchi was again with a young couple whose lovely daughter, Vaishnavi, was adamant for salt(to eat rice) and she did not eat till she got that at Varanasi..I gave her the name of Vaishnavi Salty or NAMKEEN GUDIA and I promised her to write a story named ‘Namkeen Gudia’ for her which I’m yet to write and send her teacher at Bokaro. In fact 2 per cent children are hypertensive in country and salt should not be taken in excess and I may write a story for such children where pran of a Namkeen Gudia will be in a parrot like that of many fairy tales and Gudia will will be warned not to take more salt showing her salt’s fatal effect on a leech which will die due to salt excess. The Gudia will like no salt but toys and that not too but a computer.
2-yeared Vaishnavi was able to recite Durga’s many names. Her father was given a job for steno in Jharkhand to which I had some mental protest -small jobs should must be given to localities..
When I reached Ranchi my sister had made badi(as per advice of Indu elder than Bindu that after Kumbh Snan Badi-Bhat is taken as a ritual in Mithila and I recalled Vidhu Mishra had said that his wife had made Badi Bhat for me..It is the tradition of a area that people follow – for Kumbh snana for all Hindus it is a life time opportunity, maybe after that badi-bhat a regional tradition of Mithila and so also Mithila fits as a state of Aaryavart and is a distinct region this I could know despite my village Samaul and Gajhara are distant apart but it makes a unit of our country.
For me Sangam of Maithils for Mithila was not of smaller importance than Gangasanan at the Sangam of Prayagraj, about the lost Saraswati and its civilization I had said few lines as introductory in my speech. I wish many great Mithila Sangams(Conferences) soon for getting statehood for Mithila.

Muzafarpur boiling for Mithila, claims half Gandhi Maidan;Vajjika, Angika to“Choose between Janki and Jarasandh;languages local Maithili and Sanskrit

Muzaffarpur is boiling for Mithila Movement; “Mithila Banao, Bharat Bachao”
Mithila will take half of Gandhi Maidan and we have no problem like Hyderabad as Mithila has inroads there through Vaishali; Vajjika and Angika fans should “Choose between Janki and Jarasandh((Mithila and Bihar)”; Mithila’s state languages will be Maithili(of that area for governmental work, not literary Maithili) and simple Sanskrit ,

On February 22,2010 Muzaffarpur had a massive dharna for Mithila State where ladies also participated. Here is a brief I had written on 9.2.2010 and had posted to Mithila_vasi group:
Muzaffarpur is boiling for Mithila Movement: Dharna there on Feb.22,2010
“Mithila Banao, Bharat Bachao”
Muzaffarpur is the financial capital of Mithila
Mithila’s state languages will be Maithili(of that area for governmental work, not literary Maithili) and Sanskrit , Mithila will take half of Gandhi Maidan and we have no problem like Hyderabad as Mithila has inroads there through Vaishali.

To summarize a telephonic talk 39minute.39 second(+1.52 with JKL Das)=42.31minutes w ith Sharda babu and Madan babu and Shailendra babu is just over of the magic mark of ‘42 famous is India for ‘Quit India,’ movement of Gandhi. If I add an initial 0.23 seconds call to it 42.44 again becomes more significant a number though I am not master of numbers like Srinivas Ramanujam was or a numerologist that I can predict for the date of formation of M it hila under Indian Constitution but such long talk with a non-political person of my level is predictive of the mood of the people of Tirhut.

Tirhut is derived from the place,” where three times arghya giver Brahmins resided who were sent to different part of Bhartvarsh to inhabitant rather inculcate the Vedic culture, ”as spoken by MS Golwalkar, famous as Guruiji of the RSS to my father Dinakar Sharma, a Vaidya by profession when he had replied, Tirhut means ’land surrounding rivers,’ as usually any Maithil. Mother Sit a called as Ma it hili by Adikavi Balmiki in the Balmiki Ramayan, was born just north to Muzaffarpur at Punaura near Sitamarhi.
I concluded the phone talk with a slogan, “Mithila Banao, Bharat Bachao.”
Well Gandhi had started his role in Indian Independence from Tirhut’s Champaran and I am not a personality to give a slogan like Gandhi did in 1942.

Khudiram Bose was hanged at Muzaffarpur and hence, Antarrshtriya Maithili Parishad had resolved on 2nd Oct.2004 in it s XII International Maithili Conference there that the town be named as ‘Khudirampur,” unanimously by the local leaders of all parties present there as guests. After all Muzaffar was a revenue clerk only on which it was named during the days of oppressions though Modphalpur(Litchi as called in Sanskrit ) would have been appropriate- even Litchipur is better as it is only fruit which is not translated in English as it has probably it s origin here.

On 3rd October 2004 , newspapers had published the resolution as headline however one of them had caption passed by “Antarrashtriya Mahila Parishad!” I wish some day our ladies come on the street as we witnessed them in Kathmandu streets for Mithila state.

Just for a joke, now one can say this beautiful c it y as, ’Macchadpur’ as being deprived of civic amenities by successive governments it has turned so that mosquitoes are even resistant to the repellent coils. In my visit on 22.8.2009 there in the Savita Bhavan I was almost awake whole night for mosquitoes, despite going on roof top there was no relief. I had then put up clothes from toe to head and could spend some moments in sleep.

“Muzaffarpur is the financial cap it al of Mithila.” I said Sharda Babu while he was anxious for expenditures on Feb.22 Dharna there.

I said that if Chamaparan also (i.e. full Tirhut Commissionary ) joined Mithila State, Muzaffarpur’s claim for cap it al will be strengthened though I envisage Mithila School Examination Board, Mithila High Court and Mithila Public Service Commission in three different towns of Mithila, other than its capital(on the pattern of Rajasthan,MP,UP).
Then even it maybe at Patna-let Govt. of Bihar make Patna, centre of IIT, AIIMS and all..We will take half of Gandhi Maidan and we have no problem like Hyderabad as Mithila has inroads there through Vaishali.

Sri Bijendraji, now Minister in the NDA Ministry of Bihar(then a RJD MLA which he left later on and won as independent candidate on which I had sent him a congratulatory postcard though did not receive his reply). had said in 2004,”Some great person had somewhere writ ten for Muzaffarpur as Mithila’s cap it al, if that would be he would support the Mithila Movement whatever the party line was.

It is true that Dr. Laxman Jha had writ ten thus in his book on Mithila but the AMP –MRSS has no link with his movement and we differ on many points:
Dr. Laxman Jha had asked for special status for Mithila with it s Army etc. but we want only a State in India like any other state and we feel that we should be perfect Indian.
Further Dr.Laxman Jha wanted Nepal ’s region of Mithila be united but we, AMP-MRSS want Mithila state in India of Indian territory only.

(For Nepal there AMP demanded separate state and it has been granted on January 21,2010 , by the Constituent Assembly with a majorit y vote of 24:22 of 46 members, course as M it hila-Bhojpur-Madhesh state, one state among Nepal’s 14 states; probably there too many Maithili speaking area will remain in its eastern state and there when second reorganization of states will be after some decade, that areas may be united in Mithila and Bhojpuri fringe area may be made separate or joined in western state to that- anyway at the moment we congratulate Nepali Ma ithils that they have achieved what we Maithils of India could not).

Madan Babu was particularly happy over my talks on Saubhagya Mithila channel televised on 7th Feb’2010 night- on which many have phoned me(though I did not see myself) and that too, on my line (for so-called some of Vajjika and Angika fans who unnecessarily oppose Mithila demand)-“Choose between Janki and Jarasandh(Bihar).”
Mithila has tradition of Mother Seeta and we will give more opportunity of developing dialects of regions.

Mithila’s state languages will be Mait hili(of that area for governmental work, not literary Maithili) and Sanskrit (devoid of dwivachan and of only three Kaals, may be spoken and learnt by any in five days) though it will give honour to all languages included in VIII Schedule and recognized by Sahitya Akademy.

It was a long talk but summarizing that I feel Muzaffarpur is advancing to Mithila goal. I wish it leads entire Mithila.

As a Hanuman not finding Mithila in Mithila Parishad,Bhagalpur meeting I walked out - “Vajji Ang rahal sada Mithilak sang, rahat sada Mithilak Sang.”

Bhagalpur 21.2.2010- As a Hanuman not finding Mithila in Mithila Parishad,Bhagalpur meeting I walked out - “Vajji Ang rahal sada Mithilak sang, rahat sada Mithilak Sang.”

I had been to Bhagalpur many times. Since 1992 I have records on my Excel sheet and it was my 20th vis it on 21.2.2010 and in fact first vis it as a properly inv it ed guest for a Vidayapati Parva by the Secretary, Mithila Parishad, Bhagalpur .

Thursday, the 28th Jan.2010
Dr. Thakur Saheb
I am very much glad to review your efforts and love for Mithila and Maithils. God bless you for this efforts . Certainly it praise worthy. We are going to celebrate 'Vidyapati Smriti Parb' on 21st. of February, 2010 (Sunday) in which Ms. Chief Justice of Jharkhand, Respected Ms. Gyan Sudha Mishra has been consented to be the Chief Guest. You are also requested to make yourself free on that day and come here to attend and cooperate with us . Hope, you will join with us and give us opportunity to join with your mission. Rest in next exchange.- with Regards- Yogendra.

(Before this he had mailed this:
Sunday, 27th of December,2009
Respected Dr.Thakur
Thank you for your efforts and press release etc. Today we have resolved in our Mithila Parishad, Bhagalpur to support your mission and further they have requested me to convey you the message in this regard. Now, we are trying to do something more for the sake of separate Mithilanchal and her development. The statement issued by Ms
Shila Dixit is purely political and we should not give weight of her step.Rest is fine.- Yogendra)

And I had some telephonic talks with Yogendra Dasji also. Once he said that some official had cautioned that there should not be talk of Mithila state. I had said him that it may not be a resolution of your organization but guests should have freedom of expression.
When I reached the venue I sensed some ‘uncomfortableness’ amongst the organizers and was taken aback not to find my name in the list of speakers or guests. Certainly I had not discussed with them as to my position on dais but it is a common sense that invitation to me was not to have one more head in the audience (which were few in time when function was schedule to start). Out of decency I kept mum.
I had some talks with Prof. U.N. Jha, a very senior teacher and learned man. Soon came Ajit Kr. Ajad near me who was appointed as the General Secretary of the Antarrashtriya Maithili Parishad in 1996 when I became its first President(before that I was convener of a board of 7 Maithili organizations which did not like to run such an apex organization though had agreed to found one so in 1993). I gave a copy of Maithili Sandesh to Ajit and had just some informal discussion. He went out and after some time Yogenrda Dasji came and asked me not to distribute any Mithila related bulletin or pamphlet which infuriated me as if I had done any sinful act and that too demanded by an organization named on Mithila.
I went out immediately as I was feeling humiliating and also I was under the impression that Dasji might have invited me innocently on which other officials of Mithila Parishad might have objected and he was sent to communicate me.
My views for Mithila State was no secret and hence they should not have invited me. Some persons with badges(of officials) tried to stop me and some had stray remarks too(like . no politics be done to which I said that what I am doing is not politics-educating people for their rights is not political and is permitted under Society’s Act was probably not known to them who include a lawyer also..
Further I said that none of you were ware that Maithili today in VIII Schedule was due to me to which some person objected than I had chance to explain that it was the AMP President Dr. Bhubaneshwar Prasad Gurumaita who in 2000 AD with the then Sarsanghchalak of the RSS, Sri K S Sudarshan had 90 minutes talk with Prime Minister Vajpayee after which he mollified his stand and announced for Maihtili’s inclusion in VIII Schedule while inaugurating Nirmali’s Koshi bridge’s construction.
I advised them to change the name of their organization if they were so much scared of Mithila’s statehood. I also said them that demanding a state is not unconstitutional and or anti –national. Our Constitution has provision for its amendment and we want that by the constitutional process and if that was even if would have been uttered by me before a custodian of Constitution it would not have been inappropriate.
I am not a political man and I know my limits rather their list contained names of political persons to be felicitated be he Krishnanad Jha or Anil Jha, MLA or may be Sri Sahnawaz, MP.
Problem is Maithils are to know what they want to achieve. Cheap popularity, some benefits from some officers or so.
Simply because my life is Spartan one has no right to insult me. Being MD(Gen Med) and DCH and editor of medical and Maithili journal with several writings(including a Maithili translation of Bhagwadgita) I was probably not less qualified than any other present there that they decided to exclude me.
Yes, given few minutes time I would have delved into the history of down of Ganga that they were also Maithils. For any meeting, I do study and have studied for this meeting also. Mother Seeta, adopted daughter of 24th Sirdhwaj Janka was born at Punauradham near Sitamarhi but before first of 54th Janka the story of Bhagwata says Priyavrat had encircled all round with his chariot creating seven DWEEPAS( lke Jambudweep of the Bhartkhand we live and recite in every Sankalpa.. and seven ARNAVAS(Oceans); brother of Sirdhwaj Kushdwaj had whole territory of Koshi and down till Anga, and Kalinga. In Skandpurana it is written in Ch.10 describing Baishakh Mahatmya Kushketu’s son Hemkant was Bhupal(king) of Bang and so was Vishal who ruled Vaishali.
Till Orissa’s area was once upon a time part of Brihat Videh(Mithila) and hence, there is a small temple ‘Janakpuri(Mausibari) where Bhagwan stays for 9 days during Rathyatra.(and in way to Jagannath from Baidyanath Maithils are settled like at Bahragora since time immemorial).
Agrasena’s sons- Yadava of Mathura won Ang, bang and also Mithila(and so later Lorik Yadav ruled who had a war with Chuharmal of present Mokama Tall and then onwards Maithils desisted even to have Gangasana on south bank..but they did give daughters to Brahmins who were not the first Maithil migrants..Konkan,Goa, was inhabitated by them as pewr Skandpuran; recent addition to my article is Lata Mangeshkar ois from a clan of Konkani who had migration from Munger..Lord Magrish is still in Goa..and so on 20th Feb. while delving the books I could find origin of Charvak, the first materialist or communist who was a Maithil, Son of Suparshwa Janak’s Rajguru Shrutdev who had given south parts of Ganga to his son-in law Samba on whose name village Sambho is still dwelling.
From the Jambavant Jamui has been named where we had seen brutal massacre (because of again underdevelopment as a cause of Naxalism) inconsistent with the traditions of communal peace of Mithila like what happened in 2009 at Khagaria in the heart centre of Mithila. Naxalites want ‘Red Corridor’ from Pashupatinath to Tirupati which can be shelved only by creation of a powerful Mithila state when I say power I mean Power of Energy, electricity generation for agro-industrialization and distribution of Ganga-Koshi-Kamla basin water till Baidyanathdham as if for His Jalabhishekam..
I also could knew about Kratujanak or Jaimini, the founder of Vaisheshik darshan.
I would have congratulated a daughter of Mithila from where Law started by Gautam on whose reference by Sri Rangnath Mishra as the Chairman of National Human Rights’ commission I had 45 minutes argument for Maithili’s case in VIII Schedule when he had visited Ranchi on 20.9.1994.
I would have complemented her for Maithil women’s glory like that of Gargi, Maitreyee or Bharati. When a media person asked me as to why she was not in traditional Maithil Pag I replied under protest(a legal jugglery) though I was not present at that moment I was unable to say whether she was offered that or not or she did not accept to my opinion being a lawyer and judge if she could a black coat why not a PAG for giving a message that Mithila’s women are no under discrimination.
I might have mentioned my first viewing of a story of female infanticide while I was in the house of a courtesy visit to a Telugu doctor that Maithil sound attracted me- that was a story from Katihar-Sahebganj around on a stone throw distance of Bhagalpur.
Where was the language/dialectical barrier that people crow for ‘Angika’ or ‘Ang’ when Vikramshila is written as Bikramshila on Maithili’s pattern of least use of V and for that matter of Bihar for Vihar of Jhadkhand for Jharakhand would have been correct.
I would not have been political rather a matter for PIL I would have been provided if I would have time to ask as to why Govt. of Bihar had announced only ONE computer centre for BPL students when it had 20 for Nalanda and so 9 for Bhagalpur or only one for Banka Madhubani or 7 for Darbhanga but 69 for Patna? Whether poor lived in Patna or win of Digvijay made Banka richer?
The organizers did not found me fit giving a slot or seat with the legal luminaries though in distant Hyderabad I was called by the Mithila Sanskritik Parishad to preside over such a Vidyapati Parva way back on 28.1.1996 where chief guest was Hon’ble P.S.Mishra, the Chief Justice of A.P.High Court.
Undoubtedly in my 3-5 minutes of time finally, I would have predicted that a Mithila-baiter Govt. too will loose like Maithili baiter lost in 2004. I had addressed there thus such a function when I was not much known to Maithils there on 26.12.2004 when I had professed on that day (for the first time by any one?) that Lalu would loose (not only because he was an anti-Maithili but also I had said that Muslims would not vote him; then I was returning from Guwahati addressing such a Vidaypati Parva on 19th Dec. and was at Darbhanga on 21st and 22nd, Begusarai-Khagaria 23rd,Saharsa 23-24, Forbesganj-Purnea and Bhagalpur 26th Dec. before taking Vananchal Express from there).
Lalu lost in 2004 by a downward slide of 0.22 per cent of votes only(and I may take myself as a sole cause for it because I had entered unexpectedly in the field as a Ma it hili worker in 1992 when he had removed Ma it hili from the BPSC for no reasons and my one incidental protest letter to the local Ranchi Express after which it s Deputy ed it or Ram Ekbal singh ‘Vineet’ came in pers on to my residence w it h that news cutting and insisted me to come in the meeting of Ma it hili Vikas Parishad of which he was president and was active when local glamorous Vidyapati Smarak Parishad’s officials were sleeping.
That Maithili Vikas Parishad was transformed by me as the Antarrashtriya Maithili Parishad on 19.6.1993 though basically I was working for the National Medicos Organisation(NMO) which was by the God’s grace founded by me on 5.11.1977 at Varanasi by calling a meeting of medicos assembled there in the ABVP Conference.
For that I had toured Bhagalpur sometimes, the exact number of visits I’ve yet to collect from my old diaries(1980-1992). Yet, Bhagalpur is the commissionary under which I was born at Forbesganj of Araria district in 1955 and when ganga Bridge of Barari became operative it has been my portal to visit Forbesganj as well. I am related to the district- my first memory of Ajgaibinath dated back to 1960s when as a child I had visited there where w it h my parents and had stayed on Ganga bank in the house of Parmeshwar Jha of village Bangaon of Saharsa who was maternal uncle of my mother and was the Manager of Sultanganj Estate. At Sabour still my Mausi is and my cousins are married there.

The glimpses of above visits will mark that there has been a definite shift of purpose of my visit to the city of Bhagalpur gravitating to Mithila cause and more so to crack the mind of people there that they should join Mithila state when carved out, least nobody should blame that Dhanakar Thakur did not went there to ask people to join the land of Janki leaving them at the mercy of the progeny of Jarsandh of Bihar(Magadh) and for that I tried to utilize every opportunity I can have and under this backdrop when I was inv it ed by the Secretary of Mithila Parishad Sri YNL Das, I had asked him to keep a date in February excepting 21st when I had a Mithila Conference at Devghar’s Bamangama but he informed me on phone that as per date of Mrs. Gyansudha Misra (Hon’ble Chief Justice of Jharkhand) the date has been fixed on 21st. Earlier there had been proposals to honour her by the AMP as she as a Maithil women had gone to that post (and God bless she is elevated to Supreme court under the backdrop of HE President’s wish to have a women in the Apex Court) and I had requested for her time through Shri NK Jha of Bokaro Steel Plant and also to her maternal cousin, Mithilesh Kr. Mishra of Sabour. And when I knew that she was coming I was doubly happy and advanced the date of Bamangama conference and also did not accept Jamshedpur ’s Dr. Rabindra Choudhary’s insistent request to go there in youth conference on 20th Feb. and to address the gathering on the World Mother tongue day on 21st February apart from declining a request of my colleague lady doctor’s request for a Ramkrishna Mission’s medical camp among tribal.

I went out of the venue at Bhagalpur not because it was my insult- I felt as a Hanuman I should not stay in a surrounding who have no love for M it hila. Not only I had advised them to change their name, I asked Prof.Udayshankar Mishra of Darbhanga (today on dharna at Muzaffarpur for Mithila state) we should not go to any such orgnisation’s inv it ation if they are opposed to or shy of Mithila.
I know it happened w it h me because,’Ati parichay je hot hain aruchi anadar hoy..”
Bhagwati bless them. I was honoured at many places where I reached without any invitation be it Chasnala or Madhubani or Faridabad or any village of Mithila . If Bhagalpur had dearth of chair for me it was their problem. Last week I found President of Mithila Sangam, Prayg waiting for me hours for a shot-noticed meeting(there is also a High court and once some doctors took me to have a hand shake wit h Justice Jag Mohan Lal Sinha who had nullified election of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi) and if our Maithils felt I was unfit it was their problem..I asked Binay to take me to medical hostel there and was pleased to have a talk w it h Arun, Priyadarshi, Neeraj and Raghunandan the budding doctors to work for the NMO and have a life devoted to people. Other meeting w it h local Angika youth could not be convened as I had no inkling to go anywhere that day from Mithila meeting and so none was informed. I took my train and had gossips w it h my bhauji Aruna and asked her to inform my cousin Dr. Keshkar that I went out despite his presence because I did not want that he be felt a party to that in any way. I talked some other workers for other programmes- talked w it h BBC correspondents of Jharkhand and Bihar for giving place to Mithila news and was busy till Kiul came and I could have some banana to eat and sleep(ongoing journey I was awoke from 2am from Jamalpur) and when I got up I was approaching Ranchi thinking for other schedules.
After coming Ranchi I talked to Prof. Ugramohan Jha , Mithilesh Jha and my cousin Prof. Keshkar who all were angry over the behabiour of organizers and I asked them to forge a unit of the AMP in my next visit. Awadhesh paswan from Jhandapur had come Bhagalpur that day who phoned to have Salhesh Jayanti on 14th April on a grand scale..at least he was one who had come there due to the AMP’s consitent work in that area and I hope soon Bhagalpur will have a grand function for Mithila’s ideals and demand, after all we want Bhagalpur to go with Mithila-
“Vajji Ang rahal sada Mithilak sang, rahat sada Mithuilak Sang.”
