Koshi Dai is a River of Mithila- let Maithils decide their destiny on Koshi kasi/ Koshi kushi or Koshi Khushi or khudkushi (suicide) in future

30.8.2008 Koshi Dai is a River of Mithila- let Maithils decide their destiny on Koshi kasi/ Koshi kushi or Koshi Khushi or khudkushi (suicide) anytime in future!

On my sister’s mobile today a call was from 06455 i.e. of Forbesganj, my birthplace and hometown. It was of Prof. N.L.Das, VP, AMP who had some minutes back AMP President, Dr. Bhubaneshwar Prasad Gurumaita with him. Dr. Das informed that though Forbesganj was safe till then from the flood waters they were serving the flood victims in the vicinity. The fund is puring now but I cautioned that ‘flood scam’ was again imminent.
Though PM’s package seemed lucrative it will be Rs. 1000000000/2000000 people = Rs.500 per head and as Rajiv Gandhi had said only 7 paise a rupee reaches to the intended and so Rs.35 per head only will be the output and one may add some other international and national NGOs . Voluntary organisations’ contribution. So some Rs. 40 per head.
Rightly the ‘flood Yogi’ rather ‘ Koshi flood Yogi,’ Dinesh K. Mishra’s yesterday told me from Barh( of magadh, present Patna where in olden days might flood coming not in Mithila where rivers were suffixed Mai, e.g. Koshi Mai, Kamla Mai because it was never havoc rather it brought fertile clay and Mithila was one of the happiest region, the wealthiest region of the Aryavart(north of Vindhyas, south of Himalayas).
Dineshji was returning from Arariya, Supaul area and told me that though the 1987 flood(when I had worked at Katihar district for relief with a team of CCL- NMO) was the most devastating the 2008 Kushha breach was the most forceful as it was encalsulated in form.
Dineshji’s book, “Trapped between devil and deep water: The story of Bihar’s Koshi River,” will be released on Sunday 7th September, 4 PM at the India International Centre Annexae, New Delhi where I would have loved to present(even now there is a possibility to go) for making the issue of flood at a ripe time though I know as remarked by Ram manohar of Nepal in the mail below sent me two days back and in the same tone said by Engineer Braj Kishor Jha from NOIDA (who was a neighbour me for long and had spoken with OHP presentation on the Flood management in Mithila on 19.6.1993 in the First International Maithili Conference at Ranchi where my idea was formulated as the AMP as an organization) that, “IT IS A MATTER OF THE PEOPLE OF CONCERNED AREA OF MITHILA ON BOTH SIDES OF INTERNATIONAL BORDER AND THEY ARE TO BE ASKED THEIR VIEW BUT ARE NOWHERE IN THE PICTURE.”

Yes, my friend Dinesh’s book’s title would have been , Koshi :a River of Mithila. Bihar , rest of India and rest of Nepal can have sympathy for us but that is like that of a neighbour, rightly remarked BK Jha who this morning called me on phone to see damage from west side(Nirmali where we had participated in a mammoth convention on flood convened by Dineshji in 1995 probably.
Maybe I am not so active today perturbed by personal problems that I request ed him to postpone the visit rather attend Dineshji’s book release which he can and I may accompany him after we discuss the things with Dineshji who for flood management in Mithila is our index.
Dineshji agreed to me in talks that the best way will be pre-1945 stage i.e. no bandhs on Koshi river or in fact on any river- WHO CAN CONTROL MOTHER, mother Koshi infact is said as unmarried and so Koshi Mai or Koshi Dai ( Father’s sister) world have been more appropriate.
Any attempt to have dams high or low would result in frustration. Science was slapped by Koshi Dai and it resorted to its 350 years back route. The Government experts say that they would try to make pots again to make Koshi on the old (pre- 2008 Kushaha breach) route. As a Civil Engineer from the IIT, Kharagpur, Dineshji also said that was the available scientific way though he too agreed that ‘NO Bandh’ will be ideal(it is not my but his and his friends old theory on which I as a social worker have based my lectures which had input from legendary Dr. Laxman Jha’s letter to me also and though I have been independently working in 1984(at Koparia where Dineshji came first in picture of flood management as Oxfam auditor and dedicated his life for this cause whom I could meet in 1990s sometimes and since then am in close contact) as a medico-relief provider stimulated by Vivekanada of Khagaria, then a student of my alma mater, Darbhanga Medical College, now a professor Radiology at Katihar Medical College.

Today truly said BK Jha that the problem of Koshi Floods though is the matter concerning with the Mithila of Nepal and India but the route problem lies in more north in Himalayas on which he has asked his daughter, an engineer, to have in depth study whle she is presently in a UD University.
I mentioned him my information based on the BBC’s talk with a scientist from Calicut(Kerala) that Himalayan areas have many huge lakes(like Mansarovar) the boundary of which was being damaged releaging millions of cusex of water equivalent snows.. So the floods in Mithila seems to me as a result of global warming an d for this who is responsible?
Dineshji said me yesterday that initially the flood victims demanded compnasation not relief but today we are forced to beg for relief and go for compensation.
But from whom? GOI one may say but in fact it is all due to the US and such highly industrialized countries who spend higher energy than third word. One fifth energy consumption is by US which has merly 4 per cent of the global population which I had written in a deep moment in my one of the Maithili poem..
“Ehi ber Varsha nahi bhel, Gamk Gam daha gel..”
And then this US,etc. give us a prescription of High dams..as a solution..
I was reading Arundhati Roy’s “The Dam Bursts, in the Outlook Vol.XL, No.46, (Nov.27, 2000) which was lying in the garage of BK Jha’s friend Er. KK Thakur from Katihar which he had given me sometimes back to read. In that article she had written that dam builders want to control public water policy. India’s 3600 dams are big dams which was 40 per cent of big dams being constructed in the world which was worth $ 20 billion a year while the contribution of large dams to India’s foodgrain produce was less than 10 per cent while 10 per cent of total amout produced was eaten by rats also!
Whether natural rats had sharp teeth or two-legged rats is a mtter of big concern.
And this was at the cost of 56 million people displacement with almost nil rehabilitation.

Though I do not subscribe her other anti-RSS approach let us concentrate that Koshi or any other river’s flood in Mithila in particular is hardly amenable to high dam concept though Dineshji said me that now Nepal is asking for review treaty and for compensation of flood in its area from the GOI and under pressure GOI may accept any condition from Nepal for Koshi High dam( eg. Two routes to sea - though only one is permitted to land locked countries).
Let it be known that the present Govt. of Nepal has started showing its anti-India instance and BK Jha agreed what I had written sometimes back, Koshi is for Nepal as Pakistan has Kahmir issue.
I add that Maithils in both sides have become like Kashmiri Pandits home refuge and water is due to global warming or explotation which will break our most ancient civilization of Koshi bed.
Dineshji was right that true assessment of damage will be after flood recedes- many persons agricultural land may be sand bed.

I appeal advocates to file PIL for compensation and to people to be united in coming time.
The leaders are criticizing each other. I saw Rambilas Paswan criticizing Govt. of Bihar for not taking due care of bandhs in Nepal which it had to do. The relief package is pre-election package- if UPA is to win it needs seats from Mithila. Everybody want our votes in India and Nepal but nobody wants to give us right.
Maithils in Nepal are as much a neglected lot as in India’s Bihar and Jharkhand!
Sheohar, Arariya and Santahl Pargana have lowest per capita income in India.
Sure, our vote managers have gone to key posts in both sides but that is not the remeady.
On the name of Mithila state many persons have feeling as .”Saanp ke sunghab..”
That may not be the last answer but that is the first for getting our due in India (and so a Mithila state in Nepal as well).

The problems never come in queue and Mathils of both sides should be vigilant.
We need to solve our problems- others may have sympathy for which we are thankful be PM or CM but we Maithils need asked in policy formulation tot tackle our age old maladies.

Those who can go for relief work or can contribute should but that is not the last – the problem needs drastic solution for relief from our perrineal pain and for this as BK Jha was suggesting we the both sides of Mathils should meet our respective governments at delhi and Kathmandu that we should be empowered to find solution and in this connection AMP would like to send its delegation to the concerned.

Your input needed. On a sudden programme I am going today Kolkata for the release of Maithili’s first daily, Maithili Samad to be held at Mahajati Sadan on 31.8.2008 at 500 PM. Though Sahitya Akademy representative of Maithli Dr. Vidyanath Jha Videet infomed me today around 11 am when I phoned him that Dr. Nitya Nand Lal das had written comments on his books, Suramritam and Manav Kalp, I too had written a small criticism which he listened to on phone and suggested me to congratulate Tarakant Ji for his brave step in the arena of Maithili journalism. When I called him Kolkata he requested me which on canceling one of my local meeting here have decided to go where too I will raise Koshi issue.
Prof. NL Das has written an article, Koshi kasi/ Kaishi or Koshi kushi or can it be Koshi Khushi or it would be khudkushi (suicide) anytime in future!

Koshi Floods and Mithila state

28.8.08 Koshi Floods and Mithila state
On the evening of 27th, I got a call from Shri Ganaga Prasad Sharma, from Jamshedpur that the AMP, Saraikela- Kharsawan, was meeting then for the relief work of Koshi floods. I gave them contact number of Dr. L.N. Jha , Saharsa and Dr. N. L.Das, VP, AMP, with whom at Forbesganj Dinesh K. Mishra would have a meeting yesterday morning. Any help will be routed through them which for the moment was needed.
Though we feel Govt. of Bihar has miserably failed for the persuasion of GOI for a permanent solution of Koshi Floods which by technocrat’s’ advice need High Dam(costing 27,500 crores by 1997 estimates) and may be almost 30 such High dams as per Dinesh K. mishra after which it would be difficult to say whether Nepal would own the dams or vice versa?

I had been a flood relief worker in 1984 and 1987 and any talk of relief is only sympathetic unless one have big infrastructure and in fact the relief material hardly reach to the most needy. Still that should be done but should seek permanent remeady. Dinesh ji says break the bandhs and free the rivers and de-silt the rivers which I do agree. I know GOI could muster Rs. 500 crores by 2 % educational cess on all Income tax payees. So, some 30 % cess for a single High Dam? Which Govt,. will do it. PM and CMs would make airsurveys- every year they do such surveys and announce many things which they forget so easily.
And that is a point that India needs a State Govt. of Mithila to press continuously for this which in personal talks Dinesh Mishra(an UP-ite otherwise) had also agreed.
Many persons of Bihar-‘mania’ feels that Bihar is sacrosanct and its division will be anti-national. I am sure they do not have more nationalistic work done that in personal and social capacity I have done up to the borders of Nagaland.

Such Biharphilic persons (many Maithils therein whoa re writing me ,many times ignorantly and many times even abusigly) are always opposing my views but I still repeat even another Maithil CM of Bihar will not do welfare for Mithila area(there have been many such Maithil CMs in the past and there will be many till Mithila is separated).
Mithila had been a janlad of graet Aryavart and only in Muslim period it was merged in Bihar and let every Maithil feel that he/she maybe technically a Bihari he/she is not innately but a Maithil and we need our State for solving our problems.
The AMP all to help flood victims and be united for demanding Mithila state even for the single cause of flood protection which Govt. of Bihar has failed since 1912 it has areas of Mithila in its direct ambit.

Mithila State and BSP

Mithila State and BSP
And this morning when I talked Pramodji, Madhubani at ensuing cycle March there he asked me whether I would like to contest on a BSP ticket from Madhubani or Jhanjhapur Lok sabha Constituency? I do not know even my status as a voter since I left Ranchi after my transfer and such a fete may be experience provider and I can not reject at the moment. President BSP, Arariya and Ranchi had also asked me to meet Mayawati but so far I am not a political person though I appreciate her stand for smaller states which she should extend also for Bihar, supporting the cause of Mithila. The combination of Brahmin with Harijan or OBC Annexuture I can trounce the MY combination I had probably written about 7-8 years back but she is a political person worked on that while I am a social worker pursuing the agenda without any caste bias.

Undue criticisms; ‘Blood is thicker than water,’ is a saying of bygone days!

27.8.2008: Undue criticisms; ‘Blood is thicker than water,’ is a saying of bygone days!

Last evening has been for listening to criticism from a Maithil who had been close to me and not that I have not patience for that but if I feel that even though I was not wrong in the episodes should I still accept that I should mend? Should I mend to wrong ways and tools of profession for cheap popularity. And my thinking was that on repetition of lies by many one assumes to believe in such as per Goebbel’s hypothesis and in such a case a person does not remain a neutral informer for the well being of his friend but a partial believer in false propaganda which is not good for harmonious relation.

The persons who have not liked me in my professional career were not because I treated them wrong but because they wanted medicines or referrals on their choices and a many a times even when I tried to help them it was thought opposite and when such thing happened afterwards in due process the credit was given to other is one thing, discredit was given to me and it was all because to most of the Maithils, I was available easily.

May be others too had such complaints but at least I was not aware of and my most of the patients are south Indians, poor Muslims and of course some Maithils like one person came with his mother to me even 2 km away where I am posted nowadays maybe as an aftermath of the Association’s election I fought unsuccessfully. However, around 30 per cent persons voted me which was not a small vote where only miniscule are Maithils. Some of Maithils seems not voted for me, even one of my distant relative was the counting agent of my opponent simply because he was from the same section he was working. ‘Blood is thicker than water,’ is a saying of bygone days!

I have little connections with people around me here and I want to be more isolated.
It was also said that people left out me due to such pretexts while in the case of AMP it was because the many persons did not comply the fiscal norms (and in the case of NMO on the matter of groupism and flattery more than ideology) still there are many who are with me and true, many Maithils do not like AMP for their own reasons though they want a coordinating organisation will not like to share responsibilities!

I talked Dr. Guneshwar Jha, Maheshwar Sah, Bindeshwar Jha, etc for submitting a memorandum to the DRM on 29th August for half train of Maurya Express to send to Jaynagar from Samastipur and prepared papers for that this afternoon. Last evening Amirinath Jha ‘Amar’, Secretary, AMP, Jhakhand talked on phone for such a memorandum from Bokaro to be sent to Delhi directly. He could collect around a thousand signatures though in Ranchi such forms are yet to be returned.
Last evening I request Dr. C.D. Mishra to arrange a Maithili training Camp at his home, Sultanganj in Munger where after Kuangarhi we could not have other and from many angles work south to Ganga is important for Mithila. Dr. Mishra was sore at the caste conflict ignited by the politicians and my view that Hindu theology can correct that if our seers penetrate to villages. Gayatrri parivar is doing that but Chinmay Mission etc. are located in cities only. On my drama on Yudhistir’s Sannyas rightly he commented that the dialogues should be smaller which I was also thinking and will do this evening before I go to a Kannadiga’s house for Maithili translation work of a book, ‘Mauni’ where it seems my fate is like one of its character who though does everything with correct heart does get opposite result ,maybe as per our scriptures result is not as per work done but an output of Prarabdh( desiny) also and hence Lord Krishna had said,” Kamanye vadhikaraste, ma faleshu kadachan.”

Koshi floods update

27.8.2008 Koshi floods update

This morning Dinesh Mishra phoned that he was in my town and I thought that he was returning Jamshedpur via Ranchi but he was at Forbesganj my birth place. He could contact Prof. N. L.das and was slated for a meeting at 830 am. Last night at Dr.Ashok K, Jha’s house I saw on state channels that Koshi has taken a more direct route westwards and the areas of Madhepura, Arariya and Supaul are heavily submerged. Around 17 lakh population is facing a terrific life. I contacted Prof. N.L. Das and he informed me that though water had not entered Forbesganj town it has encircled Narpatganj etc. and many persons were evacuated from such areas.
I was thinking when and how this tragedy will go or the culture of Koshi area will be extinct like that of harappa!
Probably a Govt. of Mithila State can delve deep for it and the way to that comes from villages and a strong political will to break all bandhs and de-silt the river.

Cycle यात्री

Cycle Yatra
The mail of Jyoti Prakash Lal, Wipro ,Hyderabad that he will be with me in cycle Yatra is exhilarating. Last night my sister enquired me that when I rode cyle last in Yatra. Listening 1994, she requestd me to have some km ride as it was long ago and my age but I replied I can.
Is there anyone who can accompany more even for a day or two( 2/10-10/10? Or, can arrange meetings in his/her village if comes in the way- the proposed route is:

Ugnasthan-(Pandaul)- Madhubani- Rahika- Arer- Benipatti- Harlakhi- Basopatti- Jaynagar

A day of Jams and Cycle yatra for Mithila Rajya

26.8.08

A day of Jams and Cycle yatra for Mithila Rajya

The idea of visiting districts of Mithila is tossing in my mind to plan few days ensuing leaves for Durga Puja(2nd October to 12th October). Till this night I was thinking to visit as many districts as possible by train route but today I thought why not to take a bicycle again from Kanhauli and once more start my Abhiyan for Mithila Rajya from Ugna Mahadev. In 1993-94, I had visited the areas on foot and or cycle. In 15 years many things have changed and this time I may call interested persons to assemble at Parsa village where Maithili Training Camp will be held from 9th to 12th October. Parsa is near Jaynagar from where belongs Dr.P.K.A.Pandit who was energetic worker while he was at Ranchi. When yesterday evening Dr. Kamal Kant Jha talked me from Kaluahi where he has opened a clinic and informed me about the camp at his village I happily consented for such a camp where some patients too must be benefited by my advices.

Yestrday was a day of JAMs- the gate going to connect satellite colony was closed by some persons leaving in the Khatal area when they were charged for a Matka Phore programme in the premises of the MECON without permission. They said that they had made a Govardhan Sthan and were worshipping there for many years. The gate was closed and people sat with a banner of the LJP. So the place of VHP, RSS is being taken by others for the Hindu cause too as workers are the same and party may change in a day of swift changing loyalty to persons more than the loyalty. And,hence, yesterday Laly Yadav’s magic worked and Madhu Koda accepted Shibu Sorens enthroning again who till yesterday was dead against of him! There was a jam by Koda supporters near CM house on the Kanke Road and also on the Main Road as said by one of my hospital workers.

For my evening OPD, I took a long route through Debadih seeing many new restaurants and a big car shop on the bye pass road crossing Bhusar river which is swollen if rain is even few hours. Damodar is swollen second to 1985, I saw in TV last evening. I saw a Bhusar Sarna sthali made by the SAIL- such a thing may be finally for the Govardhansthan also though definitely that is an encroachment by religious name.

The BSNL mobile had also a jam in the afternoon- was it due to political heat or heat of Bhado without clouds in the sky I could not know but I was apprehensive of my sister’s well being who had gone to railway station booking her tickets(and mine too for Delhi in the coming Deepawali where I usually am present to meet workers on the eve of Kali Puja for many years). In Deepawali there can be no meetings and so in Durga Puja and probably a cycle wandering will also make me healthier by reducing a few kg weight which I have gained after coming from Bangalore!

I tried to contact Mahtoji of Dalsing Sarai and Vishnukantji/Rajneesh of Muzaffarpur for arranging motor cycle for visiting villages in Samstipur districts to Muzaffarpur which are being engulfed by so called Vajjika but could not contact them . Though my nephew could not be contacted at Kanhauli his father (today at Rameshwaram) told me that a cycle will be available, if I liked again(like 1994)..Though visiting south-west Mithila will be more important, refreshing memories of Madhubani-Darbhanga district may be useful as I can request youth to join Parsa camp and there can find even one whole/part timer will be organizationally useful. We need young workers in a substantial number..

Dr. Ashok Kale, nephew of Savarkar, the PA to great Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Guruji Golwalkar and others

Dr. Ashok Kale, nephew of Savarkar, the PA to great Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, Guruji Golwalkar and others

At midnight of 22.8.08/23.8.08, I had a 37.53 minutes talk on mobile with Dr.Ashok Kale, Pune who is now teaching at Jagdalpur Medical College. I wanted his presence at the proposed NMO conference at Bhopal ,Nov.15-16 and asked for theme for which he suggested ,”Foreign Influence in Health Decision (and practice, I add),” which is alike to the Dam construction promoting by the MNCs.
When I mentioned about late PP.Gurujee(M.S.Golwalkar) and my article in a book on him published by the Ranchi Express which has put my article on 18th number(Vajpayee’s one and Advani’s two in sequence);he was nostalgic about him as he came very close to him after his 3rd OTC in 1973 (when I had taken admission in MBBS and he had passed out MBBS) and I too was as I had managed his stage from where he addressed us at Ranchi though I had seen him three times before at Saharsa, Katihar and Munger on the basis of which I had written that article published first in the Ranchi express and then in the book . He had nurtured him when he joined the RSS.
Probably we were Swaymsevaks of his time when sacrifice was the watch word. Ashokji and me both are rated as rebellion at our places as we presume that there are some persons of honesty and dedication even out of our circle which is not taken in a good taste.
I recalled when Dr. Kale had taken me to Dr. Anant Phadke who had done significant work in Community Medicine and Drugs.
It was a long talk on various aspects which need many pages but let me conclude by mentioning that he is a nephew(bhagina) of one Savarkar who was the PA to the Great V.D. Savarkar. His mama Savarkar wanted that Ashok should purchase the copyrights of Savarkar’s books in one or 1.5 lakh from him whom Great Savarkar had vested all copyrights. Ashok’s mama thought that Ashok was capable of propagating his thoughts but when uncle criticized Guruji and Atal Behari Vajpayee Ashok retorted that he was trained in nationalism by Guruhi like persons and their relations became sour!

Ashok Kale rightly said that had not been Savarkar 14 years in Andmans(and 13 years at Ratnagiri), he would have given new turn to Indian politics! The years spent in Jails might have produced some liters of oil only but was a waste for a talent like Savarkar.
I mentioned about a photograph of him I saw in the hostel of GMC, Nagpur, the only hostel where I had seen in all over country. I read a big article on Savarkar on 23rd August which was a holiday for me and an article by Manmathnath Gupta about Chandrashekhar Azad ,etc and about Chittagaon Rebellion in a souvenir commemorating it s golden jubilee in 1980 which was given to me by late Ganguli ,a direct disciple,of Mastarda, Surya Sen, saying,”He did not die (in some episode of illness) as he had to give me that souvenir and a book (on revolutionaries published by the WB Govt).”
Sometimes later I will dwell on the book if time and mood permits let me say at the moment that thee is an article VIJOYA written by Master Da which if anybody read will have tears in emotions if he /she is truly an Indian where he asked whether he had made some mothers sonless for bad reasons. When one of his disciple lady revolutionary died in thre Armoury he had penned that article on the next Vijouadashmi!
Today even that Chittagon is also not in India though English left!

Ashok Kale ( who himself had gone to serve interiors of Arunachal) said that I possess the stamina to challenge anybody like VD Savarkar ? (which I know I do not have) while he himself was a moderate person to have compromises though he had served as the first, III OTC Trained worker under Bindu Madhav Joshi who when expelled from the BJP had started working for the Grahak Panchayat as Akhil Bhartiya even at working at Pune only which it became so when Ma. Bala Saheb recognized him and the organization. Ma. Bala Saheb had recognized me too and had said in one of the meeting when there was much rumbling whether the NM should be continued or closed, ”Dhanakar will do even International Conference if you can help him, help or keep quite.”
I know that I am doing internationally work for the Maithili though the NMO work is also continued of course with a freedom from the persons who had encircled its guide for their nefarious ends.
Every organization is same- even on 22nd August, I had to cancel the venue of the XVIII International Maithili Conference from Pune on organizational discipline and within a meeting it was relocated to Delhi by mobile telephony- though I want to go the corners of the country but Capital pulls like a market..
Morarjee Desai had once said to a correspondent in reply when was asked whether he was rightist that he was in a sense that he believed in doing right things and I feel everything emanates in the country from the Capital and so Mithila as a state needs capital too!
I said Kale that on 21st August in Geeta class, swami Madhvananda had quoted Vashishtha’s teaching to Ram,”From outside look active to do everything but inside think that ‘I am not doing anything.”
That I feel internally that I am not doing anything!

I wrote a note on rediff:

Tata should withdraw from Singur
by dhanakar thakur on Aug 22, 2008 02:18 PM Permalink

It should- country needs food not cars!
The fate of tribal has not changed even in Singhbhum district where is Tatanagar.
The poorest 50 districts of the country are those having huge minerals and mining!
For industrial behaviour Tata though has been exemplary the poor’s farming need not be snatched on the name of development.
The whole story has also shown hypocrisy of the Marxists!

23rd and 24th were holidays and I utilized for study.
I talked many doctors for the NMO. Bhopal conference eg. Dr.SNR Patgiri and Dr. DK Serker, Guwahati, Dr. Bharat Choubey, Mumbai, Dr.S.Vivekananda, Katihar, Dr. Sunil Agrawal, Patna, Dr. Hridesh saha, Kolkata, Dr.Goswami, Indore, etc. On 24th I talked Dr. Sanjeev Kelkar who was at Pune, Dr. K.K.Sharma, Tirupati, Dr. Winay Siddhesh, Jamshedpur etc. – many of them are from the RSS stock and many outside that and I feel NMO is meant for all without any discrimination for the service to the poor of the motherland. And it was the vision of DR. Abajee Thatte and Dr. Sujit Dhar too. Though it is difficult for me at this age to reestablish it I hope I will do my best without compromising on nationalistic ideology.

On 24th I went for Sanskrit classes also. Learning at this age is peculiar!

There was a function of the death anniversary of Pathikrit son late Abhas Kumar Chatterjee, topper of matriculation in Bihar and in all India in the IAS . I became very close to him in his last years. He was a staunch Hindu nationalist and his opinion on Vajpayee and Advani was like that of the PA Savarkar of the great Savarkar! A trust named on Pathikrit founded by Abhasji needs restructuring for its goals. I may be a marginal contributor to that.

Dr. Shanti Prakash was there and I came him to my quarters ,Advocate Chandra Prakash Jha was reading a book n Amarnath Jha, vice-chancellor, Allahabad University on which we had some discussion and we are of his view that the Sanskritised form of Hindi is valid not the Urduised form for the National Language status. Chandra Prakash and maid Poonam helped me in clearing some of the white ant (deemak) -eaten papers of the NMO and Maithili but it is a mammoth task and needs many more days to sort and classify. A digital form that may be a good record of the NMO and AMP as well as reference for many subjects.
It was surprising the labourer who cleaned premises was named Mithilesh! Not a Maithil probably a Tribal and keeping name Mithilesh and a Mithilesh is a daily labourer for Rs.120?
What is in the name?

Tata should withdraw from Singur

Koshi Flood update III

Koshi Flood update III
A patient of mine from Sardiha village told me that flood waetr has entered Saharsa also. On phone Dr. L.N. Jha confirmed that and as he was at Patna to meet CM there it was a short talk though I asked him to convey local press that the Amp will press its on 27th September in a nation-wide move, for the Mithila state with an issue of floods.
I also said him that if Nepal wants 1954 Treaty reviewed why not 1816’s Sugauli Treaty which had bisected Mithila in two? The solution lies in cool thinking not in political sloganeering.

I was writing wrong Murdhanya Sha,Today I knew

I was writing wrong Murdhanya Sha,Today I knew

Today I corrected my one of the mistakes I had been doing in Devnagari(Hindi) alphabet writing- in Murdhanya Sha, I had been giving right oblique stroke in Pa while it should have been left oblique stroke.
That I noticed when writing some of the Sanskrit shabdroops as asked by Swami Madhavananda, the Chinmaya Swami who has started a Sanskrit course too.
Such mistake was probably my primary education was not formal. I may have some more such mistakes I could not even know for long nor anybody did point out to me.

Koshi agreement with India suicidal says Nepal PM Dahal

Now Nepal President demands scrapping unequal treaties

Telegraphnepal.com - Kathmandu,Bagmati,Nepal

Kosi Agreement between India and Nepal 1954

What I feel and have also issued press statement like it:

"It is quite unfortunate that leaders of Nepal are using Koshi floods and Indo-Nepal Treaty as Pakistani leaders have been doing with Kashmir.
Do not forget that the boundary is human made, nature does not know it.
I strongly appeal for finding a solution and not brick batting- today Nepali Maithils are sufferers(and Indian Maithils have started suffering- already Supaul, Araria and Katihar districts' people are affected.
I hoped new regime will be practical but he wanted to use it as a political tool which is not good for a start of his tenure.
And any Nepali citizen be Madheshi or from Hill should not be allured by the slogans as with India there relation is stronger than any yellow skin,; it is older than the history of Modern Nepal- older than of the History itself- older than Rajarshi Janak and Mother Seeta..and any attempt to crush it with reddened face of the Govt. will result in loss of all concerned.
The issue of Koshi dam may be discussed and in fact in India many like me are not in favour of high dam which will result in purchasing high equipments of the multinationals like that from US, Europe etc.
The rivers of Himalayan beds need de-strangulation from embankments.
The same thing holds for Indo-Nepal Treaty too. I wonder if Nepalis of Madhesh will think alike of Hills as their relation with India is of roti-beti..close kinship which can never be throttled by a ‘whim’ of persons who have no knowledge of reality or ignoring them for their political leverage. Any discussion on the agreement will be welcome whether it is against interest of any country and if pointed out may be rectified friendly."

Koshi update

Koshi update

Last night Dinesh Kumar Mishra phoned me from Ranchi bus stand that he was proceeding to Patna in way to Araiya, Forbesganj,if possible(as water has been rushing towards the town from Kushha’s broken embankments). The water was about 6’ high at the Birpur Chowk and also entered Balua (as I read in today’s newspaper, a dispatch from Supaul). Mishra said that newly elected PM of Nepal, Prachanda had paid a visit in Kushaha area where around 50, 000 Nepali Maithils have become homeless. Nepali PM had said that he would talk to the GOI also. Hope this flood would have given him first dose that the people of both countries are inseparable and so called nationalistic biases are more whim than a reality.

When youth Abhiranjan from Gurgaon reading my blog mailed me about the condition of Birpur from where he belonged I searched one Birendra Singh from Birpur who had given his number while I had been in way to Hulas village of Supaul district, waiting at Raghopur staion. Despite I tried to on his number 06471-24841, I could not get connection and his was the only number with me from Birpur out of 2901 data on my spreadsheet(and not updated for six months which might add few hundred more). Naturally remaining in contacting with such a huge number is not humanly possible and at times I forget to add/call the persons promised and in fact they also do not remind me.
Dineshji was sore at the happenings and got some more information from Nepal’s the Kantipur Times and the Kathmandu Post. Though he has been doing his best he had read my last post and said that it was embarrassing for him and he wanted to be,”Main jaisa hun vaisa hi rahne den.” In fact what I praised for him was not as much he deserved.
I cannot serve my motherland(in smaller sense I am using for Koshi-Kamla area) but he despite being an outsider working so seriously. True we all are one from the national point of view and had possibly me too in his position might have worked for Bhojpur or Magadh or for that of any part of country which culturally is one including that of Nepal, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, etc.
The surge of nationality is immense while you play or watch cricket.Yesterday I saw that in a match with Sri Lanka. Though I do not wish or pray for victory of Indian team not only with Sri Lanka but with any country not because I do not have nationalistic view but because I think Cricket is a play for some elite persons and countries. My happiness was more with Kanam Malleshwari, Rathore , Bindra and Sushil! Let me not dilate the subject of cuture and nationality here which may be the topic of my next writing.

We need persons like Dinesh Mishra who had studied the problem and solution has become his life aim! I told Dineshji that I was waiting for my early retirement and when the age was lowered from 60 to 58 , I became happy(also because the torturing director was also retiring earlier) and when it was again raised to 60, I became sorry (also because such directors would be longer in service!). Nobody knows whether I will be alive next 7 years to retire and I do not know whether I would be even free to work like Dineshji, rushing to spot despite having no facilities. Who knows I will not became busy in my practice and despite some problems I am getting leaves to tour till I am in service.

Heartburn and my story of ‘TEA- totaling’

20.8.2008

Heartburn and my story of ‘TEA- totaling’
Many people want me to write regularly whether it can be possible with the subjects available around us is a concern.
Just now I had listened to a lecture on heartburn by Dr. Pulak Sahay, a gastroenterologist at Leeds University(UK). A form of oesophageal disease, Barrett’s Oesophagus is rising alarmingly due to smoking and others where capsicum is also supposed to be a cause. I said about a research by one Dr. Shrivasatva ,not a medical doctor but a scientist whose work had been that capsicum in fact blocks one enzyme which lead to acid secretion, This I had listened to on the BBC some 5-6 years back. Dr.Sahay agreed that it might be so!
After listening to that I had started eating one capsicum(green) whenever available in house and that too biting that taking in left hand while eating food as someone had told me that Swami Vivekananda had been eating!
Anyway my heartburn became lesser though the cause of heartburn also include anxiety status which needs relieved apart from the fact that tablets like omeprazole should be taken half an hour before breakfast or dinner, not at bedtime.

Hot drinks including tea can cause oesophageal strictures and hence anything should be taken after cooling as once upper third of oesophagus is passed the epithelium is changed from stratified to columnar and it cannot carry thermal sensation and once you gulped hot haluwa you will think that it has passed but will burn oesophagus and below it was hot!
My father said that once Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, MRCP, FRCS, the CM of WB had said to some patient that hot tea had burnt his oesophagus. That was the time in fares tea was given free for advertisement by tea companies!
Dr. Hedgewar, the founder of the RSS used to say that a social worker should must take tea (maybe to have some talks over cheaply given by even in a poor person’s house, of course he himself was so poor that it is said once his sister in-law (bhabhi)could not make tea as nothing was in the house of that poor Brahmin!
I am a teetotaler, not only for alcohol but for tea and coffee too and barring a few occasions have hardly taken tea or coffee anywhere.
I recall I could not get sleep till late night when I had coffee with the legendary physian of Bihar, Dr. Shrinowas’s house when (after 5 years of his saying that come after MBBS when I had gone first on his invitation as a comment written on his POLYPATHY appeared in the Aryavart, the daily. I had met him at Patna in his clinic for discussion) I had gone to his Patliputra Colony house in 1980 to invite him for the I Conference of the NMO where he came as per his promise.
Next I recall I had a cup of coffee with Mrs. Radha Singh, the then Commissioner of the Chotanagpur when I had gone to meet her with some medicos of the RMCH for some NMO related work.
Then I had asked my ex-wife Dr.Suman Jha at her AMC, Dibrugrah hostel to bring one cup of tea- that she brought and I though took to show that I am able to change my habits, she broke the cup in anger(and later marriage!).

And when she filed some cases in the court once I ad waited at BhauraGahi’s old temple of Mata Guheshwari( Mother godess in rectal part, very unique temple), the wife of priest brought a cup of tea for me which I took as a Prasad.
In my childhood I had promised before Ramchandra Sharma ‘Veer’, the great person who took fast for 72 days with the Shankaracharya of Puri for abolition of Cow- slaughter. That was my movement participation when I might ne 12 years only.
Tea was not common in my house however occasion cup I might have taken. However in the floods at Darbhanga in 1975 when water entered in Pandasarai area( the area where later maybe in 1985-86, I had gone to visit the legendary poet Baidyanath Mishra Yatri, Nagrjuna of Hindi when Bharat Choubey,Secretary, NMO,DMCH, now a spinal surgeon at Mumbai, had donated his blood to Mahakavi when I was on tour somewhere) I had gone with Ramsevak Sharan, pracharak of the RSS, for a coutsey visit to his brother(a Judge in the Court)’s house, his bhabhi could not make tea for want of materials and I re-decided that I will not take tea or coffee!
Maybe it is also a factor in preventing any heartburn! But more important is what Dr. Manjushree Tiwari had said to the speaker(though not understandable to him), quoting Bhagwad Gita’s 4:24 that whatever we eat is gong to Brhma which is also Agni
“Brahmarpanma, Bramhvir, Brahmagno, Brahmanahutam,
Brahmaiv Ten Gantavyam, Brahmkarm Samadhinam.
“In the Yajna offered thing is Brahma, the material for havan is also Brahma, the Brahmaform doer’s method of giving ahuti in Brahmaform fire is also Brahma-in that Brahmakarm ,the Yogi who is established , the obtainable result by him/her,therefore is also Brahma.”

Dinesh Mishra’s work for crores of people while Medha Patkar and Arundhati Roy’s for lakhs only!

19/8/08

Dinesh Mishra’s work for crores of people while Medha Patkar and Arundhati Roy’s for lakhs only!

A call in the morning from Dinesh Kr. Mishra –whether I had any information for the collapsed Koshi barrage in Nepal and water had entered into Birpur and Forbesganj, my hometown.
I gave him number of Prof. Nitya Nand Lal Das, who succeeded my father as the president, RSS of the town and was at the moment vice-president of the Anatarrashtriya Maithili Parishad ( AMP ). I also phoned him but his phone was out of order. I phoned Jethmal Jain who had a drug shop at Forbesganj JAIN PHARMACY in the same shop where in my early childhood I had seen my father practicing. The landlord did not give the pucca constructed shop to my father who had to shift sideways from there.

Jethmalji had been a fast friend of Dasji and had a good view for me all along. Even his daughter, an advocate in the Supreme Court had once represented my case in the Bar Council of India.
I phoned Jethmalji and he affirmed the news of the devastation by broken barrage at a place KUSHAHA in Nepali area of Koshi. The water had entered in Birpur but not so far in my town, Forbesganj.
I informed Dineshji who though lived at Jamshedpur his life was in the Koshi area. I asked him to talk to Jethmalji also.
Dinesh Kr. Mishra is a name now well known in the field of water and flood management. An alumnus of the IIT, Kanpur, he hailed from Azamgarh (UP) and remained a bachelor in search of solution to the perineal floods of Koshi and other rivers of Mithila and other parts of Bihar. He is a non-believer of Dams to which I too follow. I was reading Arundahti Roy’s article in Outlook written in 2000 where she had painted a picture of MNCs hobnobbing with the high dam manufacturers; she has painted pictures of several millions uprooted from their land after Narmada’s Sardar Sarovar Project.
Though I have every love with the Saurashtra and Gujarat regions people, I was never in favour of such project which uproots poor villagers and hence I had an admiration for Arundhati not because I agreed to her all writings but because she dared to speak against the Supreme Court, even at the cost of going jail for a night. I feel , the Hon’ble Court should not have gone to that extent not because she was a Booker awardees but because she spoke for the poor, even if it might be against many more poor of Gujarat; after all she was a lady and when the court cannot do anything against law breakers entering in the Cabinet..
Dineshji’s work is far greater than Arundhati, Medha Patkar or Rajendra Sachhar..He took up the work of flood devastated public in 1984 when I had gone to work on the other bank he was working on Koshi at Saharsa(I was at Koparia Ghat.. taken there by Swami Vivekananda, a student of the Darbhanga Medical College, so named by his parent school teachers from Khagaria, on the great sanyasi Vivekanada, the role model for all, To some extent Dr. Vivekananda is serving its people there still though I returned and merely wrote an editorial for starting a branch, CALAMITY MEDICINE which of course ids now well known as DISATER MEDICINE..
Dineshji had gone there to give a report for continuing or closing a project by OXFAM but seeing the unimaginable water south of Saharsa had recommended continuing work and was asked by a Marathi worker of Gandhi Shanti Pratishathan to delve deep of the problem which took the youth of Dineshji..
When I started Maithili work, I had made a Flood Control Committee and had a recall that somewhere in the magazine, Bagmati Damodar Times, Dineshji was mentioned as Gadhiraj delving deeper in the pages of the National Library, Kilkata’s books.
Dr. Jaykant Mishra of Allahabad sent me his address of Jamshedpur and when I went there in connection of seeing a groom for my sister instead I landed up in the book-filled room of Dineshji who used to live in the NML(National Metallurgical Laboratory) Campus where his elder brother was a Deputy Director. Guessing me close to Dineshji(though it was a first meet with him), his sister in law asked me to say him for marriage,”Who will look after him after me..?”
Dineshji told her that he had already married to Saptakoshis and would move to other place with his books. I told him that we revered Koshi as mother.

And that Dineshji who had first replied me in Hindi to my letter in Maithili that he belonged to UP and though can understand could not write Maithili became close to me.
He reproduced many books on Koshi( Barh se trast, sinchi se past), Abhishapt Gandak, Dui Patan ke beech me(Kamla –Balan as well as two banks of Koshi), Bandini Mahananda, Boya Per Babool ka, Ek Bhootahi Nadiki kahani, .. etc.
He addressed AMP’s Jamshedpur and Rourkela conferences. Every village of Mithila is on his fingertips!
He had worked for the people devastated by water while Medha and Arundhati for water deprived. Dinesh’s work was for crores of people while Medha Patkar and Arundhati’s for lakhs only!
Dinesh could not get media attention so much and thus awards but could arouse people of Mithila. I attended one such convention in April 1995 probably at Nirmaly on the 50th Anniversary of the inauguration of the Koshi Project and saw tere poor farmers around 2000! Again once I addressed for a few minute in a state level such conference at Patna ‘s Shstrinagar.
Today Dineshji is bothered much than me though I was born in Koshi sands!
Dineshji, an UPite is in fact is a friend of Mithila unparallel like George Grierson, an Irish was.
His concern that people in the Bandh area of Nepal saved by barrage braking and now if more rains in Bhadav what will happen to the Indian Maihtils till Koparia Ghat are genuine..
Again there will be air surveys. PM Dr. Manmohan Singh had assured for remeady. I read in the Hindustan today, CM, Neetish has asked the Central Govt. to talk to the Govt. Of Nepal.
Yes, there is now a Govt. of Nepal, PM Prachanda has just sworn in the name of PEOPLE..People of Nepal and India cannot be segregated he should know. There are apprehensions that he has been anti-Indian, anti-Hindi and even anti-Hindu though a Hindu but being a Marxist! Marx’s philosophy was universal and Indians had given the Maoists shelters when the head hunting was on.
Let us see what happens!

SWEETS..SWEETS: Sanskrit is sweet and our sanskriti is sweet

SWEETS..SWEETS: Sanskrit is sweet and our sanskriti is sweet..any amount you digest you will not be an obese or diabetic..
(Aug.17th 2008)
On 17th August morning my sister awoke me that there was a belated birthday wish call from Mahesh jha of USA who had read my lines that I wanted to remain ‘unsung’. Though he asked me to enjoy sweets(apart from reminding me distribution of Mithila state pamphlets by Manikantji which I propose to undertake during Puja holidays in October), I now want to refrain from sweets not I am that a diabetic rather want to loose a few kg weight though am not able to resist temptation once sweets are presented to me. On 17th noon also Dr.Asit Baran De ,only doctor of my hospital whose house I visit off and on(and gone to watch tv snippet by local channels as I do not keep TV as I do not get sleep once that is there- and after a small TV without cable, did not purchase other. When I left Bangalore that too had some mechanical defects which my maid had taken to some shop yesterday again. Anyway we could not find that channel NAZAR PBL but was offered again sweets for Raksha bandhan by Dr. Shipra, wife of Dr. Asit. They are from Bankura(WB) and Asit had his MBBS from GMC, Srinagar, I visited in 2004 as a mark to end of my journey to all 106 medical colleges of the country of my student days- then there I had stayed in a Muslim girl’s house whose brother seemed to me as if a militant. She was student at Jammu’s engineering college of my friend Arun Jha and had come to receive me at Lal Chowk and next night I was in a Sikh student Mangal Singh’s house- my long article, Kashmir: Paradise or Paradigm of problems is on that journey.

On 16th noon I was busy in writing reports and releases of Sanskrit Divas and faxing them though only few lines by some papers appeared on that important and unique function after the evening OPD, I had gone to the house of my senior colleague Dr.Manjushree Tiwari’s house to bless her son Vivek, a software engineer at Gurgaon and his newly wed wife in the reception day of whom I was away at Purnea on April 27th, 2008. They were in the town and I took that opportunity to meet them. It was a long talk on our scriptures and Sanskrit and science with them. His sister too was a student of Dentistry at the Davangere the college I had visited long back where in the library had seen the volumes of Brahmvadin edited by Swami Vivekananda himself which I had quoted n my autobiography.

On 17th I remained sleeping till late and had gone to the library where I took a book on 51 poetries by Atal Behari Vajpayee. After returning from Asit’s house I completed reading that book before going to the Geeta Jnan Yanya at 7pm(I was free as incidentally Hanumantesh , a Kannaga cancelled his appointment from 3 pm where he was t help me in translating UR Ananthmurthy’s , ‘Mauni’, the part of wich I had done at Banglore with help of Ramana and here some pages on 15th August). I have one personal meeting with Vajpayee when I was a child and was pleased to read about his life and poetries. He is a bachelor and none of his poems are sensual while though am almost a bachelor have written a few such though sharing nationalistic vision I have hardly written poetries on nationalism which marvellously he had penned. I longed to be a debater and parliamentarian like him.
In the evening I had gone to the house of a friend and compunder of mine where I told him that I prefer to have my evenings with someone from other state(i.e. language) or caste or district though it was always not possible and there too his wife , a teacher in a distant district offred me sweets and khir..and also a shirt from his representative friend accepting which was a difficult task for me as reciprocation by prescriptions would amount to be unethical and I gave it to my sister to present it to my brother in law in coming kojagra..he was yesterday at Haridwar and had phoned about the conversation with a US born person who delved deep in the Vedanta of India and had come to live here thinking it the country of god and my brother in law remarked that he had forgotten all his knowledge of scriptures before that foreigner as his knowledge comparatively was immense and his provocation that being a Brahmin he should have know them exhorted him(my brother in law)..
Is it not correct for me and many persons like me..Sanskrit is sweet and our sanskriti is sweet..any ampunt you digest you will not be an obese or diabetic..

Make Sanskrit simple

Make Sanskrit simple by leaving DWIVACHAN in Shabdrupas and using only three tenses for dhaturupas.
( Sanskrit Divas, August 16th 2008, Rakshabandhan)

Sanskrit can be made simple by leaving DWIVACHAN in Shabdrupas and using only three tenses for dhaturupas, not using difficult Sandhis, and also leaving out some of the Shabdrupas not commonly used and using plural for numbers 2 and above) and such Sanskrit can be the National language which can be learnt to speak by any Indian in 5 days time.

It was a memorable day for me when in the midst of the Independence Day and the political drama in Jharkhand the Sanskrit Divas (16th August ) was organised by me under the auspices of the Antarrarshtriya Maithili Parishad(AMP, founded by me in 1993) at Ranchi and in this programme it was shown by small kids that they can understand and speak in Sanskrit without any difficulty.

The programme unique of it kind was conducted for 90 minutes in Sanskrit, enjoyed by over 60 persons where almost all speakers spoke in Sanskrit.

Conducted by a teacher from the DAV,Kadru, Ranchi Sri Santosh Kumar Jha, little children presented songs, drama in simple Sanskit comprehensible to audience. Participants were Atul, Abhishek, Aditya, Ishan, Pravin, Shanakr, Sukrit, Nimisha, Sushmita, Anuraka, Astha, etc.
Those who enjoyed include Dr. R. K Choudhary from Jamshedpur and Mrs. Gauri Ganesh, and Sri Chandrashekhar mishra, Chandradev Jha, Jayanand Choudhary,Mithilesh Kr. Mishra, Chandraparakash Jha, Chandradev Jham Amarnath Jha, Satish Cjandra Mishra, Sudhir Kumar Thakur, Ram Kumar Jha, Hrishikesh Choudhary, Ajit kr, Singh, Ajay Kr, Jha, Secretary, AMP, Ranchi, etc, The programme was conducted in Sanskrit by Shri Akshayvat Nath Tiwary. I also spoke in Sanskrit.(Three years back also in one such programme I had organised at my residence I had spoken in Sanskrit. Once I had spoken a few sentences before the Shringeri Shankaracharya in sasnskrit,”Aham Mahan Vachaspati Dwitiyasya graminah asmi.” and he had replied, ”Sah mahan santah aasit.”

The beauty of Sanskrit remains in its recall after a long period-when one of the guests there came from Saharsa(where legendary Shakaracharya had debate with Mandan –Bharati at Mahishi village) said that Sanskrit’s encyclopaedia , Amarkosha is unique, I could recall the verses from that book read 44 years back. Even one 5- year old Child Arnav surprised the audience with Gita’s VIII Chapter chanting by memory.

The presidentship of the fuction Dr. Guneshawar Jha informed that the Deccan College, Pune is publishing third volume of the 10 million words extracted from Vedas which will be the biggest lexicographic work done anywhere as per Indologist, A.L. Basham.

Swami Madhvananada of Chinmay Mission , Chief guest there said that Sanskrit has 54 letters and hence, in it the words spoken is written as it is while English being of 26 lettered is unable to do so.
He said that Sanskrit is very simple language and is our root. He is conducting Sanskrit classes too (which I am also attending apart from attending his week long Geeta Jyan Yajna on each Chapter which third Chapter he has started yesterday,. The first such Jyan Yajna I had attended of Swami Chinmayanad himself in 1989 after which he had sent me a personal letter when n the Gurudakshina instead of money I had offered him the booklet for the National medicos Organisation, I founded in 1977).

In Sanskrit meeting on 16.8.2008 were persons like Sri Swadhin Mukherjee, ex-President, MECON’s Executive Association who regretted that they could not speak Sanskrit like their fathers and grandfathers but they would learn it.
But Sanskrit needs simplification unless done that our ancient treasure may not find reglory and vast treasure of knowlwdge of medicine in the books like Charak and Shushruta and in many other sciences will remain unused.

birthday

As per Hindu Maithil tradition tody is my birthday and I have been busy for arranging meeting for Sanskrit Day on 16th August. I do not know why Sanskrit Bharati has choosen this festival as sanskrit day when it has no relevance with that except that Rakshabandhan is called festival of Brahmins(like Durgapuja for Kshatriya , Deepawali for Vaishyas and Holi for Shudras)and Brahmins have been using Sanskrit the most.
I am on fast as per any Paradosh 13(trayodashi)..though on my English birthday August 1 , I had taken sweets my sister had brought for offering Prasad..Even today my office(MECON Ltd.) has given a pack of sweets..on Independence Day eve..but I will wait till evning.
Nobody did phoned me(on English birthday my brother in law- husband of my sister had!)
I was never jubiliant over my birthday as I was ever knowing that my age has reduced one year and I have advanced to my death..in Yaksha-Yudhishtir samvad Yaksha had asked- Kim ascharyam? what is wonder in the world. Yudhishtir had told aptly.. knowing that day by day(ahni..ahni..) man is advancing to death and is busy for nothing...
I am an unknown ,unsung prson and my tragedy is that whom I loved most, served most have neglegted me be in my personal life or organisational life or in service..
I want to remain unsung as I have written in my autobiography..
I never wanted any material thing in reward and I remained always in disagreement on points which ordinarily people will like to agree at that moment..like Na bruyat satyam apriyam..
Whether Satya( Truth) can be pleasant or unpleasant.. the ultimate Truth is not a truce and is unconditined..and that is the Almighty, the Supreme..Whether I would be able to realize that is a questin which cannot be put in a million or any other Dollor or worldly thing of merit--Let me advance on that..

August 8,2008

The media has a hype that it is 8.8.8 and not an auspicious day but they forget that it is 8.8.2008 and has no relation with the non -auspicous 8.8.8 though I fal to understand why 8 is cursed- aath kaath in Maithili, my mother tongue and in Hindi, the national language of India which is in fact Bharatvarsh though its constitution says,'BHARAT,' named after which Bharat- the son of Rishabhdev of ShrimadBhagwadpuran, I read a chapter everyday or on the son of Shakuntala who played with baby tigre, 'Swyamev Mrigendrata,' as is depicted in the insgnia of Vidya Bharati, a body of thousands of primary and secondary schools with an aim to impart nationalistic teaching among youngesters .
But aath is kaath if you think 8 is the number of saturation in atomic numbers- Law of Octate..inert gases have 8 electrons in outer circle..(He has 2 only) and then so onwardss..I do not rememer Medaleef's Periodic Table after I left my Chemistry in 1973, after my pre-medical test..However, I remeber one of the professors of the BIT, Mesra,Ranchi . Prof/ Digambar Agashe had said me that counting by 8 is more perfect than that of decimal system though not as much easy I presumed and was unable to understand his statement though then also I was knowing that the computer is following binumeric system- 0 and 1 and I do not know whether it has advanced to Octate, or hexadrate(for 16, I do not know the exact Latin word though I had read Russinan and French and can follow many Indian languages(maybe 15, including Kannada, I learnt in my 19 months posting at Bangalore which is now Bengaluru) but being a doctor by education and profession(MBBS,MD General Medicine, DCH) I love letters and do write something as and when and today when a bank officer told me that it was a hot topic on TV channels that 8.8.'8 is an auspicious day, I simply said him that entire calculation was wrong as they missed it was 2008..whether they are apprehesive of 8 which is a saturated number or it looks nice like a symphony 8,8,8.. though it would have been so on 8.8.8 or 8.8.888 which maybe again on 8.8.8888 if they are assurred of Indian Mythology where Brahma's one Chaturyugi amounts to..years I do not remeber a Swami had recently quoted but even Brahma is scared of his life as that too is perishable a day..on its completion and he too is a mortal but not as mortal human are who if live healthy 100 years is supposed to be hundred per cent!
